Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 13°C, with a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms.

A shock for you Mick, I'm surprised that you were sent home after five hours, especially as you live alone. Surely the hospital should have been monitoring you?
The blood test to look for cardiac markers and determine if you have had an attack, is standard procedure and takes four hours, it is often repeated after another four hours.
I have experienced this on a number of occasions. One of the times, my COPD was the reason, but I sill spent all day in hospital and still had two sets of tests done.
It would be wise to speak to your GP.

Today is a Babydoll day, we cannot go out, because I have a GP telephone consultation to discuss the treatment for my newly diagnosed conditions.
My expectations for a successful outcome are low, not because I am of a negative disposition, but because I have suffered unnecessarily for the last eight eight months, due to his refusal to investigate.
Thank goodness I have my RA consultant on my side.

I have purchased a paddling pool for BD and DIL is packing her swimsuit.
I will not bore you with the antics of DH and I trying to inflate it, we were in stitches. I bet BabyD would have done it in minutes.🤣 we had two pumps and still no success!!!

Yesterday, I received a letter with an appointment to attend the phlebotomy hub at the end of September. I have no idea, who requested it and why. 🤷‍♀️
It certainly wasn't my GP, my surgery has its own phlebotomists.

Dollie arrived unexpectedly after her first day back at school yesterday, such joy!
She made a beeline for the garage freezer and gran's* ice cream shop..
It is exhausting being at school.🤣
Some considerable time was spent deliberating what to choose, After much humming and hawing, and true to form, she picked her usual mint choc Cornetto!, just as I predicted. 🤣

Needs must and all that, BabyD will be here soon looking for her pancakes and fruit.
I will need to hide the paddling pool out of sight, otherwise she will want to eat breakfast in it.
DS is arriving earlier and earlier and I am not good in the morning. .
It will be a long day, and I also I am duty sacristan tonight.
To my delight, DH has suggested Chinese takeaway, as he knows I will be wiped out.

Yesterday all medical supplies were delivered.I was able to attach the sensor with help from a YouTube video.When the first one was attached I was out cold so had no idea what to do!I finally feel I am on the right track now🙏🏻

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 16° with blue skies. Mick I'm sorry to hear about your health worries. Pantglas have a lovely trip. Ashcombe safe journey to your DH. Cornergran at last! I'll keep my fingers crossed it works. Kalu ouch Do painkillers help? At least, living in Scotland, you won't have to worry about hot weather for long.
Yesterday the painter arrived promptly and I made him bacon rolls and a cuppa. It's a running joke with him that he gets the best of food at my house. If it keeps him coming, I won't complain! I then went to pick up my prescription and took a drive to a furniture shop nearby which has lovely things. I found two rugs I loved so I'll go back after all the painting etc is done and decide which one to buy. Back home to make smoked salmon sandwiches for painter and me, then I headed to dgs1's school to work in the library for an hour. Everyone was really pleased to see me which was heartwarming. The paint I had picked for all my walls, however, is decidedly not the colour I thought it was. I thought I had picked a pale cream colour. Instead I have a pale grey! After the initial shock, I like it.
Dgs1 had a good day at school and came home filthy from playing football. He used his jumper as a goalpost. Dgs2 didn't have a happy start to nursery and was very upset but his teacher phoned DD to say he settled quickly. He had orange and apple for snack. It's been a long process getting him to vary what he eats but this summer he decided to be healthy (in between scoffing cakes and ice cream) and now eats broccoli and asparagus as well as blueberries.
Today the painter will completely finish the living room and do the second coat in the hall. I think he plans to do the ceiling and first coat in the kitchen. I might go to the local big charity shop to get rid of a bootful. Then I'm thinking of taking the car to be cleaned, inside and out. I'll see as my ankles became very swollen yesterday and are still a bit swollen this morning. I plan to go back to the library for another hour. Then I'll put my feet up on my bed. I'll wait til tomorrow to restore the living room to it's liveable state. Have a good day all

Good morning from Malta where we have another day with a high of 38°C expected.

Unlike some of you, I love the heat and dread winter and having to wear lots of clothes. I just love the vibe summer has here, it’s quiet in the afternoon then comes alive in the cooler evenings with people sitting outside their front doors, children and families enjoying a stroll to the piazza and just generally relaxing.

Yesterday I went to a rather nice soft play with DD3 and the boys. They had a great time and it’s good to see them playing together more now.

I did think of you Grandmabatty as there were some screamers! At one point DD3 and I looked at each other and said ‘DGS1’! He was told to stop but kept doing it so got put in time out. Broke his heart sobbing ‘Mummy put me in time out’ but promised he wouldn’t scream again.

Two minutes after going back to play, another scream rang out so it was time to go home!😂

I watched tennis until it was rained off then went to bed and decided not to get up to watch the later matches, although I kept checking the scores as I woke up every so often.

I’m now tired but need to get up as I’m meeting my friend for coffee this morning after which I have my nails and hair.

Tonight I’m sleeping over with the boys as DD3 and SiL want to go to the village festa. It will be noisy wth the fireworks so I don’t anticipate getting much sleep.

Sorry you had a scare Mick but glad you were able to summon help and get seen at the hospital. Take it easy for a while now.

Morning a Mick, morning All. The sky is lightening over our corner of Somerset. A mix of sunshine and cloud forecast for us today with a pleasant 23 degrees

Oh heck, Mick, that sounds worrying, take it easy today, it might be an idea to make your GP surgery aware.

