Good Morning Everyone,
I have woken to a dry but grey sky above here in brackley this morning.
Apart from my usual routine , housework prior to going to Bicester to shop ,and say hello to those I know.
Living in a Anchor Residental Home in a bedsit , I lookout on to a garden , some of the residents receive care, and even myself can pull the cord if I feel as though I require help with my health .
Health at the moment OK , keeping a daily figure of weight as I have lost some over past few months .
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning from the MS coast, where the forecast is sunshine & 40c. From Mon to Fri, we like to take our coffee over to the beach, & watch the birds swooping in to snatch up their preferred "breakfast". (pic attached) I hope everyone has some happy moments today!

Good morning all from a greyish, chilly North Leicestershire.

I have ironing to do this morning and party planning for DH's 80th later.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning everyone from Lancashire where it's a bit grey and cool. Yesterday turned out to be a lovely day without being too hot so fingers crossed for the same today.

This morning I'm off to my Slimming World group. I've been doing well recently as I started doing a walking app about 9 weeks ago and the combination of diet and exercise seems to be working. I feel so much better.

Yesterday I did lots of gardening, including trimming back a St John's Wort bush and some Jasmine that had gone wild. Our brown bin is full to the brim so I'll have to save cutting back the roses until next week. Monty Don gave it as 1 of the jobs for the weekend on Gardener's World but he doesn't have limited garden refuse space at Long Meadow!

Hope everyone has the best day they can. 🌻

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk. The roads will be very busy with the departing festival crowds so we’ll stay at home until later in the afternoon.

DD2,DGS2 and DGD5 are arriving from the north today and we are so looking forward to their visit. DSiL who is a consultant in A&E has decided that he needs to be at work rather than on holiday because of the strike so will arrive tomorrow late evening.

Hope today is a good one for all and FGT and Himself enjoy both being at home together.

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny and showery Carlisle.
Yesterday was a quiet indoor day after my early morning walk.
I sorted through some drawers and cupboards and managed to clear out all of 2 things for the charity shop! Apart from that, it was reading the paper, baking some scones and then settling down to watch the last stage of the Tour de France. I don't think I'll be able to do that next year as ITV4 have lost it to some big streaming concern.

Today, the usual routine laundry and cleaning in the morning, nothing planned for the afternoon though I'd like to tick off one or two of my odd jobs.

Have a good day everyone if possible.

NannyJan53 Mon 28-Jul-25 07:56:25

Good morning from a dull but warm Black Country.

Relaxing day at home yesterday, where I finished my book. We had a BBQ for our evening meal.

Had a parcel delivered yesterday, luckily I was tracking it's progress, as the driver left parcel on doorstep, then walked away without making sure someone was in.!

Line Dancing this afternoon, but giving the walking group walk a miss this morning.

Wishing you all the best day possible, with special thoughts of the FGT's hoping all is well.

Grammaretto Mon 28-Jul-25 07:57:36

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Cool and windy. My bedroom door creaks.

Yesterday turned out full and interesting. I drove my friends to visit a village with 4 open gardens and teas in the hall. On the way home we stopped at another village and watched an excellent preview of a play which will be on at the Edinburgh Fringe.

When I arrived home the electrician had almost finished testing all the equipment in the little flat which I shall be letting again soon.

Exercise class this morning and someone is coming to take some more things I posted on Freecycle.

I'm glad you've been making the most of your trip Bellasnanna

My DS is in Malta on holiday just now.

Hope you have a great time in Fife Marydoll

Hugs and positivity to Whywhywhy and Kalu and anyone needing a boost to start the week.

Good morning from a dull N. Bucks.
DH is off to golf and after a quick tidy and a couple of small jobs I intend to carry on with my water colour painting.
Later I will water our garden and DD3s as they are on holiday. I’ll be trouble with the boys if I let the runner beans wilt.
Pleased to hear happy news from some of our Grans and thinking of those who are struggling in any way.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.

cornergran Mon 28-Jul-25 08:09:33

Morning Mick, morning All. The sky over our corner of Somerset is clearing.

We’re off on a new to us bus today. Better get a wriggle on as it leaves every hour and don’t want to miss it

Have the best day you can everyone.

whywhywhy Mon 28-Jul-25 08:33:37

Thanks for the hugs and kind words. Xx

Good morning from a bright sunny 17 degree Cambridgeshire forecast 23 degrees by mid day.

Again nothing much planned today just pottering around the house and garden enjoying some quiet time

Have a good day everyone

Morning from cloudy South Lanarkshire. Subtract 30 and half what’s left Grandmabatty, and you are near enough, an approach to maths which led me to constant failure😳😊

Dentist this morning and then lunch with my neighbour friend. She’s been on holiday with family in Seahouses which I love and where DH and I had many happy holidays.

