Lost my earlier post but still wanted to check in. Washing out just as grey skies gathered so we’ll see what happens. No other plans for the day but several cupboards are crying out for a sort out so that may be a plan.

Marydoll, I completely sympathise on the church admin. People forget this is a voluntary role.
I was PCC Secretary for several years and was constantly hounded by 1 particular individual if I didn't respond to her emails within 20 minutes.
I was working, had 2 children, an elderly mum and a MiL I was a carer for.
I attended every meeting and training session and helped on 4 other church things. Everyone used to say my meeting minutes and APCM document gathering and admin were thorough and always ahead of the deadlines.

I finally had enough and gave advance notice that I would be stepping down at the next APCM.
Cue much gnashing of teeth and the person who'd caused me the most stress at 1st tried to persuade me to stay, with lots of gushing praise and then went onto blank me when she realised I wouldn't change my mind!

I told the Vicar I was stopping because of family responsibilities, but I wish I'd told him the truth as I found out later that I wasn't the only person she upset.

We all do our best, Marydoll, and you sound like you need to focus on your health. Take care.

Good morning everyone from cloudy windy Lancashire. The sun keeps trying to break through.

Yesterday was very windy, we set off for our usual morning walk, but had to head for home as the wind kept trying to steal the walker and push us into the dock. At least we made the effort. We will try again this morning as the wind doesn’t seem as fierce.

Good morning fen.Bucks where it is bright and breezy.
DDs 1&2 are coming for dinner this evening prior to going off on holiday together tomorrow. They requested quiche and salad or lasagne depending on what n the weather. Lasagne is made and I’ll make the quiche this morning. Whichever is not used will go in the freezer.
I think I might also start putting things in a case ready for going off to Wales on Thursday.

My DS is 51 today. I reminded him last night about when I was in hospital for 10 days after his birth. One of the nurses came looking for me and said ‘Why are you in the TV room when you should be feeding your baby’ ? I quickly replied ‘I am watching the tennis from Wimbledon and I don’t know when I shall ever have time to watch it again’. I’m still an avid fan. 😀

My goodness, MD. Not just a novella, a full novel today. At least, your head seems clearer. Hope all improves as the days go on.
In laws are difficult, aren’t they.
I make very, very few demands on DD, but always seem to take second place to her in-laws. They are lovely people, but, oh, so much more interesting than me. Not whinging, btw, just feel rather hurt and surplus to requirement.

Good morning all from breezy and wet Glasgow, where it is 11°C . DH has abandoned the golf.

I have absolutely nothing to report, yesterday, yesterday, I did absolutely nothing, apart from make sure my hospital bag is accessible for DH..
Looking for new pyjamas (I have a stash in prep for hospital stays), I found brand new bottoms, but no top. It is nowhere to be found, although I know it is part of a set. A mystery indeed.
I had to do it in stages, as I felt quite light headed, but an achievement, nevertheless.

I had hoped DS would visit, to have a quick look at my PC, to allow me to decide whether to repair or replace it.
However, they were visiting DIL's, family who take priority.
That sounds a nippy remark, but my son drops everything to accommodate her sisters, who see him as a taxi service and picker up of their children from clubs.
It sometimes hurts, more so because I am feeling quite fragile at the moment and everything seems worse.

Then the old MD gave herself a shake and I decided that I would find away around this IT problem and somehow update the parish website, with important information.
I had put off asking DH if I could use his PC, it is just a muddle of files and chaos. Of course that drives me mad. And don't get me started on the state of his desk!!
However, beggars can't be choosers, I asked and he kindly offered me the use of it.

Armed with my phone and tablet, I went on his PC. To my utter amazement, after some time, using every device, to receive access codes and going through a very circuitous route, up popped the website and I managed to access it. I had not lost my touch after all. Tenacity is my middle name.
After deleting the no longer relevant information, I prepared to upload the latest news items, but how?
I had the bright idea of emailing DH the items and then copying them onto the website.
With GDPR regulations in mind, 😉 I asked his permission to access his email account. Great idea, I smugly thought. Unfortunately, I could not find his email account anywhere. 😕.
I trotted downstairs to ask him, how to access it.
OH IT DOESNT WORK, he said, you have to use web mail. GRRRRRRR!
Am I a mind reader??? How on earth would I know that?
With much huffing and puffing, he came upstairs and opened his account up for me.
To conclude, the website is now up-to-date and I won't have certain parishioners nipping my ear s.
You wouldn't believe the complaints we get from a minority of parishioners, who know nothing about IT and think I am an employee, if the website is not up to date and the bulletins are not emailed

Flushed with success and mighty relieved, I retreated to the conservatory, I was wiped out. Sitting dozing, I suddenly felt someone throwing themself at me.
It was my beloved Dollie, with two sticky buns in hand, as a treat. 😍
Her parents had forgotten to give me the alarm fob before they went on holiday to Malta today. Their alarm is under the stairs and on the last occasion, I got stuck and bumped my head, trying to get out.😱

After dinner I had just put out the ice cream and strawberries from the garden, when the doorbell rang. It was DIL's mother.
Her parents are off on holiday with her evil sister and she had realised that there was no-one to check the house.
Surprisingly, she stayed for ages, which is unusual my much anticipated ice cream was by now a puddle.
DS and DIL, despite the parents' awful behaviour in the past are trying to mend bridges for Dollie's sake and I am trying my best to support them.
She admitted that she and DIL's father, were dreading the holiday, having been backed into a corner. DIL's father hates flying, he suffers from travel sickness (the villa is two and a half hours from from the airport), he hates foreign food and the people don't speak English 😉. Not a good omen.
DIL, thinks they are basically there to be childminders.😔

Today another gentle day is planned, apart from picking up prescriptions. Unusual for me, but because my brain is mush, I have run out of a drug.

