Good morning from a cloudy Cornwall, not too hot. Off to a charity shop in another town this morning, where everything is £1. I've finished my patchwork denim jacket at last and want to make one in black and will be looking for jeans. Then back to my allotment to pick globe artichokes.

Here's my grandson in Newlyn's fish shed, where he was in seventh heaven! 😄

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s very windy and feels cooler, sunny but with some cloud about. We may get a shower at some time this week, but I’m not holding my breath! I’m thinking of abandoning my plans for the front garden because I just can’t dig any holes to put plants in. I have some plants but will put them in big pots instead.
DD1 and family came in yesterday for a quick sandwich/salad lunch, then went off for the 6 year old’s riding lesson.
DD2 and family arrived home at 6.00 yesterday evening after their weekend at Disney Paris. They had a good time, despite the heat. Back to school today.

ash your DGD’s dance show sounds exhausting! Such a lot of work for all those involved, but worth it for the pleasure it gives to the children and their parents/carers.

Good morning all. A cooler day with rain and high winds on the horizon for Glasgow today.

My stay at the but n ben was longer than I had planned but I felt more comfortable the longer I stayed. Having friends and family in Perthshire, I didn’t feel so alone. Now that I have done it, I will look forward to further breaks again.

A trip to the Bahamas sounds wonderful hollysteers Bon voyage.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton; a dry cooler day is forecast thank goodness.
Up early as it's yoga first thing and I need to get a bus before 9am. My friend who normally picks me up has another appointment this morning. I like to have an hour to sit over a mug of tea and a biscuit, read my Kindle tablet, post on here, and then an hour to get ready (shower, wash and dry my hair etc) then not have to rush to the bus stop.

Will do some washing when I get back, unload the dishwasher, and have a general tidy up. Then an afternoon of reading again.

An easy dinner of cold roast chicken and minted new potatoes, followed by strawberries and meringue.

Yesterday my friend came down on the bus for lunch and we chatted for 5 hours.
As she left we noticed a seagull chick had fallen from the nest and was sheltering among the hollyhocks, its parents screaming from the top of the building next door. After phoning the sspca, I decided to leave it alone and hope it gets fed.

The film last night was Napoleon-lots of battles.

Today exercise class and a concert in Edinburgh tonight.

Good morning from N Surrey. A cool breeze blowing through the house and it looks like the start of a lovely summer day. A day in the garden after a quick early morning shop.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It feels cooler, which suits me.

Our fruit picking expedition went fairly well. We picked strawberries and lots of blackcurrants - will probably make ice cream with those and maybe a cake. We had a tasty lunch afterwards at one of our favourite places.

Our cleaner is due this morning. I have the weekly shop as well as dropping a bag of clothes and books at a charity shop and collecting our prescriptions.

Good morning everyone! Have had a bit of a hectic weekend. DS's walk up Snowden with his work colleagues on Friday went well inspite of the heat. Everyone came properly equipped which is always 1 of his worries when he's part of a group that includes people that think it's a fun day out but don't realise how quickly the weather can change.

DH drove home yesterday and said the Conwy tunnel was open on both sides, albeit with speed limits. He's coming back on Wednesday which will be the real test as that was the side affected by the fire.

I'm going to tackle my caravan raised bed today and go out for a walk. I'm also going to knit some more of a hat I'm making for my BiL's 70th birthday.

Good morning from a bright Bristol.
No overnight rain, it didn’t read the forecast! Broken cloud in a sunny sky. At least, the temperatures are tolerable.
Yesterday was very quiet. Mi went to church, didn’t stay for coffee, and sewed, read, pottered.
I thought of FGT/Urms when I ate a defrosted portion of her SOAP dish.
I had a rubbish night, being awake from 0200, was awake until 4ish then dozed until now.
Today will bring a Tesco shop and, if I’m not too tired, the monthly OAP film in the church hall this afternoon.
That’s some work/organisation, Ash; well done your DGD and Co.

Good morning everyone from a slightly damp around the edges spot on a hillside in south Glos, not enough rain I suspect.
Yesterday was thankfully cooler and we had a welcome rain shower during the afternoon.
I really need to spend this week sorting out the garden now it’s cooler. Everything is growing well and some plants need judicious restraint before they completely overwhelm less robust plants. I’m hoping we’ll have some substantial rainfall once I’ve finished 🤞🏻
Off for a dog walk shortly, heading for the woods and fields in the village now it’s cooler.

Good morning from a brightening start in Crewe from where we depart today by train to begin our journey back to Torbay.

Yesterday we helped with the second performance of the dance show in Hanley. DH gathered these statistics:-
“In two hours, plus an interval, there were 35 dances, performed by 91 girls and two boys, all aged between 3 and 18. My DGD danced in 13 of them. Two of them, danced by the seven very youngest girls, required the Principal to be on stage with them to encourage and lead - and DGD aged 12, worked with her on that. No two dances used the same costume, so the number of costumes was huge - as were the number of costume changes undertaken by some of the dancers! We watched Saturday evening’s performance, and yesterday we sold programmes and raffle tickets, which we then separated and folded for selection while the first part was on-stage, before sitting at the back for the second.

Individual dancers inevitably varied in talent, despite coaching. The dance disciplines were just as varied, including street and acro dance, which leave me cold but are highly energetic, and include rolls, cartwheels and backflips. Clever, athletic - but hardly dance steps!

All this took place in the Mitchell Arts Centre, in Hanley. This was named in memory of Reginald Mitchell, who hailed from Stoke, and accordingly has Spitfire logos here and there. It was opened in 1957 by Douglas Bader.”

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. We had a very moody sunrise this morning and now thick cloud, but it’s blissfully cool. It must have rained quite heavily during the night. The garden will be grateful. My trip to IKEA with DD and the menfolk yesterday was productive, but we seemed to be walking round in there forever, it’s so big.
Today, I shall go to the gym early and then the rest of the day will be weather dependent. Hopefully some gardening.

Good morning Mick and all. An unusually early start for me from Berkshire as I’m flying to the Bahamas (new to me) this morning with DD.
We had a quiet day yesterday. just enjoying a good roast dinner at a pretty local pub and DD gave me a pedicure which I really appreciate.
