Get out in it? I hate the heat and hot days are wasted sitting inside with blinds down and the fan on day and night. I walk the dog very early but can’t take her out again until a bedtime wee.
I know most people love it but I can’t stand anything over 23.

I loathe temperatures above about 23C. I hide somewhere and “melt” in the dark.
It’s ironic as I was born and brought up on a tropical island -but then I didn’t cope with the heat there and was only too glad to move here!

I agree that it’s beautiful while it last but I’m fair skinned and I’m not a fan of hot weather. I hate the curtains closed in the house to keep down the temperature and I love the end of the summer and early autumn. Beautiful skies and a cooler temperature.

Hubby is mowing the lawn and I am sitting at the patio table trying to do some thing new with beads......I love the summer though it never really gets hot around us here

I do prefer summer and being outside more, but not intense heat.

Never mind, Bukkie, we're heading towards Christmas now.

I am with you Mizuna, I love Autumn and the start of dark nights. My mood lifts once we pass 21st June and I know the nights are drawing in. I don't mind summer but I don't like light nights and the anti social behaviour associated with them.

I shall have to tie DH's hat to his head, he keeps misremembering he has several.

My DH has heart failure, has had bypass surgery and has a pace maker. Weather like that we had last week and is forecast this week could kill him.

Neither he nor I will be 'getting out into this lovely weather'.

He will be staying indoors in the coolest part of the house keeping up his fluid intake and taking cool baths. I am off to buy some more hydrating drinks with the necessary salts and minerals.

I don’t like very hot weather and am now heartily sick of hot sunshine and more on the way for the next fortnight up to 30 and over.

I do love the sunny warm weather but not when it gets too hot. I love autumn, winter and spring too.
Lots of good things in all the seasons.

We have just bought an air con unit and an additional large floor fan. Have great hopes.

I think for people who really struggle with the heat, it’s time now to recognise this is the future weather pattern for the UK, and to prepare, if you can afford to, get a couple of air conditioning units so that you don’t suffer too badly next time it inevitably gets too hot for your comfort.

Yes both my AC have air conditioning units, and they also have solar panels.

So free air conditioning.

A friend returned yesterday from the Lakes after two weeks of rain and temperatures of 16 - 19 degrees. The cottage cost £1200 per week!

I've been trying to buy a cooler for the bedroom as UK windows do not lend themselves to aircon units for venting. Many out of stock until August. Ended up paying £98 for a 43" tall cooler one (add water and ice blocks). I am a bit dubious about their cooling effect though, reviews are mixed. Our bedroom has 3 windows and gets very hot even with the usual curtains/windows closed during the daytime. 31 degrees forecast next weekend.

Plants stop photosynthising at 46 degrees and there will be widespread famine and emigration Some countries in Europe are experiencing temperatures in the 40's now. It is so frightening but still we have climate crisis denial and politicians not doing enough. There should be immediate bans on frequent fliers. Increase taxes on private jets and yachts as for cruise ships ...

We had mid 30s temps here last week. 🥵. At the moment the temp outside our kitchen window is 19.6! Outer SW London.
Had lots of lovely rain yesterday and last night.🙂

I dread hot weather, loathe every minute. If it weren’t that I’ll be even older by the winter I would really look forward to it, cold weather, dark nights and all.

I am a summer baby, I love the hot weather, wear sunscreen all year round on my face, and slap it on when out in the summer sun.

I think we are all old enough to know about sun safety.

Yes we’re should be, but I’m slightly neurotic about it at the moment, - sister having pretty drastic treatment for melanoma, and just this week talked to an ex-service man who also had melanoma as a result of his service in the Middle East. In his case the treatment was extremely drastic but 🤞he is nw in complete remission. In fact he is moving lock stock and barrel plus 4 dogs and 3 cats to Isle of Harris - the experience has made him re-think the whole of his life.

Well it’s cloudy here in SW Wales, and when I was hanging the washing out ,it had the temerity to drizzle. Brightening a little. now but quite breezy.

We are travelling to Harrogate for the Great Yorkshire Show, we have tickets for tomorrow. It will be a lovely change having warm sunny weather.
When DH and I go on holiday we are usually plodging about in muddy puddles.

There' s summer weather lovely after a long winter and not much spring.

And then there's 29 to 31 deg for about 8 days here. Not so lovely and dangerous for my DH with respiratory and heart problems.

It really does depend on where in the UK you are. Relations on the Kent and Dorset coast will have 26 deg max. Lovely. They will keep out of the 11 to 3 sun as are sensible and want to avoid skin damage.
This morning was actually chilly here in N. Surrey as well as wet. It's quite extraordinary to think it will be 30 deg on Thursday.

We have had rain this morning.
