Good Morning Tuesday 24th June 2025

Well to be honest the affected eye is not good because I had to stop treatment when my H couldn’t be left on his own and the visit for treatment was taking 3/4 hours.
The injections halt the progress of the AMD rather than treating it but I had to get my priorities right.
If caught early it is a great help though in saving the sight you have.
I now have the dry version in my right eye, it is being checked every six months and so far it is stable.

Good morning everyone. I headed home last night. It's raining here, but the garden looks much more refreshed than when I left it on Thursday.
Quiet day planned. Going to try to finish a 1500 piece jigsaw puzzle and make up a knitted jacket for 1 of DS's pregnant friends.

Love your nails, Bellasnana. I've git gardeners nails, but I usually get them done in December for party season.

My nails are shocking, often they improve in the summer months but not so far. DD suggested I might be lacking in zinc. Lovely nails, Bellasnana, I am so envious of anyone with good, strong nails.

I read every day but seldom post.
Just wanted to say to kitty that I had injections for WAMD for at least 18 months and it truly is nothing to fear.
The first one is terrifying in imagination but after that it becomes routine.
The drops for several days after each one was difficult as I had no one to do them and it was hit and miss as more ran down my cheek than reached its goal however they did the trick and never got an infection.
Dull and damp here in Stockport but my social calendar, now nearly nonexistent, won’t be troubled.

My lovely young cleaner is coming this afternoon so after lunch I’ll put the heating on in my garden room and granddog and I can retreat there while she transforms my home. Actually it’s changing my bed for me that is the best bit.
She’s a really nice girl and her other job is as a carer, so she’s always asking me if I want ‘a wee cup of tea’ while she’s here😊

Yesterday’s walk had to be abandoned, I spent the day going through heaps of documents, sorting them into keep, bin and shred. I think today will be more of the same. MrB has been to Lidl and to the farm butchers so we can hunker down.

Grey and still this morning so quite conducive to a morning’s admin plus pestering the car repairers for news of my car which is still apparently waiting for some small part or other. The insurance approved company have had it since 27 May and the repair was not a big one so I am beyond fed up. May have forgotten how to to drive at this rate!

Good morning A bit late today, no particular reason. Rain overnight and dull now in N. Bucks.

Big smile yesterday , I was a n a local shop when I heard a small child singing, immediately knew it was our youngest DGS. I wandered around to the next use he spotted me and ran with arms outstretched . A cuddle and then he said “ you are the best Nana in the world !” He is such a happy little boy.

Some ironing and a few other jobs to do this morning and a couple of cards to make this afternoon. Watercolour painted ones I think.

I am going to a book launch this evening, and there's a drop in public consultation at the Town Hall about the future of that building, otherwise nothing planned.

Yesterday's concert was terrific. At the end 4 choirs (including a Gaelic one and Loud and Proud) on the stage at the Usher Hall together.

I slept for 8 hours last night without waking up, first time in ages at home ( I slept like a log in holiday)

The 10 ur old is not feeling that well, so he is coming here instead of school. He is no trouble such a good boy.

Lovely nails Bellasnanna I am rather boring, I usually have a pail pink or French in the summer and a really dark rouge noir all winter.

Morning from a dull S Hants, still no rain and none forecast. Yesterday I madly bought two pairs of shorts as I reluctantly threw two very old, but comfy pairs out.
Quiz was fun, we came fourth though, it does cheer up a Monday evening and gets us out.
We’re off to Weston Super Mare for a few days, hoping for a glimpse of ☀️
Very pretty Bellas wouldn’t last five minutes on me, always scrabbling in dirt.

Good Morning everyone from a cloudy and windy south coast. I woke up feeling really tired and wishing I could stay in bed but it’s back to the allotment to do more planting out. Two of the gang will be on holiday after today and we’re already a bit thin on the ground which makes it hard for me as they expect me to keep it all tickety boo for them.
My ‘locals’ are very friendly as well, grandMattie. I made more friends in a few months than I did in years where I used to live. It makes moving when you are older so much easier.

The doctor at the eye clinic suggested that I start having injections for my WMD so I have an appointment next week.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where is 13°C.

