The US president said that a “horrible invasion” was taking place, adding it had to “stop”, shortly after touching down on Air Force One at Glasgow Airport.

“Asked about illegal migration to Britain, Mr Trump said: “On immigration you better get your act together or you’re not going to have Europe anymore.”
He continued: “You’ve got to stop this horrible invasion that is happening to Europe, many countries in Europe.”
“Some leaders have not let it happen, and they’re not getting the proper credit... I could name them to you right now, but I’m not going to embarrass the other ones. But stop, this immigration is killing Europe.”
Mr Trump, who has made border control a key priority of his presidency, said: “Last month we had nobody entering our country.”

Well done Trump. He’s not wrong! 🇬🇧

I always have wondered why these young men do not stay and fight for their country, as opposed to leaving the women and children behind to exist on their own?

GrannyGravy13 Sat 26-Jul-25 08:42:39

He was elected by the people of the USA for a second term, whatever our thoughts on the man, I think its obvious that world leaders respect the office of POTUS, as they have all clambered to meet the current one.

Teazel22, the problem for me is the DM specialising in inflammatory articles, like Mr Trump, the seek to stoke fear, division and anxiety.

I wouldnt disagree with you but people were interviewed who live in close proximity to migrant hotels so I would take it they were saying it like it is?

Love him or loathe him, he's bang on the nail with this. Sadly though, our own politicians will carry on blithely ignoring the ever increasing concerns of their own populace 😢😢

It's already too late for Europe.
Migration escalated dramatically with Blair's Open Door policy in 2004. It's been allowed to go on, unrestricted, for far too long.
We have a local hotel, full of them. The latest in a long line of incidents and court appearances regarding the men who live there was a man, completely naked, approaching young girls. He was jailed last week for that offence and being in possession of Class A drugs. Good to see he isn't wasting the taxpayers money.
Face facts. Nobody has the answer. It is only going to get worse.
Trump, for all his failings, loves his country.

Yes, absolutely agree. There is an article in the Daily Mail today about what it is like living close to hotels housing irregular immigrants. Recommended reading for a realistic take on the situation by those impacted.

I would say I live in a peaceful and low crime area. However, with the constant problems from the men in this hotel the atmosphere is changing.
On our local Facebook page one poster has announced a date for a protest outside this hotel. Things like that don't happen here. I don't condone violence but people have had enough. Sheer frustration is driving people to protest and often, riot.

As I say when people talk about Trump their morality flies out of the window. I will use the same phrase in discussions on Macron, Angela Rayner, whoever, and when people complain I will use your response.

Sorry it is the second paragraph in your quote. I don't believe in murder but ...

Oh! Hmmm🙄

Hardly an incitement to violence.

Get a grip!!

It is frightening how quickly people jump on the bandwagon of this evil man whose country consists almost entirely of the progeny of people who were at one time illegal immigrants displacing the native population.

Galaxy Sat 26-Jul-25 08:13:53

Madeleines second paragraph.

Witzend Sat 26-Jul-25 08:13:07

Not the point, I know, but ‘you better’ rather than ‘you’d better’, or ‘you had better’ really grates on me.
But I’ve seen it a lot lately.

Iam64 Sat 26-Jul-25 08:11:16

The last thing we need in Europe is a Potus with no regard for the law or concern for others, ranting about how we get everything wrong.

It is interesting to observe that hatred of Trump (who strangely enough as a feminist I don't support) drives people to abandon any sense of their own morality. That sort of worries me more than anything else and I don't want anything to do with them either.

What are you talking about?

Innuendo won’t cut it I’m afraid.

Trump is so well named. Dictionary shows trump as another name for Fart, and a slight explosion between the legs and a bad smell.
I do not believe in murder, but Pest control is another thing. If Rentakill is too busy at the moment I might take a trip to Scotland and make a better job of it than the man who couldnt aim well!! He is a disgusting person, concerned with his own intention to get richer by the minute in any way he can., and to ride roughshod over anyone to get it. This is a man that actually encouraged people to storm their parliament!!! He should have been jailed for incitment to riot for that. I have lived under dictators and if you know the rules and can keep them you can ,if you have to, live with them. If the rules say you must walk on the right on mondays and left on tuesdays you know where you stand.

This lunatic chops and changes as he chooses, thinks he has the right to make the rules up as he goes along and change for no good reason. Who can work out a sensible business plan when you have to pay 25% tax and by next week it is now 30% or whatever. Of course he actually thinks he above all laws and may make things up like a 3 year old as he goes along. Did you not hear him as he declared that he was going to annex other countries to add to his pile? What makes him think he has any right whatsoever to decide to claim another sovereign country. I was actually in Greenland when he started waffling on about that and can tell you the people there did not take kindly to it in any way!!

Well of course he may forget that, while he is working out how to cover up his sexual predation, and hide his connection with Epstein. Not only him, but to think that there are people who actually think like him and voted for him - that is besides the KKK lot. How the world has sunk to such depths to have someone like him in any sort of power.!

My god , it turns my stomach to even think of him and his entourage. I need to go and wash the bad taste out of my mouth and look at some of the good things that people do for others and remember that there are some decent people in the world.

Excellent!

Whitewavemark2 Sat 26-Jul-25 07:57:21

Not clear why a foreign convicted felon, rapist and alleged paedophile should be given approval by a thread’s headlines?

I can think of all sorts of people who might make the same argument and who have a much higher moral standing.

Although quite difficult to have a lower one frankly.

Try raising your eyes higher. Would you trust him around your teenage daughter?
