Those found illegal are then deported.

Alternative suggestion for Reform fans: immediately boats arrive full of young African men, transfer them directly to well armed large ships and sail them back to north Africa. A few months of that should deter future irregular arrivals. Harsh but it can't go on.

You will never stop the boats but you can make it more difficult to stay by picking up and deporting illegals. The message would soon get out and make the UK unpopular.

The Muslims have become the newest scapegoats in the war against immigrants, like the Jews in the 1940s and I am so, so thankful that none of my Muslim siblings and their families are living in this country.

If Labour and Yvette Cooper do not resolve the problem of the small boats arriving in the UK, I believe Reform will win the next election, and Nigel Farage will become the next Prime Minister.

Cant quite understand why the UK Home Office does not set up processing centres for asylum seekers at the British embassies outside UK.

The irony is there are 6k cases of British nationals who cannot even bring their foreign spouses and children into the UK because they do not meet the income threshold of £39K pa.

If they do not earn £39k, they have to show a bank account of £89k.

So how are Reform actually going to resolve the problem?

Migrants still arrive in significant numbers by lorry, it’s just that public interest has moved on to small boat arrivals.

I think that the largest numbers of people here with no right to stay though is actually people who have arrived on a visitors passport and don’t leave when it expires.

I've done 6 crossings so far this year.
The lorries are thoroughly checked, inside and out, and the paperwork. As are coaches, everyone has to get off.
It always amuses me that individual cars are occasionally asked, vous avez des immigrés? Like do you have wine and beer?

OK. Good decision, but why risk the life and limb of that person by dangerously crossing the Channel in a small boat when they could safely seek asylum in France? (And in France, the French are asking why they don't seek asylum in Italy or Spain). I'm sure half these young men haven't got brothers, aunties, uncles, cousins etc waiting to help them in the UK, so my choice would be to start a new life where I safely landed. What's the ulterior motive for getting to the UK?

Language is one issue. It's been shown that people from different countries tend to go to specific countries. Another factor is existing networks.

Incidentally, Cyprus, Estonia, Austria, Greece, Germany, Switzerland, Luxemburg and Belgium all grant more asylum applications per head of existing population than the UK. Germany is by far the number one desired destination for asylum seekers.

Bilal is caught hiding in a lorry with others- the custms police put probes into lorries to detect carbon monoxide, so they have to plastic bags over their heads and stop breathing for as long as possible. Bilal had been tortured back home and water boarded, so he panics, and all get caught and sent back. The others are more than furious with him and threaten him. With no money left, he decides to cross himself but can't swim.

A very very moving story- and all along I think, he could be my grandson.

Because the lorries are now carefully checked- with equipment that detect any human presence even if hidden deep in the lorry. And lorry drivers and haulage companies being massively fined if any found.

I recommend you watch the French film 'Welcome' and you will understand.

Exactly- best for the young men to go first, for so many reasons.

One of my French assistant was a Hmong. The father worked as a mercenary guide for the Americans and French during the Vietnam war. When they had to flee across jungles to find a safe place to emigrate to France, they carried the babies on their back- and gave them opium in large doses so they would not be hugry and would not betray them to the Vietgong. But they had NO choice. The French and US Government gave them asylum.
