Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 14° and wet. GrandMattie that is a shame. That manager was in your corner, wasn't she/he? Ash that's quite a journey! As you say, worse for the train driver.
Yesterday was another non event. I was sitting on the couch reading when I heard hammering outside. My lovely, very elderly neighbour was fixing one of my fence posts which his wife had noticed last week was loose. I have such considerate neighbours. Later DD let me know about dgs2's trip. He had a whale of a time but his lunch box, which he had carefully filled and was looking forward to, disappeared! It was probably dds fault as she hadn't put his name on it, but he was very disappointed. Some other child has been given it.
Today I'm still housebound but will try to fill my day somehow. I might go out around the block for a walk as my muscles need the exercise. Have a good day all.

The manager is retiring; she has been intending to for absolutely ages, before I moved here 2 years ago, so it's not a shock, the shock was the very, very short notice...

grandMattie Tue 24-Jun-25 07:21:36

What a shocking journey, Ash. I bet uou're glad tobe home safe and sound.
Re. Management fees - you must be joking! They've gone up by over 10% from this April; Anchor won't let go of all that money so easily, methinks.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cloudy with rain forecast for later
Hoping all hospital appointments go well today
I’m off to the gym for aerobics and then line dancing today, there’s time in between the two classes for coffee with a few of the ladies. I’ll then enjoy my walk back into town by the river before getting the bus home
Lovely nails Bellas
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a grey but dry NE.
I am hoping the wind will decrease today, it has been so blustery.
Nothing planned for today, probably just some tidying round.
Window cleaner is coming, good timing as the seagulls have splattered the lounge window.
Have a good day.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex, it’s cloudy this morning and we’ve just had a light shower. It feels cool but a warm sunny day is forecast for later. Yesterday I went for my usual walk but didn’t see any of my usual dog walking friends. It was windy and cool and no one was sitting around chatting! I pottered around all day, planted some fuchsias in tubs, I had intended to put them in the garden, but the ground is too hard to dig holes in. Also did some ironing, all boring stuff, but necessary.
ashcombe, a marathon journey yesterday, and very tiring no doubt. grandmattie the imminent retirement of the building manager must have been an unwelcome shock.
mizuna your knitting group sounds fun, especially the coffee and cake!
Have the best day possible everyone, thoughts as ever with those who are struggling.

Good morning from a grey W Kent. This morning DGD2 is going to collect me and we are going out shopping and a light lunch. Hope I’m up to the walking, she is nearly 6ft and strides out.
gM can they legally get rid of your Manager surely that was part of the deal?
Best wishes

Good morning from the Essex coast. We've had rain during the night but another warm day is forecast.
DH has a very early hospital appointment, 08.30, so we have to leave in an hours time. I will drop him off and return for him later.
Club admin to keep me busy and a letter to finish to our local council. I wonder if I will get a productive reply.
I feel for you GM, managers and management companies are so hard to work with and they take your money for the privilege.
We decided to do it ourselves 6 years ago and it works beautifully, well most of the time.
Have a good day everyone, best wishes to all xx

Good morning from a cloudy and breezy Torbay.

Unfortunately, we had a horrendous journey home yesterday. Having vacated the hotel in Crewe at 7.30 am we didn’t arrive home until 4.00 pm! We should have been in Torquay by 1.00 pm but two fatalities on the railway, one at Wolverhampton, one at Highbridge led to delays and diversions. Inconvenient for staff and passengers but worse for the train drivers who can be so traumatised that they have to give up their occupation completely.

At one point we were on Temple Meads station for an hour where I thought of you, grandMattie. What a shock regarding your manager! Will the management fees be reduced if the on site help is now part time?!

Today, I shall go to Props this morning then I have an eye appointment at the hospital this afternoon regarding my glaucoma.

Beautiful nails, Bellasnana!

Have a good day, everyone! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a cool overcast South Yorkshire. I think we are in for a damp day. It was touch and go with the rain yesterday and it was very breezy but I managed to get laundry dry. In the afternoon, I took a drive over to a garden centre in the hope of getting some trailing geraniums but instead, came back with a pair of new shoes. The garden centre has a shopping mall attached to it - none of them are just garden centres anymore.
I have a volunteer session at school today which I hope to walk to, weather permitting.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from Cornwall where it's drizzling. Lovely! Am delighted that I've discovered a professional pattern cutter in my town, who does 1-to-1 sessions and is happy to take on my unconventional ideas for garment making. Am excited to explore my next Boro jacket project with her.

My knitting group meets this afternoon - 10 of us, all with allotments, lots of energy and chat. Plus coffee and cake of course!

Good morning, it’s a cloudy by dry start here in south Glos, fervently hoping for some rain 🌧️, the garden is a dust bowl.
I spent an hour gardening yesterday morning and I will do more when I get back from the hairdresser.
We had a lovely early walk yesterday, saw 7 deer (some at very close quarters). One of the fields has been sown with a wonderful mixture of plants; there are beautiful poppies, milk thistle with deep purple flowers, sunflowers growing strongly, corn cockle, spurge and many others. It’s going to look amazing in a few weeks!
I’ll walk tiddler this morning, bigger dog has her dog walker, we’ll head off around the lanes and bridleway I think.
Have a lovely day 🌹

grandMattie Tue 24-Jun-25 05:42:17

Lovely nails, Bella. I am very envious as I have ghastly hands and even worse nails.

grandMattie Tue 24-Jun-25 05:41:11

I forgot.
I’m very annoyed with the top management of the housing. They have sent us a letter giving us one weeks’ notice to say that the resident manager is retiring on Monday. She is not being replaced, her house is to be sold!
We have about 4 people taking charge of us on a daily basis, none of whom we have met. The office is in the manager’s house, so where will the stand in managers be based, goodness knows!

Bellasnana Tue 24-Jun-25 05:39:31

Good morning from Malta where another sunny day is dawning with temperature reaching high 30’s.

The boys were no trouble yesterday. DD2 FaceTimed from Florida on her way to work and the boys were so sweet chatting to her.

I went to do my nails in the afternoon and am happy with them. Picture in case you’re interested, try not to look at my wrinkly old fingers!😂

This morning I’ll. ring the boys to mine for a paddling pool session. We can only sit out between about 9 and 10.30 as it gets too hot after that.

They’ll be happy playing though and we’ve lots of books to read.

Spoke to my nephew last night and the funeral of my BiL isn’t until 21st July so plenty of time to get myself organised.

Must book dog into kennels today and get his vaccinations up to date.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

grandMattie Tue 24-Jun-25 05:34:29

Good morning from a grey Bristol.
We are promised rain today but I’m not holding my breath. I’ve got washing to dry, so it’s a bit hit and miss for line drying…
I was amused at the number of people I recognised and greeted yesterday. Considering I’ve only been here such a short while, it shows how friendly the locals are.
A quiet day today; just a committee meeting of the “United OAP charities this afternoon, to finalise the details of the fete in the middle of next month, to be held in the church. I’ve taken charge of the catering.
Enjoy your day.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good Morning Everyone,
Its light , but its a grey sky over brackley with some overnight rain.
Today ,usual routine with bus to Bicester ,see and speak to people I know .
Brackley today is well featured on TV at lunchtime with a repeat of Bargain hunt programme, I have a feeling it may partly appear in the new Brad Pitt film F1 as Mercedes are based in the town.
Health wise OK ,
Take Care,
Mick