A modern miracle yesterday, a young woman engineer took a straightforward approach to our malfunction meters and changed both. One was definitely faulty, the other the wrong type for the location. Success, although I’m afraid to jinx it by saying so. It’s only taken 16 months. As well as her technical expertise her friendly, empathetic approach was much appreciated.

We’ve decided on a wander out today. No rush and no idea where, maybe inland to avoid coastal busyness. Lunch will be involved.

The fjords are wonderful pantglas, I’m envious. Safe travels to your husband ash and all on the move.

Fingers crossed for all the young people waiting for their exam results today.

I’ll not see you all tomorrow morning. It’s injection round two at the eye hospital which means an earlier than usual start I’m quite relaxed about it now I know what to expect if less relaxed about the journey. .

I have been awake since 4.00am due to a recent arthritis diagnosis pain, lower back, left hip and knee, which appears to be worse in hot weather. My car will be picked up by the dealership for a due service so no car today and I doubt it will be returned by 2.30 for my trip to the hairdressers. Although quite local it is too far to walk so, short taxi ride there and back if necessary.

Good morning all from what appears to be another warm day here on the east coast of Fife. It was really boiling yesterday, I just had to sit outside in the garden lapping up the sun.
Today I’m having 2 rashers of bacon, one egg a fried tomato tea and toast for breakfast.The washing is on.

I did the all sinks and drains yesterday, having noticed that the shower was not draining so well. Not a bad job but it was time consuming. Almost finished this knitting, a top that will layer, it is chunky and I only have a few rows left to do. Short sleeves as I do not like playing yarn chicken

Gansey wool is ordered for ds, 3 cones. It is going to take months as the needles will be very thin 2.0 I think, same as I use for socks. I am looking forward to starting, I just need to finalise the pattern and sizing. I ordered a colour card and the colours are gorgeous, he has finally chosen damson

There is a subtle turning on the allotment, crown prince squash leaves are just starting to become autumnal, the 2 plants have produced a heavy crop of big squashes. I cycled there yesterday afternoon, just far enough to get some exercise because of slight hilliness each way

Yesterday I had the DGC in the morning. We began weeding but got too hot so they made pots in the cool studio and then made apple crumble with some windfalls.

Later I went into Edinburgh with my Italian helper to see Romeo and Juliet. It was a ballet. On the way home we met some old friends on
the bus, though we had to change buses as someone had vomited on ours so we were transferred.

Today a quieter day, I hope.

Good morning from a cool, breezy, cloudy Cornwall. Bliss. Did lots of bus jaunts around central Cornwall yesterday, relishing the cloud cover. Today I'll feed the menagerie and then head out again, this time to former tin mining countryside and maybe the north coast.

Cornwall Council did a bus pass survey and asked the reasons why we used our passes early (as so many do here, especially heading towards Penzance) and why we wouldn't want to pay before 9am. They obviously listened and we still have free bus travel any time of the day. Such a blessing.

Good morning from a spot on the hillside in south Glos where the sun hasn’t dawned yet. A restless night here so I’m feeling like a piece of chewed string 😵‍💫
I will take the dogs out shortly then possibly go back to bed for a bit, they always come first in my day.
Yesterday was quiet until DH came back from the village saying he’d lost his wallet and we spent an hour searching for it. He was adamant he’d already looked in the car etc and wouldn’t let me check saying it wasn’t there. Eventually, after retracing his steps in the village fruitlessly we returned to the car and I found it under the passenger seat! So that was good.
Today I don’t have anything planned, I did a good amount of housework yesterday, so I can do as I like today.

It’s cloudy here and “close”. Yesterday it was so hot I didn’t go outside until seven o’clock when I managed a short walk. I noticed how stressed the trees are at the moment, losing their leaves. I spent the afternoon in the cool of the dining room, drawing - I’d forgotten how therapeutic it is.
Today is walking group, then I will have lunch with DD and GS who gets his A level results this morning🤞🏻. This evening we are going out to a Thai restaurant for a meal.

Sad to read of all the health issues on this thread but the sheer bluddymindedness and determination to keep going and find positives amongst your family and friends is truly remarkable 🤗

We have our neighbours Golden Wedding party later today but won’t stay late or even imbibe 🥂in my case as we have an early pick up tomorrow to Dover for our cruise 🚢 to the fjords. It’s been on our bucket list for so long I’ll be glad to see a line through it on our return next week!

I’ll be keeping an eye on all your doings (along with the horizon 😉) and hope for good results whether it be GC exams or medical ‘uns!

Good morning from a very dry Bristol. Light but too early for sunrise here too.
I have started to notice trees/shrubs suffering and wilting. There is rather lovely camellia which is dying. A shame.
Yesterday was rather full on. Not too many people at the FAB caf3 and I was able to chat to the attendees.
In the afternoon!mi had the library book group. Our read was “Casino Royale”, a singularly silly and unbelievable story, even sillier than the original David Niven film. Even the men didn’t think they’d attempt another 007 book!
I then took the bus to the chemist for a prescription, then walked home as it wasn’t too hot and the next bus was a while later.
Had a bad night, been awake for at least 2 hours.
Taichi (and a nap) today with some sewing thrown in.

Last night we enjoyed a meal out with my DS and DGS3 at our favourite pub/restaurant. Unfortunately, we have to be up early for DH to return to France today after being together since mid- June. I will be driving him to Newton Abbot for a train to Paddington en route for St Pancras to board €*.
