Body clock

Hi. I’d like to reset my body clock. I’m waking up ridiculously early, so of course I’m ready for bed at 8.30 pm in fact I can’t keep my eyes open much after that.
I’m 68 and never napped during the day unless I’m ill of course. If I do rarely nod off I feel horrible when I wake so feel it’s not worth it. Anyone any ideas ?

Maybe try to stay awake for an extra half an hour a day.
Do that for a week and then extend by another half hour & so on, until you reach a later bed time.

My dog wakes me up far too early (7 am) and I’m not a morning person (spent too many years having to get up early for work) So when I’ve let her out it sometimes takes me a while to get back to sleep so I listen to Jason Stephensons Get Back to Sleep fast on utube. It never fails to get me back to sleep; if I do need to wake up at a certain time I set an alarm clock. How and why it works I don’t understand because Paul McKenna’s relaxation tapes stopped working for me, but there are a lot of breathing exercises involved.

Loads of videos on YouTube for resetting your body clock.

Don’t try, just accept the way you are and make use of the peace and quiet early in the morning.
We larks are far superior to the owls who stay up late then hate getting up in the morning. I’m a 5am to 9pm person and like it that way. I’ve never needed an alarm clock.

Thank you everyone. I might just have to accept it. I’ve always been this way, but it’s a bit more extreme at the moment. It’ll be better when the clocks change, but then I’ll be getting up in the dark can’t win.

Just thought I’d pop back to say I’ve found something that’s helping me get back to sleep. It’s the Bach flowers remedies night time gummies.
I was awake at 3am this morning, quickly sucked one of these and I was back to sleep within ten mins. Slept until 6am. Long may it last. Hope they can help someone else.

I still recommend Jason Stephensons Get Back to Sleep fast on utube. I told someone about it at the doctors and she listened to it whilst waiting to see the Dr. When I spoke to her later she said she couldn’t stop yawning.

We are both larks, bright eyed and bushy tailed before 6 am, ready for bed by 10 pm. It must be awful for couples who are not on the same time schedule.

Hi thank you for your suggestion of listening to you tube, the only trouble I’d have with that is by the time I’d put my hearing aids in and found you tube I’d have woken up DH 🤣