Another quiet day yesterday. I'm finding that I have to do everything in short stages, then rest.
However, after a 💡moment and the help of Google, I eventually nanaged to retrieve all my missing Diocesan email files and distribution lists from the ether, using my old tablet. It took some time, but I felt very pleased with myself, when I realised that I am not an old fool after all.
#smug geek.😉
The icing on the cake was that at last, I have been able to add my Diocesan email account to my new phone. I have been unsuccessfully trying for the last six months.
It just makes life easier for me.
On reading this back, I have realised, what a sad life I lead, if that is what excites me.🤣

Today, I shall drive DH to Paisley, to get his Covid booster. NHS Inform have taken over an empty unit in the shopping centre.
There is no rhyme nor reason for where we go. I had to go to Glasgow, DH Paisley and my liver transplant friend to Greenock!
What if you can't drive? It would mean a bus, then a train.
I have no plans, nor inclination to shop in the few establishments remaining. Resting is the plan. I must be unwell, if I don't want to shop! 😉

GM, I am puzzled by all this management business. It is as if you don't really own your home and are restricted in what you can do or not do. It would put me off buying.
As for the leasehold scenario, thank goodness, we don't have that in Scotland.

We received a message last night from Dollie, who is on holiday in Malta. We had great fun, pretending that she was an imposter and had to prove, who she was.
She was obviously having a great time.
DS seems to be revisiting all the holiday destinations of his childhood. Malta was a firm favourite.

Good morning all and we have a little rain here at the Suffolk seaside. The forecast says it will clear up and be warm and sunny later.

Yesterday was pleasant but very blustery. Our neighbours heavy parasol blew into our garden and she came bustling round, full of apologies , bless her, worried that it had hit one of us. The three of us soon has it sorted and taken back , rolled up, back to her garden.

This morning we have the chimney sweep coming and hopefully he’ll find a blockage and clear it. The last time we used it, our neighbour (same lady) knocked to say, smoke was coming into her cottage. (Again full of apologies from her). 😢.
We’re hoping we don’t need a new liner. 🤞.

It’s our DGD 3’s birthday today. Sweet sixteen. ! Just finished GCSE’s, Prom in a couple of weeks and then off to Malta with the family and summer parties with friends abounding. Living her best life! 💃🏻
Oh to be 16 again! 🥳.
I left school on my 16th birthday and started work the following Monday in London. No long summer festivities in those days. I met my Dh 2 weeks later.

Good morning everyone from an overcast and damp Northampton, but should clear up a bit later.

Did very little yesterday after yoga, two loads of washing which dried on the line very quickly and then I read for the afternoon and now have only the final chapter of my book - 'Olive, Again' by Elizabeth Strout - to read. It is the second collection of stories set in the USA about life in a little New England seaside town, mainly based around the character of Olive, a retired teacher, now mainly regarded as an old battleaxe or 'baggage ' as she is known by other residents. A gentle but often shocking and thought-provoking book.

A morning to catch up on a few things (such as hoovering upstairs and the staircase), and then out to my health walk this afternoon after an early lunch.

OH is going for a hair cut while I’m spending the afternoon with friends. The husband of one is in hospital and sadly will probably never leave.

Tonight is our final pottery class! We have made 9 or 10 pieces each which will have been fired. So tonight we will glaze everything. They will be fired again and we’ll pick everything up in a couple of weeks. Where we will put anything that’s worthy of display, who knows!

I've had enough of rain! Pity I can't waft some south for those of you who need it.
I did manage to get out in the garden yesterday afternoon, one plant in and quite a bit of dead-heading and cutting back. Growth has exploded this year, I'm left scratching my head over one plant whose proposed spot is being gradually crowded out. Today doesn't look like the day I can sort it out.....or go for walk or a possible drive out into the country.
I think I'll be forced to stop procrastinating and get on with some boring but necessary maintenance and cleaning.

I started yesterday morning by giving my halo a good polish and giving my cooker hood a good spring clean. I investigated my charcoal filters. The manual said to change every four months...it's been 4 years... I still have the originals. I ordered replacements and boggled at the price. I bet no one on this development spends that amount of money on 4 monthly replacements!
A nice end to the day, peas were finally ready for picking a few pods so I enjoyed them for dinner. They are doing splendidly this year. The slugs seem to not like peas but have ravaged my runner and french beans for the third year running.

grandMattie, sadly that seems to be the trend...live in managers disappearing to be replaced by day staff and certainly no reduction in fees! It's not good.
