Happy anniversary to The Gingsters. Have a lovely day
Morning Mick, morning All from a sunny already warm corner of Somerset
Enjoyed a breezy hour on the beach yesterday before it became too busy to enjoy. An appointment arrived for the first eye injection, it’s next Wednesday. I’m usually relaxed about medical matters, this seems to be the reception.
Coffee with neighbours this morning. This afternoon Mr C is taking his foot to see one of the surgery physiotherapists. I’ll tag along and we may well go in search of a sea breeze before returning to a very warm home.
Thoughts are with all finding life a challenge.
Have the best day you can everyone.
Good morning from a bright sunny Suffolk. Happy anniversary to the Gingsters. Enjoy your lunch and reminiscing over the many years together.
I’m finding that I’m slipping back into my normal routines which is helping me to value life and living. I had coffee with 3 others from my keep fit class yesterday and I’m off to my stretch class shortly and then a quiet afternoon in different shady spots in the garden.
Hope today is the best it can be for all.
Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle..I don't think we're going to be worrying about heat stroke here though!
Yesterday I did a bit of deadheading and chopping back in the garden, it's a veritable jungle out there at the moment. However, most of my time was spent researching routes, timings and prices for flights to Australia. I think I've decided now, the dates are agreed with DS2 so must bite the bullet and book. Meanie me has decided to go economy as before, the price of business class is equal to another holiday.
A Tesco delivery is due mid-morning and as for the rest of the day, maybe a walk after lunch and some reading.
Have a good day everyone if you can.
I'm thinking about Buzz, Bella....
Happy anniversary to Ginsberg and dh. Well after an emotional send if and beautiful service I said goodbye to my dear brother. He would have found it amusing that the limo wouldn’t start and we were delayed apparently key trouble. But soon got going after my son told the funeral lady to try taking the key out and redoing it.days like yesterday give us the strength and hope to go on. Heatwave coming calmer day today and reflection.
Happy Anniversary Mr&Mrs Gingster 🥂
Good morning all. Sunny, dry with a gentle breeze today in Glasgow will be a pleasant day.
It was lovely to catch up with TopsyIrene again yesterday, our usual lots of blethering of course and time flew by. Whilst the gardening work is going on, I will possibly be out more to have a break from the bomb site it is at the moment and it will stop me noticing the inordinate amount of time these chaps spend on their phones! Hairdressers this afternoon, another social outing with regular clients.
Best wishes to all for a pleasant day.
Happy Anniversary to Gingster and DH 🥂🍾 Have a lovely lunch together
Lovely pics ginny
Morning from sun in S Hants, lovely pictures thank you llfl and ginny, good luck with the medication Susan
MrJ played with his new car yesterday while I went out to lunch with a friend, very pleasant it was to. We met our friend early evening for a drink on his birthday, 68, I’ve known him for forty years.
Today a solicitor is visiting to sort out our POA’s, he should be gone by lunchtime, I’ll put the chiller unit on in the L room, it does a grand job reducing the temperature.
Have a good day all.
🦩🦩
Good morning from sunny Cambridgeshire. I love these sunny warm days there is always a shady corner in my garden somewhere to be found.
I have my Pilates class today and find it extremely difficult to persuade my car to drive past the garden centre on route home it really is a lovely independent family run GC 😂
I then plan to enjoy my garden giving tlc where needed and read
Susan do hope the new meds will work out well for you.
Bella thinking of you and Buzz
llfl lovely pics
Happy hols to those departing away and hope today will be a good one for everyone
Good morning Mick and all from a deceptively misty morning. The sun will quickly burn it off. I think I just heard the wren in the garden, but it may have been a robin. I'll be glad when I get my hearing aid on 24th!
Art group this morning and then straight to acupuncture. I need some calming. After that and lunch I shall probably nod off during the tennis.
Best wishes to all, special thoughts to Bellasnana. Take care all who are sad or poorly.
Good morning all .
