We are going to be grandparents again, just the second time. This is with another of our children and a gender reveal says a boy this time naturally we are all over the moon.
My third child said ( meant it too I think) maybe my turn will come and I will have a non-binary. I suppose this means I have an enlightened family. Nonetheless we are all very happy.

dogsmother, surely you mean a litter of puppies (i couldn't resist that one) Gender!! Apparently there are almost 100, ridiculous,it's a misnomer. Babies are born one of 2 sexes.

Wonderful, so pleased for you!
DS isn’t even in a relationship, and DD’s finished reproduction so little chance of any more babies.

Greciangirl Tue 29-Jul-25 15:54:26

What do you mean by non binary baby?

Usedtobeblonde Tue 29-Jul-25 16:12:49

You will have to wait for GGC grandMattie
My second one is due in a couple of weeks.
I was 86 when the first one was born.

They probably mean they'll do their best to raise a child avoiding gender stereotyping. Nothing new about that and really a good thing, I think. I did exactly that back in the early 80s. No pink, choice of toys without pointing towards traditional options etc.

Congratulations .
If they live close and your offspring doesn’t continually work abroad they should be great fun

Lovely news lots of fun having a grandson. Small tip put the best china away 😂

pably15 Wed 30-Jul-25 10:49:52

Brilliant news, I remember when we were told about becoming grandparents both times, there's nothing that can compare to that feeling of pure joy, and what luluaugust said, when I knew my grandchildren were visiting, I put all my ornaments out of reach, so I didn't need to say...don't touch... congratulations dogsmother..

Congratulations dogsmother. We are expecting our first GGC in November. Scans show a girl.Everyone is so excited. My grandson’s brother is loving the idea of being an Uncle. He is going to set up an ISA for the little darling and manage it. ( he works in finance). The two grannies are going to JL in September to order the pram etc. I have been invited to go with them but might not manage as lots of problems at the moment. They will be able to buy whatever from us. Can’t wait to see her. Grandchildren have been such a blessing to us. Not least to remake Christmas the magical time it once was.
