Good morning Mick and everyone from cool, grey Carlisle. Back to the usual after one lovely, blue-skied, warm day yesterday.
I got out into the garden after a busy morning inside and planted a new shrub to replace my diseased shrub rose. I'd have preferred another rose but not good to put another in the same spot.
Today will be ironing and then I really must get down to booking flights to Australia, must make a decision on airline and routes instead of dithering and wondering about wars and volcanoes going off. Do that then I can reward myself with a new book.

Sorry you have that painful decision to make Bella, so sad....

Yesterday , I went to M&S food hall, DH has a penchant for hot cross buns. I got back to my car and realised that I had forgotten to pay for a large baguette. ( How could I miss it?), I have done this a few times recently, due to this terrible brain fog. I am paranoid, about checking my trolley.
On my way back, I began to feel unwell, then realised I had nothing to drink with me. It took four attempts to get an item from the vending machine, which did not take cash. Grrr.
All the while, I was feeling more and more lightheaded. I had to sit and people watch, until it passed.

It had taken ages to get out, due to DH looking for a fuse for the lawnmower!
Unfortunately, it had given up the ghost, so he limped to B&Q to purchase a new one (he has pulled a muscle in his rear end,
golfing), where he broke is toe, bumping into a trolley! 😬

We have Dollie today, but DH can hardly walk, so it will need to be a girl's day! 💕
It means I will not have to listen to his contant ouches, every time he changes position. Despite being deaf, I can still hear every moan and groan.🤣
I have been a dutiful wife and been very attentive, but kept reminding him that this is what I endure on a daily basis. 😉

Good morning from my overcast patio in Cornwall. I'm in the company of a new baby robin with a half-speckled, half-orange breast. It's trying to decide whether it's brave enough to go down my steps to the oats I've put out. Oops no, the blackbird has pushed in.

Today I'm doing my usual school pick-up of my youngest grandchildren, after which I've been invited to my grandson's Beavers barbecue with their dad, my eldest son.

The young artist I've been helping has developed tremors throughout her body and is nervously awaiting the results of an MRI scan. Waiting is always tough.

Good morning everyone. It is a little overcast but fairly warm. The Dorcas says plenty of sunshine by this afternoon.
Today the six of us are going to Cadgwith. We’ll park up the top and walk down past the tin church. Lunch near the small beach and then up to sit in the headland with views of the sea and the cove.
I hope for improvement for those struggling in any way and a good day wished for all.

Good morning all. It’s a sunny, dry morning in Glasgow, reaching a high of 20deg. will be a pleasant day. I am not looking forward to the heatwave which begins on Friday. Far too hot at 30deg. and very uncomfortable.

Work has started in the garden and it looks like a bomb site at present. I just have to keep reminding myself….it will be worth it! I’m looking forward to another catch up with TopsyIrene this morning. Both of us shopping followed by coffee in their cafe and of course lots of blethering.

Been up early as today is my brothers funeral. I have sat and thought about our early days and know it’s time to say goodbye. This last month has taught me how fragile life is enjoy every moment all. You all have kept me going reading your posts.

Good morning from sunny s somerset, heat is building already

I have been in the garden, needed to water my squash at the roots, they are massive plants growing in 2 halos on top of veg trugs, mini butternuts which will store for a long time. Also I put shade net over my baby brassicas in pots to get tlc before I put them out at the allotment. Two have shrivelled so far and the shade will help

I am dreaming at night again, pleased about that deeper sleep, no bad dreams. Last night about skeletal structure, it looked perfect, I wish.

I downloaded a 24 hour $6 pattern offer last night at 9, printed it on A4 and cut and stuck it together. Looks like a very nice top with an unusual very easy construction. I will make that today. Itch to stitch, summer special lemont top. 20 pages of A4. Cut out and ready. I finished by 10.30 and went to bed, doing that sort of thing frees my mind for sleep. Thank goodness for my current sewing mojo, it keeps me going with an objective every day, during this heat. My allotment visit will be at 7 this evening, only for a check and quick weeding. I may just water my new asparagus

Morning Mick, morning All from a sunny corner of Somerset.

Sad news grandmattie, our friends are important to us. I’ll be thinking of you and Buzz, bellasnana. A painful decision process we’ve been through twice.

A remarkably quick two hours in the eye hospital finally gave me a diagnosis. There’s a tiny, partly blocked vein needing attention. I should begin treatment fairly soon. We’re both pleased to have a diagnosis although I gulped at the detailed description of the process. Of course many have it and I’m just being a wimp.

Mr C and his foot coped. I was relieved to receive a link to book a surgery physio appointment for him, securing one on Thursday with a physio who has treated us both before. If nothing else it will be good to get our self diagnosis confirmed - or not.

We plan to take chairs to the beach for an hour this morning and do little else today other than try to keep plants alive.

I had a lovely catch up with my ‘oldest’ friend yesterday. It’s her Golden Wedding in a couple of weeks and I was bridesmaid after giving birth to DS2 , 10 days before. I was a skinny Minnie in those days so the dress fitted perfectly.💕.

