What Trump said he’d do (and voters in America liked what they heard) and he’s doing it. Doesn’t let what people say about him bother him. Go Trump! I wish he was looking after our interests. He fulfils his promises. I like his straight talking, gets to the nub of a problem very quickly. He has a backbone and gets things done. Yes he’s a disruptor. That’s his style. But when the status quo isn’t working then things do need shaking up.

I can think of all sorts of people who might make the same argument and who have a much higher moral standing.

He’s on record saying if his daughter wasn’t his daughter he’d be dating her. What sort of father talks that way about his young daughter. It isn’t as if his words and actions are just hearsay; they’re on record and he’s been quite open about it in the past.

He is achieving so much, and it is all for himself.

You may not like the man but can have a certain admiration for what he seems to be achieving.
The thing is he represents the current zeitgeist (the political turn to the right and the dominance of the Business world and overall dislike of politicians) so the back noise will be dismissed.
People want a strong leader and are willing to overlook the flaws.

Just a wee side step, for clarification.
If we can't 'stop the boats', for those who have concerns, wouldn't speeding up the application and decision making process be the next best step?
Then folk wouldn't be 'hanging around' for so long.
It's just that all the media focus and people's angst seem ultra focused on this aspect.
Our authorities and services would have control of that side of things.

Exactly. Starmer is so pathetically weak despite knowing that in most towns and cities people are fed up with how he is doing nothing to help them, only helping those who come here illegally.

It’s a disgrace and the reason why so many people are leaving their home towns and moving out to more rural areas.

We regularly meet people in that position and they are so relieved to have made the move to a place where they don’t feel like outsiders.

Good point Galaxy. I’m sure the files are useful to their mi5-6 equivalents. We know Cyril Smith and others weren’t prosecuted despite overwhelming evidence.
In any event, Trump supporters don’t care about his sexual behaviour or the way everything is a deal that benefits him and his inner circle.

Im not sure that MAGA is supporting Trump through this.

He is definitely losing support, and that is why he is flailing around trying to find a topic to take the attention away from the files.

I have often wondered that, too. With hindsight, which is a wonderful thing, it would have been better for the wealthier countries to have supported the poorer ones, providing employment and opportunities so that their young people could see a future where they were without migration.

The UK has been doing that for decades. It's called 'foreign aid'.

When the tories decided to cut the amount the UK allocated to foreign aid there was huge approval on GNet for it because 'why should foreigners be given all that money when we could use it 'at home?'
