Age is just a number

What a wonderful holiday WWM.

May you sit back and luxuriate in those happy memories for weeks to come with a smile on your face.

That is so lovely - it's rare to meet people you quickly click with and enjoy time with.

We were in the Canaries some years ago and got chatting to a couple at the bar, who then joined us for dinner. We were getting on well when we somehow got split up and I realised DH was further along the bar with MrsStranger and I was cornered with MrStranger. MrStranger suggested we go up to his room, as he thought DH was 'enjoying himself with MrsStranger'.

It finally clicked they were a pair of swingers looking for some fun. I would have been worried but the thought of DH being wooed by MrsStranger, and probably looking like a deer caught in the headlights made me laugh so much MrStranger got angry and stormed off, dragging MrsStranger with him. When DH came over he was very white and it took a while for him to see the funny side. We avoided strangers after that for that holiday

I think very old people often think ‘the hell with it’ and do things they wouldn’t have done 10 years ago.Inhibitions go out the window.
Sitting in the heat and knocking back the vino is what British people are always castigating for 😁

It’s nice to meet others on holiday we can get on with well isn’t it?
We have two sets of friends that we met in this way and still keep in touch and meet up as an annual event.

How wonderful.

I have a dear friend who is 97 and we laugh like drains about anything and everything.

She's a real tonic to know

We keep in touch or meet up with several couples we’ve met up with on holiday. They are all older than us except one couple.
One lady died last year, but her husband still keeps in touch by WhatsApp and cards.
It’s fun, but now we’re not the youngest couple anymore. Who knows what this year will bring.

A little detour from the thread here, but Debbie Harry is 80 (yes 80!) today. I’m 6 years younger, but she makes me look/feel old!!

I am mid-70s. My youngest friend is 28 and my oldest is 99. They are both fun and I love being with them.

What a wonderful post, sounds like you had the time of your life. How refreshing not to put limits on enjoyment. Shame some posters just picked up the politics part and not how much laughter was involved. 💃🤣

Good for you, I feel a little envious when you hear of people making friends on holidays as we never do, even though we are friendly don’t get me wrong we chat to different people but we have never really made friends

Enjoyed your post WWM2! I agree the laughter might have been less loud if there was a difference in politics... Being able to completely relax and say what comes to mind with new friends is a joy. Long may it continue for us all.

Agree in principle but why on earth talk politics on holiday? Some people need to get a life!