Today is our 54th wedding anniversary. Goodness me, where have all those year’s flown! We’ll have our usual anniversary lunch of smoked salmon rolls and egg gala pie . Weird I know, but when we first met , both working in London, we used to meet at The Blind Beggar Pub (haunts of the Kray twins) for lunch and this was our usual lunchtime Fayre. 🤣
Dh is going out for breakfast with his two pals and I’ll stay home and do a bit of ‘light’ housework. My friends grandson is playing in the under 14’s at Wimbledon today, so I’m hoping to catch it on I Player. How exciting for him!
Beautiful photos LLF and ginny, real fairytale scenes.
Take care and don’t go out ‘in the midday sun’. Keep cool !
Good morning everyone from mid Essex, it’s dry, warm and sunny, forecast to be hot later. I went for my usual walk yesterday and met up with my dog walking friends. The usual 20 minute walk actually took an hour, more sitting and talking than walking. Lovely to see people but it’s not doing much for my fitness! I’ll have to have a second walk later in the day to improve the step count! Then fixed some old pillowcases to the glass back door, to provide some shade from the sun. It looks messy, but hopefully will be effective. The coming days will be a good test for it.
ginny I’m envious of your stay in lovely Cornwall! susan I hope your new medication doesn’t cause you too many problems. I hope you can get your broken tooth fixed soon. Thank you for the photos. llfl beautiful photos of your holiday too!
Podiatrist later this morning, then on to DD1s to keep the dog company while they’re both in the office. Not sure if I have to collect my granddaughters from after school club, or if DD1 will be home in time to collect them herself. Dinner will be a ready meal, quick to cook in this weather.
Have the best day possible everyone, thoughts to those with mountains to climb.
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 14°C.
What a pity Susan, your day did not turn out as anticipated.
Karma I use bread
onion, potato and garlic bags, I find bread lasts longer.
Yesterday, papa was unable to walk far, so I asked Dollie, what she would like to do. She suggested Silverburn, but I asked if she would like to have a girl's day and go into Glasgow on the train.
She was so excited.
We had a lovely bonding time, visiting all her favourite shops and buying rubbish!
You may be surprised to know, that I was itching to shop, but actually did not! DH was gobsmacked! 🤣
We finished it off with the obligatory McDonald's.
However....a pop up Shelter shop had appeared in the station. There I purchased a beautiful oyster silk, Precie Petite jacket, still with the labels on it.
It was priced at £15, the original price, £159! There was no mirror, so the assistant offered to take a photo of me. She laughed when I said, Please, do not include my head, I hate getting my photo taken!
She kindly gave Dollie, a puppet making kit, as a gift. Success for both of us.
Of course on our return, as usual I fell asleep, while Dollie watched rubbish on You Tube.
Usually, we switch it off, before her mum comes. I looked up to see mummy sitting opposite me, I never heard her coming in!
This loss of hearing is driving me
and DH mad.
Today, we have both Dollie and Babydoll. Poor Dollie never gets a moments peace, so DD and SIL, will come after breakfast and take her on an adventure. She is so excited.
Our day will depend on Mr Gumpy.😉
Enjoy your holiday, Greyduster.
Belated anniversary wishes *Granny Ivy.*💐
Why,why, why, what part of Scotland are you visiting?
Have a pleasant day folks, whatever your plans.
I am off to make the pancakes for breakfast, as expected for this 5* facility.😉
Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Off to art group this morning where we have an artist coming to do a demonstration and then we are expected to do our interpretation. We are quite an elderly group now so I hope enough people manage to arrive for 9.30!
Best wishes all round
Good morning . Sun is up and smiling here at Kennack Sands.
Today we will be visiting Lizard lighthouse, point and village. We shall hopefully buy some pasty’s and pop to eat them while enjoying the views at Kayance .
Pictures from yesterday’s walk down to Cadgwith.
Gentle hugs to all who need them and a good day wished for all.
Greyduster have a lovely holiday
Good morning from a potentially sweltering Cornwall. I'm about to head to my allotment to do some watering, then back to see my young artist in her hired gallery. She sold seven paintings yesterday, amazing.
A fun evening yesterday at the Beavers' barbecue in a field full of small children. Must rush now to get the bus halfway to my plot.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 15° and cloudy. It feels very sticky and last night was quite uncomfortable, I presume because of the humidity rather than the heat. Ladyleftfieldlover lovely photos. GrandMattie I hope your fellow householders get a resolution soon.
