Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. The sun is shining for the first time in days. I'm sad to be missing the coastal walk today but need to be kind to my new lens.

I have an agent coming to inspect the wee flat for letting and this afternoon I shall walk to a friend's house who is going to show me a new quilting method she has learned.
I had a video chat with the NZ family yesterday and an unexpected call from someone who has used the same architect as I am. She says he's good.

Well done gMattie on being a revolting native! I hope that fairness prevails in your dealings with management.

I am going to Lakeside shopping centre later to have a mooch round and get some food bits in M & S. We have the 10 yr old here for his sleepover tonight, so I need to stock up on goodies

After lunch I will visit DD2 who is at how following yesterday’s biopsy. Tea and a chat.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s a beautiful morning, dry, sunny and with a refreshingly cool breeze! It’s a comfortable 25 degrees indoors, if only it would stay that way. I had a decent sleep last night so am feeling much happier today.
We had a few light showers yesterday but they really didn’t do anything helpful. DGDs 2 &3 enjoyed their “beach day” at school yesterday. Lots of playing in paddling pools and sand pits and an ice cream van!
I’m at DD1s later, keeping the dog company, and will look after DGD1 after school. I’ll call in at DD2’s for a coffee and to look at her garden watering system, I need to replace my old hose with something easier to manage.
mizuna don’t do too much digging on your allotment!
gm I hope your management meeting goes well and you all make your feelings known! Hopefully you’ll get a satisfactory result.

Good morning from Malta where it’s going to ‘feel like’ 40°C.
I think I’ll be staying in with the a/c on.

Yesterday was a bit of a mixture. The boys came to me and were good as gold.

DGS1 fell asleep on the sofa until he was rudely awakened by his brother playing with a noisy toy (on purpose!). He was inconsolable (I feel the same when woken from a daytime nap 😄).

The vet arrived in the midst of this pandemonium, fortunately he is very nice and, coincidentally, also a twin although he and his brother are identical and have similar temperaments unlike our two who are chalk and cheese.

The poor dog had a fever and needed an injection to bring it down. He’s on a course of antibiotics but the vet will return next week to take a blood test. I’m hoping it’s nothing awful but he’s still not eating at all and not himself. Poor boy.

My throat got worse as the day wore on despite hot lemon and honey, Panadol and throat lozenges. Still sore this morning and a headache too. I’m wondering if it’s Covid.

Enjoyed the tennis yesterday and look forward to todays.

Pantglas your poor dad. I hope he will get better soon and I’m sure your visit will lift his spirits.

grandMattie so glad you had such a good holiday. I’m tempted to visit Lithuania myself now. Sorry about all the upset regarding your management company. Hope your meeting will be fruitful and that the area manager won’t know what’s hit him.

Oh no Grandmabatty! I hope the paint washes out! The boys have done similar on my sofa but with Biro which isn’t easy to remove.

Good morning from warm cloudy s somerset, a respite from the heat, I hope

I slept well but am achy this morning, all the lifting, carrying and walking, it takes its toll on old bodies.

I need to dust today, the sun is showing up the marks and dust in my kitchen, the wind seems to blow it through the cooker hood. I think I will also clean and sort my fridge again too. Plus some sewing for relaxation and I will do some stretching exercises

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and brilliant sunshine. A change from the day of rain yesterday. GrandMattie your trip sounds lovely. Good luck with the meeting later. Sallyforth I think you should buy the scones from that bakery. Your day sounds busy enough! Mizuna don't overdo the digging!
Yesterday the boys and I bumbled about the house in the morning because it was heavy rain and their mum hadn't put their wellies in. Dgs1 made up for his helpfulness on Tuesday by drawing all over the sheets in his and his brother's beds. I have no idea what possessed him. Fortunately the paint is washable, so it should come out. He then decided to play with the hand wash in the bathroom and used it all up. Nearly half a bottle. Dgs2 was very well behaved apart from sitting my bed screaming with laughter at his brother. Thank goodness my neighbour is deaf. Later we all went for lunch to a local restaurant and I treated the family. We don't go out very often and usually they treat me so it was nice to repay.
I had a nap in the late afternoon which was a big mistake because I slept badly last night.
Today I intend to go to town and buy some new tee shirts for my forthcoming holiday. I might buy some new cropped trousers too. Then it'll be washing those blooming sheets and hanging them out. I want new blinds so I might contact a local company to quote. I want some rooms painted too so I need to contact my decorator.. Beef stroganoff for w. Have a good day all

Good morning from a bright, but not so hot Black Country.

