Over last 20 years, and possibly since menopause I started having some sensitivity to caffeine. Firstly started off noticing with coke cola, and coffee. After awhile ditched the cola, and had decaf tea & coffee. There is a small amount of caffeine in the decaf, so now my tea is made with rooibos tea (red bush tree), and hardly any coffee. Occasionally the odd decaf coffee. I have found ie on holidays I may have a decaf everyday but eventually it seems to catch up with me, the reactions. Can be disturbed sleep, vivid dreams, feeling hot at night, the next day can act as if I’m unsure of things, a sort of not coping mentally till later in day may feel ‘normal & confident’ again.
I’m now having similar reactions to a lot of ‘dark’ things, so raisins/currants, cherry squash, apple & blackcurrant squash, dark fruit ciders. Before I get to make an appointment with my GP, anyone else experienced anything like this? I’d be grateful to hear…