Yesterday I picked up my holiday money and had a nice chat with the assistant about the pros of taking money or using a card. I suppose I'm old school and like the fact of having my money with me (it'll be put in a safe along with my passport). Then I nipped to Tesco for some last minute necessities - a puzzle book and cheap slippers. I only ever do puzzles, crosswords etc in the summer and on holiday. Back home, I tidied up the chaos from Tuesday with the boys. I loaded up my new kindle with lots of books. Then I spent time sorting out the boys' room, making the beds, picking up toys and disposing of rubbish. I pulled out the case from the spare room wardrobe too.
Today I'm going to do some cleaning in the kitchen but it's to be warm, so I'll intersperse bouts of cleaning with sitting down doing nothing. A wash to do, dry and iron will happen too. All very boring but necessary stuff. Have a good day all
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Already warm and sunny in South Yorkshire. Yesterday, having emptied the ancient ailing fridge freezer in my garage, I switched it off and let it defrost. When I get back from holiday I will order a new, hopefully more energy efficient, one. Apart from a few odds and ends, I am packed and ready to go on holiday tomorrow. I have the chiropodist visiting this morning and a haircut booked this afternoon. That will be the sum of my day.
Lovely photos LLFL.
Have the best day you can, folks.
Pantglas, do breadbags help hm bread to stay fresh? I have never used one and my tiny bread bin is full of poly bags when it should hold bread
Good morning from hot and sunny s somerset
Have a lovely time Ladyleftfieldlover
For the first time yesterday I used a pedestal fan in my sewing room and what a wonderful difference that made to my comfort, that plus wearing cool cotton. My new top ($6 pattern) is almost finished, experimental so I used my very old rayon remnant. Now I know why my mother disliked rayon, it is easier to cut than viscose and it is beautifully flowy but it creases and holds tiny creases. Also it is crisp to sew through and I had to use a special microtex needle and I think it blunted my roller cutter
Allotment visit was lovely last evening, still a strong sun and two more cars were there. I have a large number of crown prince squash rapidly growing bigger. I will start to cull as soon as I can be sure.
Four more days of this intense heat and another 2 baby brassica plants are dead at home. I have been out already and put the porous shade on them earlier today. I hope I can keep the butternut squash alive, they are at home atop a metal vegtrug in full sun. My 3 figs are ripening on the plants and for the first time this year, I watered my apple trees.
I have a lot of respect for the sun, the energy in the rays is immense at this time, not the heat being dangerous but the energy which can penetrate skin
More cave time today and more sewing but first I need to pot my hm creamy healthy probiotic desert
Have a good day
Good morning from Shropshire. The start of a few days of very high temperatures.
We had a lovely few hours at the Eisteddfod yesterday.Unfortunately the concert in the evening was cancelled after a medical incident in which a number of members of one choir were taken ill at the same time.
A day at home today trying to stay cool.I need to call the dentist as I lost most of a tooth yesterday😩luckily at the very back so no obvious gap.No pain but what is left will need sorting.
I am starting new medication today which I am very stressed about but have spoken to two consultants and my GP who think it is worth a try.
Thinking of Bellasnanna💐
Thoughts with all unwell and those caring for loved ones.
Wishing everyone a good day🌻🦩
Good morning from a bright and warm Black Country. I am up early as it is so warm.
Lovely meal last night with DS and family for DGD3's 16th birthday. There were 16 of us altogether. Took and hour and 10 mins to drive over there, 55 mins to drive back at 10.30pm when there was less traffic.
Walking group walk this morning, luckily it is in a country park where there is much shade from the trees.
BBQ tonight, making the most of the good weather.
Enjoy your weekend in Scotland whywhywhy
Good morning from a dry but not yet sunny Wales.
Yesterday I stayed home at the cottage while some of the family had a day in Llandudno, they spent 8 hours sightseeing, too much for me.
GD1 got sunburnt on her cycle ride the other day so stayed indoors.
Not sure what is planned for today as I went off to bed while DS and DIL were in the hot tub.
Have a good day.
