Here in the Midlands , we’ve had mixed weather last couple days and I even put my EB on…it’s August..my bones/joints are alerting me..anyone else feel it🤔

We are north of London and it’s still pretty humid despite having some showers

I'm in Cumbria and we've had storms here with thunder/lightning and tons of rain too!

I LOVE winters and storms!

I'm happy to jump into bed with my snuggly duvet .... the current duvet cover/pillow case has dinosaurs on it...! And hugging a hot water bottle!

I'll shove a Bisto bangers, mash, peas, and gravy in the microwave for 9 minutes and have a mug of PG Tips, then crash to bed!

I love to see washing blowing in the wind .. hate having to dry indoors and don’t have space for a dryer.
Time to do a wash . Hope it’s a bit drier today🤞

I have a 15 tog duvet on my bed for 52 weeks of the year, but when it is hot, I just flip half of it over.

Last night, I felt like I should have taken a hot water bottle to bed because a shower doesn't warm me up.

If there has been rain, it has been minimal and has occurred during the night. It is lovely seeing washing outside blowing in the wind.

Today has been acceptable but we put the heating on for half an hour now and then, and other half puts the fan on as he cannot bear the heat.

I've been using my furry weighted blanket for days.

Grandmama Mon 04-Aug-25 19:51:51

I've been using the electric blanket to warm the bed. This summer in spite of some very hot weather the house has never been really hot. I look back to nights when it was so hot DH and I couldn't sleep. The house could be like an oven. This hasn't happened for at least at couple of years in spite of global warming.

Still got my fan going in the night, I find the noise soothing

So far so good weather wise, pegged my bath towels out hr ago & nearly dry 😊

Yes

I'm so glad you've said this! I only yesterday said to my husband that it felt autumnal and the house felt damp. My bedding plants are coming to an end too. Definitely feel we have lost a 'summer month'

We've just been using a cotton cellular blanket for a few months now, though on the hottest nights it's been taken off. I actually only use a lightweight down quilt even in the winter now as I get very hot. My husband just throws a single duvet on top of his side of the bed if he needs it, but this doesn't happen often.
It's lovely and cool here today (greater London) but I think that it will be hot again soon.

All last week it felt as if Autumn had come, which is not normal in the South of Denmark. Today, however, the sun is out, it has been dry all day so far, touch wood. (Last week it poured).

But this summer is a definite improvement on last summer, where it rained solidly through all of June, although May had been fair and only made half-hearted attempts at summer weather in July and August.

Dug out my slippers last night as my poor feet were so cold they hurt! Thank you weather & RA. Winter here soon?

What a rotten summer it's been so far this year.

It's been heat wave after heat wave here in West Mids and I'm enjoying the cooler weather. Still sleeping under top sheet with fan blowing all night.

Bea65 Mon 04-Aug-25 12:14:04

I've been using just the duvet cover over me but had to put a light duvet on and had the EB on again last night just to get comfy....

M0nica Sun 03-Aug-25 14:59:54

I have been sleeping under the duvet for the last fortnight.

Jaxjacky Sun 03-Aug-25 13:10:53

Warm summer down south, hence our hosepipe ban, back up to 26/7 next week.
The evenings and mornings are slightly cooler, not so humid, windows and patio door open during the day.

GrannyIris5 Sun 03-Aug-25 13:08:24

We had condensation on the bedroom windows on Thursday or Friday, I was shocked.
Summer weight duvet is still in the cupboard, just using the cover, but not sure how much longer before it gets filled again.

If I let him my OH would have the heating on all day...he has alzheimers and feels the cold so much

fancythat Sun 03-Aug-25 13:00:09

We have put on the heating.
Though I am not feeling great anyway.
One of the radiators not working. Oh goodie...

What about the 2 heatwaves we’ve had and the third one due in a week’s time?
I’m assuming you are in the north of the country? Down here (N Bucks) the grass is only beginning to green up again!

pably15 Sun 03-Aug-25 12:49:34

still just have a light cover on my bed, sun's out now but there's a wind getting up, I will have to bring my deck chairs indoors and secure the garden table...

Moonwatcher1904 Sun 03-Aug-25 12:31:08

I've started putting my fluffy socks on now. It's certainly cooled off here on the North West coast. I've got a light duvet on 1 tog which is my summer one and enough for us at the moment.
Waiting for this storm that's supposed to be coming tomorrow so our open window that faces the sea will not doubt be closed.
It would be nice to have some warm weather but it's more like Autumn now.

Really?

I think it’s been a good summer.

Lots of sunshine, not much rain (not enough), shorts on all the time…

I've been in leggings more this week more than shorts...
suppose it all to do with where you live and feel you are blessed to see /feel the sunshine...but then there's always a drought somewhere and leaky pipes/drains don't help...