Not much on today, I’ll go to the bank and then meet a couple of friends for coffee, M and s for a few treats, and run back down the hill for another afternoon of tennis, trying to stay cool.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. A lovely sunny morning here and pleasantly cool at the moment. Forecast is for 26 degrees later. The boiler was serviced yesterday morning, the plumber arrived on the dot of 8.00. I felt quite weary all day but feel better this morning. The washing is on and will be dry by lunchtime. I’ll try to put up a makeshift blind at the back door, it’s glass and faces south and gets the sun from mid morning until late afternoon,
Thinking of you bellasnana, you’re doing your best for poor Buzz, but a worrying time. Look after yourself.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 15° and cloudy. Warming up as the day progresses. Bellasnana it's the hard part of being a pet owner - being able to let them go. 💐 Ash safe journey to France. GrandMattie I'm sorry to hear about your friend. It's such a cruel disease. Nannyjan a busy, sociable time ahead for you.
Yesterday was a good day with the boys compared to Monday. I made dough with their help and left it to prove. We went to soft play which was quiet and cool. Dgs2 made a wee friend and dgs1 played with the babies. He's lovely with little people, just not always his brother! Back home, they were amazed at how much the dough had risen. We knocked it back then left it for an hour while they had a little screen time. After lunch, we were in the garden watering the plants then a walk to the swing park. Then home again where we made peanut butter cookies. Dgs1 loves them and managed to eat three while they were still cooling. Once I'd taken them home, I tidied up superficially but it needs a good clean.
Today I'm picking up my holiday money and spending the rest of the day pottering about the house. Macaroni cheese for dinner as I have milk and cheese to use up. Have a good day all

Good morning from Shropshire where another warm day is forecast.

We had a fairly good visit with mum yesterday.Things won’t get better but she was happy to see us.I talked a lot about the holidays we used to take to Italy which made her smile.

Today a quiet morning then we will collect DGD from school and the three of us will go to Llangollen to watch the parade of nations which is part of the International Eisteddfod.Always very busy but great fun.At the end we follow the parade which means we can get onto the field for £1.

Good morning from a bright and sunny Torbay.

Today we shall be packing up to go to France for nearly a month. Not just clothes, though. DH has lots of “toys” to take in the form of items for his model railway. It works out cheaper to have things delivered here as, since Brexit, import duty is payable in France. We also take baked beans, tea bags, marmalade and jars of curry sauces! My poor little Fiesta will be groaning but it should be good to go, having been serviced and MOT'd last week and with its tyres recently checked for nitrogen pressures.

Unusually for us, we are sailing overnight from Portsmouth to Ouistreham, arriving at DH's tumbledown cottage late morning tomorrow. It’s six months since I last travelled there so I’m looking forward to it. A very different life from here!

Thinking of those GM contributors going through difficult times with bereavement, their health or that of their pets.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Overcast this morning in South Yorkshire. I think the forecast is for another hot day though. Yesterday was my last session at school for this academic year, and I said goodbye to my Year4s who will be Yr5 next year. They have been a fun group and I shall miss them. I had a catch up with DS on the phone last night. They are in the middle of redecorating and he was not his usual sunny self. I shalln’t see him here again until they’ve finished and I think it’s going to be a long job.
Today I have the last of my packing to do before we go away on Friday. I have managed to hold it down to a medium sized case and a hold-all. If DH was here, he would hardly believe his eyes, considering the shenanigans we used to have when we packed to go away! Everything but the kitchen sink went into the car.

Good morning from a cloudy Black Country, but high temperatures are predicted for later.

Popped over to Mums yesterday to take her food shopping, then on the way home a quick visit to Merry Hill, where I bought some sandals, trainers and wide leg lightweight trousers.

DGD3 (DS youngest) is 16 today, the family only arrived home yesterday from a holiday in Dominican Republic. Her sister is 21 Sunday. Driving over to Lichfield way for a family meal this evening. Then back over Saturday for a party to celebrate the 21st! Phew.

This morning an assessor is coming from the builders who will make the changes to the front of the house. The rest of the day will take care of itself.

Good Morning from a still, overcast Durham, a few spots of rain too. It must’ve been a warm night as I slept on the bed, not in it!
Meeting a friend for coffee this morning, then my FA is making his annual visit. I hope I can continue living in the manner to which I’m accustomed!
Later, I’m taking DGS2 to his swimming lesson, as his parents have an appointment at his first school where he’ll start in Sept.

Good morning from sunny south Glos, a warm day ahead.
I sorted out part of the back garden yesterday, cutting back some plants, brushing up and generally pootling around. Very happy with my efforts so more today before it warms up.
I’ve developed a horrible itchy rash on my chest and arms, it started on Sunday and is keeping me awake at night despite using anti itch cream and taking an antihistamine. I have no idea what has caused it but it is rather unpleasant and uncomfortable. I guess if it doesn’t start going soon I need to attempt to see a GP.
Anyway, another quiet day for me, I hope all goes well for you all 🌹

I picked Buzz up at 8pm and had a chat with the vet. I told her I’m not really happy about continuing treatment but will give him until tomorrow and if there’s no improvement it will be time to let him go.

I’m going to take a little break from GN until all this is over but I’ll be reading your posts and my thoughts are with all of you, especially the FGT’s and others with heavy burdens to carry.

Good morning from a curiously chilly Bristol. It will get hotter as our forecast is for 26C later.
I had a busy day yesterday finishing the piccalilli, the jars of which I washed and labelled before putting them away for 6 weeks to mature.
DS came over, for lunch as it turned out. He’s re-marking some IB English papers, so was working for a lot of the time. I also had a visit by the leader of our book group, to lead the meeting this afternoon as she’s off on holiday.
DS also took me (very briefly) to IKEA for a couple of things.
In the evening, I got a call to say that a dear friend from Kent had just died of MND. She had been very dear to me.
Today, we’ve got this residents’ meeting this morning. Goodness knows what will come of it as the area manager has been dubbed “Teflon Bob” by one lady! Jam tomorrow, always…
