More important - what (or who) is UNDER your patio!

I daren't THINK what might be under my patio.
I haven't buried anyone. Yet.

Garden furniture and 4 small Aloe Vera plants in pots.
My clothes horses for drying in the hot sun when it comes.
Wildlife is the various neighbourhood cats stopping to peer through our French Doors on their daily circuit. Also micro-ants who quickly scavange any insect corpses.
The first Stink Bug of the season.(Alas).

Reminds me of my brothers bringing slow worms into our garden when I was little to see how slow they were…needless to say they slithered off very quickly! 😂

What Patio? Why do you assume we all have one? I have a yard!

I don't have a patio, but I do have a hare, and I think I still have a hedgehog, as there are very few snails in my garden, and everyone else is complaining bitterly about the huge number of snails they have in their gardens.

Plus a magpie that has abused Trubel so thoroughly that she being the kind of cat who puts up with no nonsense has told him quite frankly what his ultmate fate will be. Quite a number of sparrows and bullfinches leading suicidal lives under the noses of both cats, and by now they know that Tigger catches birds!

I have not seen the toads for a while, but I know where they will be - under the wood-pile that is not ready to be used for the stove until next year. Must go and put out a bowl of water for them.

Forgot to mention the shed! The patio is the only level part of the garden. It is a bit of an eyesore but is decorated with fairy lights and dangly ornaments/

My washing on a clothes horse ready to carry in when it rains, which it did earlier. Also about 100 pots of plants, which I have just watered. They are actually very colourful, the photo doesn't do them justice.

I just have a balcony and when the sun is shining on them I can see snail/slug trails coming down the vertical walls from the flat roof.

I have a rotting garden bench which finally collapsed last year. I'm gradually putting bits of it into the dustbin to save taking it to the dmp!

A rat! Arghhh!

An occasional visitor to ours. It's more usually squirrels and pigeons.

We don't know where the alpine strawberries came from, but the patch gets bigger every year. I think the blackbirds spread them around, they love them.

Runners! They send out runners everywhere and before you know it, they've taken over, including in the cracks in the paving slabs!

Ohh I thought it was a snake Beechnut Twenty odd years ago we had a tiger snake on our decking down at the beach. He slithered away under the house when we opened the back door. That house got the lot, wombats, kangaroos, possums, rats, mice, parrots etc. Probably all gone to God now because of housing developments etc. 🥲

Ground floor flat - small patio containing : four folding chairs; an agapanthus with lots of buds; a pot full of shasta daisies; a flourishing fern; a cherry tree (or it will be) in a big pot; a collection of pots waiting for autumn bulb-planting. Above: full multi-coloured hanging basket.

Canadiangran You'd be very welcome. We're in Looe in Cornwall. It's beautiful.

A very grumpy tortoise - she doesn't like the rain we've got at the moment and is in her little house with just her head peeping out! In contrast, the hostas in pots are loving it.

Barbecue, table and chairs and umbrella. Also the odd mouse or two.

There were times during their teenage years when I eyed each of my children and wondered if they would fit under the patio...
My current regular visitor is a very bold fox. S/he leaves me dog toys from time to time, possibly stolen from other gardens.

They are a leg less lizard CanadianGran. That one was about 12 inches long which is probably about right. We used to find them a lot when we were kids.

Three pots containing 6ft+ tall lily plants I dug out of a flower bed, a table covered in plastic and a crumbling brick built BBQ which was my late husband's domain.
It all needs some TLC so it's my next project.
Recent visiting wildlife includes a fox and 2 muntjac deer.
I'm happy about the fox, less so about the deer.

I've never heard of slow worms. It actually looks like a snake to me. How big are they?
