Cooler weather means my Birkenstock look a-likes have been put away and my new M&S trainers have come out!

It’s lovely wearing a pair of new springy trainers..

What have you got on your feet today?

MaggsMcG Mon 18-Aug-25 15:07:54

Archies Flip flops mostly because they help with my Plantar Fascitus (SPel)

I recently bought some Skechers sandals.
And they are so comfy.
It’s like walking on sponge. Lovely and springy.

Wish I’d purchased them ages ago.

I find trainers a bit clumpy, so avoid them usually.

Clarks flat sandals which are over 20 years old but still in good condition and better still most comfortable.

Just dropped a glass in the kitchen so wearing these Hotter sandals for now. I loathe wearing anything on my feet much to my diabetic nurse’s dismay smile

shysal

Almost all of my shoes are Skechers. Today's are white slip-ins

I fancied these but when DH slipped out of his and had a nasty fall, it put me off.
I wear my skecher sandals from first sun to very last, and barefoot in the house.
Trying to find a decent arch support springy soled for winter, but find skecher trainers too fat

In the Madrid Capital, it is 30 degrees centigrade and we have both been in our Sportshoes ( Zara / Oysho / Adidas ).

I wear "mules" which are backless mini heels with pointy toes for a dressy look ..

Formal heels .. ( in photo ) ..

Fitflops for me in the summer and trainers with socks in the winter. I wonder how much I’ve wasted on uncomfortable shoes worn once over my life time. My feet look good, no bunions, but are a weird hard to fit shape, quite narrow with even narrower heels which narrows my choices very much.

I will soon be getting my third pair of these Birkenstock clogs, My last pair were a fab royal blue suede, unfortunately very grubby now with gardening..

Grandmotherto8 Mon 18-Aug-25 14:16:14

I wear my beloved Birkies then lurch straight into my beloved UGGS. But I have just bought these gorgeous Birkenstock Boston clogs and will be dividing my year into 3. This may be a repeat post if so apologies.

Sketchers do a whole range of trainers which have false laces..that your foot just slides into…I got them when I was having trouble with my knee.

YayaAnge Mon 18-Aug-25 14:14:09

Ecco sneakers today - love the comfort of dual width insoles which are great for my broad feet. And perfect for the long night / day so far in the hospital waiting for my granddaughter to be born any time very soon 🥹

Grandmotherto8 Mon 18-Aug-25 14:12:13

I usually lurch from my various beloved Birkies straight to my similarity beloved UGGS. But this year I have bought some gorgeous Birkenstock Boston clogs to be my transitional Autumn footwear.

grannysue101 Mon 18-Aug-25 14:11:04

Flyflots - clogs in winter, sandals in summer. Or bare feet

Kats2 Mon 18-Aug-25 14:09:18

Ive got the one with the five toes separated I bought them years ago on Key West I’d forgotten all about them..I need to sort them out again..

Janiepops Mon 18-Aug-25 14:06:56

Always barefoot indoors and in garden pegging out etc, but slip ons for going out.

Cazza1953 Mon 18-Aug-25 14:01:09

Being diabetic I was told not to go barefoot so I wear these in the summer and furry slippers in the winter

Angelafeet Mon 18-Aug-25 13:58:51

Won’t be giving up my Archies till my toes are really frozen 😂

Pantglas2 Mon 18-Aug-25 13:57:35

Barefoot at home spring to autumn with sheepskin boots the rest of the year but these are my lovely Fly Flots for out and about in clement weather.

grannyteddy Mon 18-Aug-25 13:54:28

Barefoot in the house as always! I shouldn't as a diabetic but I don't really like shoes especially when it's warm.

AuntieE Mon 18-Aug-25 13:50:42

Bare feet indoors and in the garden, except while I am attempting to cut back a hedge that reminds me forcibly of the story of the Sleeping Beauty. In the hedge I wear clogs.

When I leave home to shop etc. I put on my ecco sandals.

But I do own ladylike high-heeled shoes and sandals which I can still walk in.

Mauduit24 Mon 18-Aug-25 13:48:03

For me they are comfortable but it depends on what style you buy . Post foot surgery it’s wonderful to be able to buy comfortable foot wear for the summer months

Mauduit24 Mon 18-Aug-25 13:46:20

My Birkenstocks never get put away . It’s still summer time here .tbh I wear them around the house all the time

Menopauselbitch Mon 18-Aug-25 13:46:17

Sandals or bare feet. I know I’m going to get vilified but I think Birkenstocks are the ugliest things I’ve ever seen. Sorry.

knspol Mon 18-Aug-25 13:43:47

Wishing my feet looked as good as these, where are your bunions???

grannyqueenie Mon 18-Aug-25 12:37:47

grannygravy you’re wearing my feet!! Bought Fitflop walking sandals in the spring and have worn them almost every day, hence the striped foot look!
