North Norfolk and Southwold which used to be our closest beaches. Now I’ve moved to Hampshire I live just ten minutes away from Lee on Solent which, despite it being pebbly has lovely views across to the Isle of Wight. I haven’t been swimming there for over a year though due to the appalling sewage problems. 😡
There are some lovely beaches on the Island but the cost of the ferry is prohibitive.

We had a holiday on the Isle of Wight many years ago. The weather wasn't great but we looked across to the mainland where we could see one spot always seemed to be sunny.

We pinpointed it as Swanage and had a lovely holiday there the next year when the DC were very young

Oh yes. Pembrokeshire beaches are lovely.

I like the Gower's long stretches of sand, but prefer small bays, so would have to vote for my home town, Broadstairs.

The long structure gives it away: Southend.
I know it’s not pretty 😂 but, I got the estuary, with huge skys, I can be in London in an hour.
I can be at the airport in 15 mins where I can get a flight to numerous destinations in Europe.

I’ve got a photo of my mum, little brother and me taken on the pier at Southend in 1965. We’re sitting in a little carriage waiting for the miniature train that ran/runs along the pier to move off.
Great place for a day out, we lived in East London then and Southend was our nearest seaside town by train.

My favourite place in the world, Instow in Devon, also love Lyme Regis, another of our favourite days out is Portland, not exactly the seaside, but stunning.
Actually I think I love any seaside, with a few exceptions.

West Wittering and Clymping in Sussex . Any north Cornish beach in the winter .
Brighton and Hove for the buzzy vibe .
Ferring, also in Sussex , free parking , dog friendly and a great cafe .

Luskentyre, Isle of Harris.

Bournemouth, Swanage and West Wittering. Nice sandy beaches.

Lots of gorgeous beaches in England and Wales I would be hard pressed to choose one. We had a wonderful week here in Bigbury on Sea, Devon a couple of weeks ago, I loved the beach with views of Burgh Island made famous by Agatha Christie.

We used to live not far from there, it's a great place for children. We had one of our first dates in the Tom Crocker Inn, no longer there I understand.
Bantham, just across the river, is lovely.

We used to love Whitsand Bay in Cornwall, it was unspoilt but rather a trek down the cliffs and back up again. Don't think I could tackle it now!

The beaches in West Wales are lovely and not so crowded.

Woolacombe beach, Fistral beach in Newquay for surfing.

North Norfolk beaches in general, Mundesley in particular.

We love Aldeburgh and are due a visit.

Woolacombe holds very happy memories of family holidays when the children were small.
