Having moved home a few weeks ago we have been constantly busy.
Today was earmarked for work in the garden but rain put an end to that idea.
So I cleaned all the windows inside this morning and this afternoon I have been drinking tea, eating cake, reading and breaking my golden rule of no daytime TV.
I’ve had a lovely day.
Just learnt it’s St Swithins day today, have I got another 40 days of slovenly behaviour?

With luck😊

We had 10 secs of in at lunch time.

The ground is like dust.

Rain!

Didn't the previous owners of the house clean the windows before leaving? Would have been decent of them probably. Would this have been too much to ask? Enjoy your St Swithins

How often do you clean yours? Sago's been in a few weeks and all the dust of shifting in must mean they are due a clean by now.

I enjoy the result of “doing” all the windows, but have to make a determined effort. So satisfying though😌

When DD2 moved house earlier this year the previous occupants didn’t clean anything Not the sinks, toilets, cooker. In fact it seems that they did no housework once DD had her offer accepted I doubt much had been done for some time before that !

I’m glad you enjoyed your afternoon ‘off’,

When I sold my previous house, I had the carpets professionally cleaned, and you could have dined in the bathroom it was so clean but I forgot about the windows!

I hope it doesn’t rain for 40 days as after yesterday’s biblical downpours my garden is like a quagmire.

When I moved to my house, a few years ago.... I loved all the looking for a new rented property, various viewing of different ones, the final ''YES!'' to that house, all the packing, then moving in and unpacking, then several days later, when I'd finally done everything, I was utterly exhausted but it was a nice exhaustion, not a horrible one.

I plonked myself in a local cafe that morning and stuffed my face with a Full English Breakfast, a can of Coke and a cheesecake, totally at rest at last!

We've been very lucky here, although it has rained a little it's mainly been overnight. We woke up to a lovely fresh sunny day today.

If you really want to know, I clean my windows about four times a year, unless some bird has been impertinent enough to soil a window-pane.

I clean mine when we get a sunny day after a few weeks of grey weather & I realise how dusty they are!

crazyH Wed 16-Jul-25 20:52:55

Are we talking of inside or outside windows ? 😂

Depends where you live - with it being so dry here, even a small breeze is covering cars and windows with dust. They are building and ploughing one either side of us, so within minutes everything is covered.

Does anyone have self-cleaning glass?
