I have three children and five Grandchildren, My youngest daughter is going to be having open heart surgery in a few days so family is very important, we are all very close and truthfully we have never had anyone falling out. My eldest daughter and son have worked outa twelve week rota for after my daughters heart surgery and have covered all eventualities , looking after my grandson in the summer holidays has been the biggest concern but they have thought of everything , even my son's in laws are helping. Money will be an issue as my daughter has had to stop work and my son in law is self employed so again we are all making sure that they will not need to worry as between us we will cover the shortfall. When I read some of the posts on Gransnet I find it very sad to see how many families fall out and are estranged and how awful that must be for all concerned and sometimes are wonder just how many families are truly happy and I am I just extremally lucky or do the happy families have no need to post anything?

What a worrying time for you all surfingsal

I wish your daughter well, with a speedy (as possible) recovery.

Oh sufingsal what a stressful time for you.

When we had a traumatic time in my family it was amazing to see them all pull together. One of my DDs said, only this weekend, I am so glad to have siblings as I know they will always be there for me.

I hope all goes well for your DD. flowers
