What’s your favourite aisle in the supermarket?

Just a bit of Friday trivia grin

Mine has to be the soap powders / fabric conditioners. Could literally spend half an hour looking at all the different brands .

Magazines and newspapers.

Lidl is my local supermarket. It's small and I wizz round to buy essentials. I walk there so have to consider what I can carry home.
I bought myself 2 treats today; a pink hydrangea and a bottle of red wine.

My other shop isn't a supermarket. It's a community owned store which has a refillery, sells artisan bread delivered from Edinburgh, Borders meat and venison, milk in glass bottles, local free range eggs and vegetables from East Lothian. Etc
They also sell my pots - I'm a potter.
Tomorrow I shall be volunteering there on the till. It's such an asset to our town.

I love the ‘aisle of lost things’. My daughter called it that when she was around 7 or 8.

It has a mixture of past & future events, random bits of decorative items, plant fertiliser and other things.

DH does all our shopping. The last time I went with him I came home with a waffle maker from the middle aisle of Lidl. I love a bargain.

Most of the time im superspeedy around a supermarket.
But as hard as i try i cant avoid tescos clothes section ,its as if someone takes control of my legs and takes me there .

Those aisles where you're never quite sure what's going to be there. Like when Waitrose use the same aisle for reduced Easter eggs and random reduced garden stuff. I get moderately excited after Christmas when the supermarkets lump all their end of season stuff in one aisle. I end up buying things I never knew I needed, like socks in a tumbler.

How do you get the tumbler on your foot without breaking it?

JamesandJon33 Thu 24-Jul-25 17:29:33

Bed linen and stuff. Can’t get enough

Elowen33 Thu 24-Jul-25 17:17:48

None of them, I go straight to the items I need without looking at everything else, I dislike shopping for anything.

I’m with GG13 and Georgesgran most definitely the wine aisle 🥂checking all the offers 😂

Oreo Thu 24-Jul-25 16:45:52

Def the bread aisle with all sorts of deliciousness on offer, croissants and scones , fruited teacakes, pain au chocolate 😍

Casdon Thu 24-Jul-25 15:44:52

I like the deli aisle, which has different options in every supermarket, and I love trying new things each time I go shopping, M&S is the best because they regularly update the options available.

None of them. I just want to get it over with! 😂

Me too.
Which is way I shop online for food & most other things.
I can’t stand shopping of any sort

You are not alone. See previous pages.

The cheese isle. Particularly M&S at Stratford London.

Cleaning ailse. I love buying bleach. Also looking at the pretty toiletries in the larger supermarkets.

Pity the environment then. All that bleach. Please think about reconsidering your cleaning methods. smile

Well said. Have a try at white vinegar and bicarb of soda and prepared to be amazed!

What is it about notebooks, Sarnia and Grannybags*?

I can't resist a lovely pristine new notebook. I have two large boxes full of them at home - can't resist them - but the majority are unused. I consider them too beautiful to spoil with my writings.

I don't think my children are going to appreciate my collection when I pop my clogs, somehow.

Me too, I struggle to resist a lovely notebook. Have far too many unused ones. One of my friends was really amused when she saw my stash a few months ago.

The wine aisle when there is 25% off of six bottles or more 🥂😱🍾

Today!!!!

And, I think it's Thursday.

Yep, stocked up in Sainsbury’s this morning. I only go there when the offer is on or I am down to my last drop of washing liquid 😹

Otherwise it’s farm shop, local butcher’s and small independent shops.

I do a lot of onine shopping, but I couldn't do it for food. I don't trust anyone else to pick my shopping for me, especially when it comes to fresh items. I've been known to rake through every pack of something until I find one I like the look of.

You startled me into checking which day it is kandinsky !
I’d say the chocolate aisle, especially on trips when I manage to look and not buy. Failing that the fastest aisle leading to the exit. I do not enjoy shopping.

I was struck a few weeks ago by the fresh fruit and veg section in Carrefour in southern Brittany. Everything was loose and not a scrap of plastic in sight. Strong paper bags freely available.
Back home today in Waitrose and I am confronted by seas of plastic. Many items are only available in packs.

Stationery. I can never have too many pens and notebooks. I like seeing new stationery ideas on the shelves.

Oh me too! I have always loved stationery, pens and pencils. Pristine new notebooks are my absolute favourite. I always used to ask for pens and notebooks as gifts when I was a child, and never grew out of it.