Tonight my son in law is picking me up and taking me over to theirs as DD2 is accompanying me to a hospital appointment tomorrow for an extended assessment of my macular degeneration. I do realise already that I’m going to have to change my lighting at home, it’s becoming a bit challenging. As is my memory which is why she’s coming!

Very glad to see that things are improving for the FGTs, and wishing everyone a good day.

Morning all from a sunny start to the day here on the east coast of Fife. I went to church with a couple of my friends yesterday I gave them both some of the Chillie con Carni I made for my BBQ they were delighted. I had to wear my raincoat yesterday it was tipping it down - honestly the weathers all over the place at the moment

Have a good day my friends keep safe

Good morning from a grey and cool NE, the heating came on and woke me up.
DS and GDs visited yesterday, it was lovely to hear what they had been up to.
At 5pm we switched on the TV as they wanted to watch the football match. I watched the first half and then prepared dinner.
We watched the end of the match together and there was a lot of shouting and excitement.
DIL found a car she liked and sorted the purchase on Saturday so GD1 will get to keep her mum's previous one.
Today I need to wash and iron, the laundry hamper is full to the brim.
Lovely to hear FGT has her DH home, such good news.
have a good day.

merlotgran Mon 28-Jul-25 09:16:17

Morning all from a cloudy south coast. Allotment this morning to check in a few things. I had reports over the weekend of children from a neighbouring plot messing around with the water standpipe, making water bombs and flooding our pathway. With water so scarce it needs discouraging but as I wasn’t there I’m not going to make a fuss but just check everything’s OK for now. I will take photos if necessary.
Tesco delivery this afternoon. I have a busy week ahead so have decicided to give Aldi a miss and conserve my energy.
Hope everyone has a good day.

GrannySomerset Mon 28-Jul-25 09:23:00

Waiting for the chiropodist who will be late because of the many local road closures which are set to make August a trying month, not helped by the fact that the local authority have not posted the details so it is impossible to warn her.

Good news fromFGT and glad that Marydoll is getting a little break which she really needs. Hope that navigating is not totally frustrating! Will have to find a project for the next few weeks as most things seem to stop and life will have even less shape to it. There is a limit to the amount of reading even I can do.

Blossoming Mon 28-Jul-25 09:27:34

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.

I’m sitting up in bed drinking a cup of tea, all meds taken until tonight. Today will be much the same as yesterday. MrB and I will be enjoying our usual walk down to the Dock gates to count the ducks. I will start a new bracelet this afternoon.

Love the dress Karma.

Enjoy the trip Marydoll.

Love the photo Peli.

A warm welcome to any new posters I may have missed.

Thinking of our poorly Grans and families, as always.

Have the best day you can everyone 🌹

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, but expected to be dry all day. My bedding is in the washing machine and should dry nicely.

Didn't do a lot yesterday; finished washing the rest of my freezer containers and shall be sorting storage for them shortly.

Not much planned for today; shall put fresh sheets etc on the bed, damp dust the bedrooms, and clean the bathrooms. And then this afternoon catch up with my reading.

Glammagran, indeed I know Bowood very well! It was often our Sunday walk as children. We would walk from the gates in Silver Street/Mile Elm, and come out at Black Dog on the Chippenham Road. A good few miles! In later years DH and I would stay at the hotel there in April to celebrate our wedding anniversary or my birthday.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Crossstitchfan Mon 28-Jul-25 09:53:11

Good morning all from a slightly cloudy East Kent.
I am a bit worried that so many GNs are remarking on it feeling Autumnal! They are right, but it’s only July! It would appear that the seasons have moved. Scary!
I have got the exciting job of filling out my Tax return over the next day or two. A job I hate with a passion!
One of my grandsons had a birthday last week. He asked his mum if he could have a barbecue. No problem, except that was the only day in ages that it decided to rain! We had a good time though and will have a bbq at a later date.
I don’t normally post on here in my own right, usually only responding to other posts. I always think no-one will be interested in my day. But then I realise how much I like reading what everyone else is up to, so hopefully, someone might be interested in me!
Have a safe and calm day.

Kalu Mon 28-Jul-25 09:59:05

Thank you for the boost Grammaretto

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 28-Jul-25 10:11:04

👋 Crossstitchfan we all bring something to this friendly thread. Great photo peli! No wonder you sit there to enjoy your coffee.

I have a very weak Himself at home. He’s angular in looks but strong in spirit. It will take some time to build his strength and stamina back up. Baby steps. Thanks for all the messages of support. x

Madeleine your post has me wallowing in nostalgia. In the mid 50’s we used to drive from Co Durham to Blackpool for the illuminations. Sometimes dad used to take to the side roads to Keld and Muker. A favourite Sunday run in those days was to Richmond and Swaledale or to Tan Hill. Thank you.
After an early appointment with the accountant I’m now having a rest. Thankfully it’s just a ten minute walk. I’m sure it’ll do me good. Set off in rain home in blue skies and sunshine.
Have a good day everyone.
