Not a flounce.

I'm leaving, please don't respond by sniping.

This is just for myself to draw a line under things and move on.

Nobody is listening, the prejudice and misinformation is off the scale.

Kind Wishes to one and all , especially anybody struggling with low mood and isolation.

Thanks

it is actually (so so sorry lafergar, not you) - how the last page or so sounds a bit like Trump and the Epstein files!

You forgot the, ask for improvements part.

It's a bit like watching TV. If you don't like
what is on, change channels or switch it off.

This is probably the longest not a flounce thread which is actually all about a flounce I have seen on GN

Well done lafergirl

It would need be gluten free before I could join.

I feel a bit sad I am not in the stale quiche sad

😯
Ah, bless.

Shall we form a quiche?

kittylester Sat 19-Jul-25 20:13:42

I've had a couple of roses and this thread isn't making any sense. Maybe I should have another.

This is social media. People are going to post views that we don't agree with.

Maybe GN is just not for the op and she could have just quietly left.

Well, yes, and I don't understand why someone who might get upset would join in the cut and thrust of such as the politics threads when there are other lovely, supportive threads to join.
confused

I saw a post on mumsnet last year where a lady had said she was leaving
Why are you announcing that a irate person had replied you are not at the airport

If anyone thinks Gransnet is chaotic they ain't seen nothing compared to that!! 😂

'Politics' and 'religion' are very wide categories . They also connect together as do economics, philosophy, anthropology, history and even ethnic diets and apparel.

Caleo Sat 19-Jul-25 17:33:09

Old Frill, do you think there should be a Gnet rule that no potentially harmful or hurtful allegation should be made of A unless accompanied by the relevant quotation from A?

This rule would apply to posters and moderators alike.

If you ban politics and religion it opens the door for other subjects to be banned too.

My goodness , yes it would definitely do that!
Imagine what might be on the list of contentious subjects.
Even a discussion of such a list could cause upsets and dispute among those on GN who might be held to be among the cognoscenti with regard to a variety of subjects.

Is there a case for banning politics and religion on GN? not IMO Boz. No one's forced to join in any discussions and if they're finding the subject matter or other posters upsetting, they can leave the discussion and find another one
