Good Morning Everyone,
Its light but no sunrise yet here in Brackley this morning.
Today , after a experience yesterday , I had a mild heart attack, and pulled the cord and was taken by ambulance to the Horton at Banbury A & E , I spent 5 hours there before they real eased me with antibiotics and made my home , so today I will take it easy .

Good morning from the West Midlands.
Dear husband has cleared -off fishing, so very peaceful!
Myself & the dog are going to do some mending of clothes today, he is surprising good at hemming & darning, who knew??? 🤔

Usedtobeblonde Thu 14-Aug-25 10:12:49

Good morning from a much cooler Stockport.
Sadly the hot weather has started making me feel quite ill.
I have never been good in heat but now with age I cannot cope.
I cancelled my weekly visit to a friend yesterday which did not go down well.
I am the only person she sees regularly but I refused to feel guilty, I was not going to go.
Heat permitting I shall go today.
I have my annual blood tests this morning, last year I was found to have markers for blood cancer, I was told at my age it is unlikely to affect me in my lifetime, unsettling though.
Have the best day you can everyone.

No Madeleine today..

Morning all from a slightly cloudy and windy west Oxfordshire.

I’m feeling a bit under the weather this morning. I had a telephone call from the surgery yesterday about my thumb. I will have a telephone consultation with a physiotherapist a week Friday. In the meantime I will carry on with painkillers and a thumb support. Thing is, after having a shower and getting dressed it takes an hour or so to get over the pain and discomfort. I have so many things I want to do, but it’s too painful. Mustn’t complain.

OH has just suggested visiting our local NT property, but I’m not sure.

Have a good day everyone. It shouldn’t be uncomfortably hot today.

merlotgran Thu 14-Aug-25 09:12:37

Good morning everyone from a sunny/cloudy south coast. It’s the U3a picnic today at a local garden to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its creation. I’m looking forward to seeing some members from other groups although I won’t stay long as Peggy’s health is causing concern and I don’t like leaving her for long. She now has to be fed little and often or she regurgitates her food and is losing weight as a result.
Hope everyone has the best possible day. Takecare,Mick and stay out of the heat.

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.

I am feeling much better today. I haven’t checked my blood pressure yet as I have just finished the last of my morning meds. Yesterday it was 124/84, such a relief after the highs over the weekend. Only plans for today are our usual morning walk.

That much have been frightening Mick, definitely take it easy today.

Have a lovely holiday Pantglas, the fjords are spectacular and best seen from the sea.

Romeo and Juliet is one of my favourite ballets Grammaretto.

Good that the necessary supplies have arrived Susan56 .

Glad the meters seem to be sorted Cornergran. I have my next eye injection next week, they are nowhere near as bad as you think!

Thinking of our poorly grans and those with troubles.

Wishing you all a good day, whatever you’re doing 🌹

Good morning Mick and all from a cloudy northwest coast. Sorry to hear about your health scare Mick and hope things are settling down.

My poor wee car failed its MOT yesterday (corroded brake pipe) and needs doable work. The problem is that the garage can’t fit it in until the week after next and after ringing other recommended garages, the situation is the same. I’ll pop into one more in the morning and see what they say. I’m away for a few days in the IOM next week so not sure what to arrange…

Out to lunch with my over ninety friend today. I was going to pick him up, but will now take a taxi. His favourite restaurant is just outside the town. Later today I am having two windows measured for replacing.
Long FaceTime with sister in the south, just returned from Latvia and Lithuania, new to her and she enjoyed it.

Good cruising Pantglas Bon voyage to olddudders and thoughts to all🌺

Ziplok Thu 14-Aug-25 09:05:57

Good morning all.

It’s going to be another hot day today, I think.

Goodness me, Mick, that must have been scary for you. I hope you can have a restful day today, and as you say, take it easy.

Best wishes to you all.

BlueSapphire Thu 14-Aug-25 09:04:16

Good morning everyone from another bright and sunny 🌞day in Northampton, was so hot yesterday.

So sorry to read of your heart emergency yesterday Mick - I hope you are resting today.

Had a lovely morning in the grounds of Delapre Abbey meeting fellow dancers from our teacher's various ballet and tap groups in the county. Afterwards my friend and I went to a lovely garden centre for lunch - I had fish and chips and a glass of wine, which went down very well! And meant I didn't have to cook yesterday evening!

Checked on my emails when I got home and found one from the local electoral office wanting more information after my recent application for a postal vote. Was a bit wary at first thinking it might be a scam, but I independently checked the email address and phone number and it all seemed above board. I managed to email the information they wanted.

Sainsbury's delivery this morning and a walk to the postbox with my DB-in-law's birthday card - he will be 83 next week! He and my youngest DSis met at a cousin's wedding in 1971.
No other plans for today, maybe a load of washing as I have a good pile of stuff in similar colours.

So many posts to read already this morning!
Wishing all a pleasant day.

Georgesgran Thu 14-Aug-25 08:57:42

Good Morning from an overcast Durham. Another sticky day forecast.
Coffee with a friend at 10 then another free afternoon. I’m letting jobs slide and must get back on track.
The light really is fading now, so Little Dog’s evening walk is getting earlier.
Good luck to our travellers, wherever they’re going and for those unwell, I hope things improve.

Best wishes to all, X

Morning from a cloudy S Hants, sun due later, it’s very humid and was a sticky night, I was bitten again too, right on my btm!
Yesterday I had an enjoyable lunch with a friend and later MrJ and I went actual food shopping rather than the normal delivery. Back to delivery next week!
No huge plans today, usual watering, loads of tomatoes and cucumber, Crown Prince are such a pretty, tasty squash karmalady.
You take care Mick.
Enjoy the cruise Pantglas should be a little cooler.
Safe travels to those on the move and thoughts with the poorlies.

