I would imagine Trump has not forgotten the blimp, if that is the right word, that Khan allowed to be flown in London during his visit here when he was previously President.

I am not partisan, I am politically homeless.

I was hoping for better things from Sir Starmer.

You surely have to admit that he works very hard, though. And the first year in office has been full of problems most of which have not been caused by Labour policy but world events. I very much doubt that he gets any enjoyment out of having to deal with Trump but it is what it is and we've got three more years of him...

Starmer's right, the pictures of starving children are revolting.

It must have been in my mind Casdon

Starmer has to do whatever is best for our country.
Remember it’s not Starmer the man but Starmer the PM.I think he does well where DT is concerned.

Starmer is right. The pictures of starving children are revolting. I feel revulsion seeing them as most people would knowing this has been a man mad famine.
Revulsion for those who have let this happen too.

I didn’t see that, I saw a man thinking the sooner that idiot I have to appear at one with goes home to face the music and I can escape this charade the better.

Honestly I have sympathy for Starmer and Victoria - I bet she’d rather be at her paid work as opposed to being the equivalent of the First Lady

It’s one thing to be politically partisan, something else to attack anything and everything the PM says. Revolting or heartbreaking? Given Starmer’s beliefs as a QC, head of CPS as a Labour MP then leader, all I’ve seen is an individual with humanitarian beliefs to guide him

TillyTrotter Mon 28-Jul-25 19:26:06

I agree with Lathyrus.

Good grief. Yet another unfair attack on Starmer. Getting a bit tired of this, now

I agree, and I am no fan of Starmer.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 28-Jul-25 19:02:46

Has anyone seen the part of the interview where trump condemned Sadiq Khan? Absolutely appalling - Starmer tried to stop him by putting his hand on his arm and saying he was his friend. It’s obvious that trump can’t abide anyone who isn’t white - just read what he says about the probable new Moslem mayor of New York. How anyone can support this dreadful man who lies, has no decency or diplomacy, is racist, sexist and is a convicted criminal. I’ll stop now before my head explodes.

Having seen the interview our PM looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights

Perhaps he meant that. Just remember, he was trying to speak and deal with Trump at the same time, if that was when he said it.

Aye - he's obviously not good at multi tasking then 😉

Lathyrus3 Mon 28-Jul-25 18:33:04

I think “revolting” is a much stronger word. Revolution is what’s needed.

Heart-breaking always feels to me as if the person who says it is focusing on themselves and how they feel - as if that excuses them from action.

Luckygirl3 Mon 28-Jul-25 18:25:49

The pictures are both. They are an affront to any sort of decency.