Safe journey to all who are travelling and a gentle day for all, myself included, who are struggling.

I am clearly improving, given the length of this novella.😉

Good morning everyone from a sunny but windy south coast. I need to water the allotment before I do my food shop but that can’t be until after high tide at 10am.
This afternoon I need to get my chosen piece of classical music sorted for Wednesday’s U3a group. The theme is Summer and there will be loud groans if anyone takes Vivaldi! 😂

Good morning from Shropshire.Heavy rain yesterday evening but a sunny start today.

We had a lovely afternoon at the church service and afternoon tea at our church yesterday.

Like BlueSapphire I enjoy an hour with a cuppa and my ipad but no such luxury today as DD1’s dog is staying with us and although she normally wakes about 8 something woke her at 6.45 today so up we got😴

Today we are going to Staffordshire to collect DGS1 from school.Always a nice day☺️

Your DGD’s dance show sounds very similar to our DGD’s dance show Ash.I am always impressed by the sheer amount of organisation, the costume changes and the skills of the young dancers and choreographers.

Safe travels to holly, Ash, olddudders and anyone else on the move today.

My thoughts are with Marydoll, FGT2 and anyone else with mountains to climb.

Good Morning from a cool, very windy Durham. DD2 landed on time yesterday. Had to explain to a 4yr old why he can’t go straight off on another holiday. He’s going to tell his little friends at Nursery all about it today.
I’m meeting a friend for our usual Monday morning coffee, then I’d like to get a bag of compost to plant up some left over petunias.

Light rain yesterday morning washed the dust off the plants, suspect it didn’t penetrate far. The family birthday bash was fun, our not so Littlest had a whale of a time which lifted our spirits to see

Off for a far too early hygienist appointment this morning, Chi-Mi this afternoon.

Eye hospital for me tomorrow means a very early start so I’ll wish everyone the best day possible for today and in advance for tomorrow.

Good morning Mick and everyone from cool, grey and showery Carlisle.
Looks like it will be much like yesterday, frequent showers, some very heavy. I went out in the garden and got 4 alyssum planted before the heavens opened again! There was also a stiff, chilly wind so it was easy to persuade myself to stay indoors the rest of the day. I just pottered at this and that and read the papers. A delivery finally arrived at 7pm, the poor driver arriving during a torrential downpour.

This morning. I will just crack on with routine cleaning and laundry. In the afternoon, I'd like to get out and plant one or two things in the garden but if that's not possible, it's reading and admin, paperwork needs filing....boring!

Good morning from a very windy but dry NE.
SIL helped me with jobs around the house yesterday, one of the computers had some issues that he resolved.
The landline was not showing incoming call numbers, had to go to BT and activate it on the website, why did it suddenly stop working ? Been there like forever.
SIL has a problem with neighbours who are inconsiderate, noisy during the early hours and keeping him awake. Yesterday he was upset when he arrived because he had seen too many people getting into their car including a baby and a toddler that we're not secured in child seats. I agreed that it was worrying as the female of the family is a nurse and should not be endangering life.
SIL owns his flat but all around him are rented and you have no guarantee that you are going to have good tenants.
Quiet day to myself but will talk to my sister at some point, she is having a colonoscopy tomorrow and is distraught. At hospital appointment the nurse told her she was at higher risk of having cancer because I have had it, not helpful.

Good morning all and it’s bright and breezy here on the Suffolk coast. Lovely to be back enjoying the peace . I slept really well as it was cool and very quiet. No loud voices passing by, no car doors slamming, no motorbikes roaring past , no foxes screaming to each other. Bliss!

I’ll do a spot of housework today, removing cobwebs and wood lice that gather in corners and clean a few windows. Dh will potter around the garden and I’ll get him down onto the beach for a bit of excercise - going up and down the steps will be good.

Later we’ll sit out and enjoy the sea air.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and sunny. Hollysteers have a lovely holiday. Ash safe journey home. The dance display sounds like the one my DD used to be in.
Yesterday it rained off and on for most of the morning. I felt a bit unwell so opted for a lie down in the afternoon. I slept for a couple of hours. I thought I would struggle last night but I slept fairly well and my feet didn't bother me as much.
Today starts the last week of school/nursery for the boys. Dgs1 has met his teachers(job share) for next year. Dd isn't too sure about one of them but time will tell. Dgs2 goes on his nursery trip to a nature park and has given DD full instructions as to the contents of his packed lunch. He has another year at nursery and it'll be a change for him as he's the only one left in his wee group.
I have no plans. I'll be glad when I can start being normal again. Still no bending and the weeds are flourishing which is annoying me. Tonight's dinner is a chicken curry from the freezer. Have a good day all