Good Morning from a cloudy and sticky Co Armagh
Take it canny today Michael , and drink plenty of water
I’ve watered the greenhouse , the tomatoes are all ripening at once , the cherry ones are being eaten as we go in and out , like sweeties
Enjoy the day

A late good morning from a sunny, hot and beautiful S E Essex.

Dear Mick please take things slowly today, rest and let your body recover 🌸

Safe journey to olddudders

Pantglas I hope you both enjoy your cruise, we cruised the fjords in 2022, loved the scenery not so keen on the whole boat thing. We were earned at about how expensive Norway was, but we’re pleasantly surprised at prices for most things including coffee and snacks on dry land.

Thinking of all the teens waiting for their results today, such a worrying time for them thinking their entire future hangs on a little piece of paper…

Must go my cleaning fairies 🧚‍♀️🧚 have arrived.

kittylester Thu 14-Aug-25 08:29:06

Good morning all from a not very bright North Leicestershire but where it is quite sticky.

DH and the girls are off to a sculpture trail this morning while I am hoping to restore some domestic order and nip to the butchers.

I am also helping on an online Carer course this evening.

Our main excitement today, though, is A Level results for DS3 and DS4 playing for Derby County Academy.

Send best wishes to all with health issues and worries today.

grandMattie Thu 14-Aug-25 08:27:52

“Bouquet” as in Hyacinth? 🪻 😂😂😂

Sallyforth Thu 14-Aug-25 07:54:38

Good morning Mick and everyone. We have cloudy skies in Cheshire and there's some fresh air at the moment with a temp of 17C.

Goodness Mick that must have been a bit if a shock yesterday. Take things easy at home today. Hope there's something you enjoy on TV.

We don't have anyone waiting for results this year, but good luck to all those who do. Such a tense time for families.

I watched something on Netflix recently where grandma insisted on calling her wish list her 'bouquet list'. I rather liked that and have the Fjords on my bouquet list. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time Pantglas. Safe travels to all on the move.

Enjoy your day whatever your plans. Kind thoughts to all with worries. flowers

Liberty Thu 14-Aug-25 07:46:01

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk where I have a non stop day….stretch class, blood test, lunch with a dear friend and then late afternoon,a pedicure. Hope I can keep up with these appts which were made when the weather was much cooler.

Sorry to hear about your fright yesterday,Mick but reassuring to know you were able to summon help speedily.

Hope today is a good one for all however you plan to spend it.

ginny Thu 14-Aug-25 07:43:17

Good morning from N. Bucks where the sun has got its hat on and there is a gentle breeze.
Sorry to hear of your scare Mick please rest and take care of yourself.
Today we are going to visit long time friends ( over 50 years) so a car journey of just over an hour. Lots to catch up on as due to circumstances we haven’t seen them for about 2 years.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.

luluaugust Thu 14-Aug-25 07:40:01

Good morning from a sunny W Kent where we await to hear the results of the GD’s A levels we saw a pale GD1 yesterday and the sooner she knows the better. DGS3 ran a good tennis session and has eaten me out of house and home!
Today is bed stripping day and waiting to see if our gardener appears, he didn’t come last week as he had bad news about his health, we shall see
Sorry to hear you had problems Mick take it easy
Best wishes

Susan56 Thu 14-Aug-25 07:39:21

I hope the journey is straightforward tomorrow cornergran and that your appointment goes well.

karma your allotment and crops are fantastic.

brook2704 Thu 14-Aug-25 07:37:07

Good morning everyone from a very warm and sunny Inverness
What a shock for you mick, please look after yourself and take it easy for a few days
Safe journey to your DH Ash and everyone else on the move today
We’re looking after the DGC today, DD2 has a longish meeting in the office so we need to be around. Not sure what they’ll want to do though. I’m going out early evening to my dance class so I’ll need to keep some energy back!
Fingers crossed for all students getting results today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

cornergran Thu 14-Aug-25 07:35:24

Agree grannys., teenage life can be far from easy. Our unsettled teen gets GCSE results next week. Much as we love them we can’t predict a successful outcome but of course hope. 🤞 for your grandson. At 18 and 16 they have plenty of time, it just doesn’t feel that way.

harrigran Thu 14-Aug-25 07:33:20

Good morning from the NE where the forecast is for 25 degrees.
Yesterday I spent an hour or so talking to my neighbour in the garden, her grief is still very raw.
I heard that two ex neighbours have also died, at my age I should not be surprised but it is still very sad.
Today my sister and BIL are visiting and taking me shopping, must remember the cool bag so I can get some ice cream.
Have a good day everyone.

monk08 Thu 14-Aug-25 07:26:43

Good morning all from an overcast Black country.
Mick what a shock do take it easy for a few days.
Today we are changing our car we had it from new 17yrs ago but unfortunately its developed a fault which they are unable to get a part for they have fixed for a 2nd time but cannot guarantee how long it will last 2wks was the last time, so rather than worry every time we go out will change it.
Safe journey back olddudders and anybody else on the move, best wishes to anyone celebrating and virtual hugs where needed.
Have the best day you can everyone and may you all find some ☀️.

GrannySomerset Thu 14-Aug-25 07:22:27

We hardly saw the sun yesterday though it was still sticky and today looks similar so another quiet day with minimal activity is on the cards though I will wash a number of winter sweaters while drying is so easy. Otherwise it will be admin and reading while I wait to hear how disastrous DGS’s A level results are. He has no plans at present, which worries me, and his lack of commitment is not ideal. Not easy being a teenager nowadays.