A quick outing to the Merry Hill shopping centre yesterday, where I managed to find a lovely pair of shoes to go with a new dress for the 2 parties this month. Plus a white top from Next, just what I have been looking for, for quite a while. They are either too tight, too baggy or see-through!

Walking group walk this morning, we are going along the canal to a great little cafe on the way.

So pleased you enjoyed Lithuania gM your description of the place and the people was spot on! I would love to go back again one day.

Good morning from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
Lunchtime recital yesterday with meet up with friend from our music club. I had contact lens trouble in one eye, but it settled down after ruining my eye makeup 🙄. The concert was a little heavy for my friend, but not for highbrow me😁

We then repaired to our usual cafe. Sadly a woman had been taken ill just outside where we were sitting and not long after paramedics arrived, I hope she’s ok.
We had a nice time discussing the various characters in the club and three hours flew by.
In the evening, a long FaceTime with my Dsister in the south and today will carry on with a painting promised for my DSon.

Glad your holiday worked out well grandMattie, my Dsister makes her way to the same destination next month.

Good morning from Cornwall where it's sunny and very still, not a leaf is moving where usually there's a breeze across my patio from the sea.

Lots of fun at our craft group yesterday. The ex-biker was sewing another Jimi Hendrix patch for his jacket. See pic.

After the school run I noticed an unusual creature in my son's pond and my seven-year-old grandson said, 'I wish you could live here Nana, maybe as a sort of stepmother, because you always spot unusual things.' 😂😂

Today I'm at my allotment, preparing the ground for winter veg planting. I've two very compacted beds which need a lot of work.

Good morning from a dry Bristol.
DS and I had an easy journey home after a wonderful, packed few days in Lithuania. I cannot praise the country more; they are cheerful, polite, most speak English. The streets are clean, the summer temperatures perfect. The museums we visited - that’s what we both love - are well curated, very interesting and inexpensive. The pride of the population in their history and country is very evident. Well worth a visit.
Nice to be home, but falling into “politics” re. retirement of resident manager. The company is not encouraging recruiting another one, wanting to sell her house, etc., bribing us with money in the sinking fund.
Well! 6 flats have been sold in the last 6 months and we haven’t had the benefit, apart from a “jam tomorrow” attitude. The native are revolting. We are holding a pre-meeting tomorrow afternoon, to find out what the main concerns are. The area manager is in for a roasting; we are now united and not the pathetic, gaga OAPs he’s expecting/hoping for!
My neighbour watered my garden so the plants have survived the heat and sun. All is well.

Good morning Mick and Co, it’s a cool dawn here in south Glos, I’m looking forward to more pleasant temperatures (and hoping for rain!)
Bigger dog had her vet check yesterday and pronounced A1, very healthy, despite hating the car journey as usual. The vet has suggested we try a behaviourist so I will look into that. We took her for a wander along a beautifully shaded avenue of trees that borders parkland, afterwards which was very pleasant.
Tiddler and I spent the afternoon snoozing in my Shed, it’s almost unheard of of my sleeping during the day but I just couldn’t keep my eyes open.
This afternoon I have art group, I have no idea what I’m going to paint as usual…… I really need to start planning things better.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a very bright but chill morning in Cheshire. The sun is up and the sky is blue so I'm hopeful it will warm up later.

Did a lot in garden yesterday so I'm aching a bit. Should stop moving heavy planters. I've taken a fancy to having a trompe l'oeil on the far wall, so will be searching later.

This morning is art club, followed by lunch at the wine club, but as I drive it will be coffee for me.

Back to make scones for visitors coming to watch Wimbledon. Then again there is a very nice bakery where I'm going this morning, so I may just buy some. Well, I will prep the strawberries!

Good morning Mick from another lovely day in north Wales, it hasn’t been as scorching 🥵 here as some places and we’re forecast a damp weekend which is probably needed for gardens.

Will give PGTowers a good bottoming this morning 😇 before trotting off to a friend’s for coffee and call on Dad on the way home. His incision isn’t healing, his GP isn’t up to much, the nurses aren’t very gentle, nobody cares…a bit of TLC and some of my tea loaf will do the trick 🤞

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is up in South Yorkshire. Yesterday’s blessed spell of rain did not touch the sides although the plants looked better for it initially.
Our writers group was not well attended yesterday - a combination of ill health, the hot weather and holidays I expect. While I was out I bought myself a nice pair of knee length shorts which I shall wear on my holiday (if DD will allow me out in shorts😱😁!).
Walking group this morning, then lunch with DD and home to do some housework and a bit of gardening.
