Cooler weather means my Birkenstock look a-likes have been put away and my new M&S trainers have come out!

It’s lovely wearing a pair of new springy trainers..

What have you got on your feet today?

Marydoll Mon 18-Aug-25 11:09:58

Can't do barefoot!
Im on my way out, my shoes need to match my dress.😉

My inside shoes.

mamaa Mon 18-Aug-25 10:39:28

Barefoot inside during the Spring/Summer and Croc flip flops outside although I did cut my foot on a shard of glass recently in the kitchen and vowed to keep my flips flops on when indoors but haven’t done!
Then when it start to get cooler-slippers indoors, and Skechers outdoors without socks if possible- have pairs in white, blue and black Go Walk, comfiest shoes ever for me.

Am having pedicure tomorrow, hence why I have not shared pic of my trotters! 😉

Mostly barefoot. Currently with weird tan marks from wearing sandals to go out. Nail polish refresh today!

Feet are fascinating. I have my mother's feet.

On my bare feet at this moment I am wearing a cool breeze block from the garden as I sit here with both feet up on it under the computer table

I go fairly seamlessly from Birkenstocks to boots, as I find these more comfortable than regular shoes. I leave my crocs in the back lobby for garden activities, fetching washing in, watering pots etc. My taste is shared by others, it seems
I don't always close the door to the lobby.
Last week I found one croc and one sandal on the lawn with teeth marks- used as toys by the local foxes.

Beautiful socks Baggs. How is Bauchles pronounced please? I'm assuming it is a Scottish word.

Greyduster Mon 18-Aug-25 07:00:36

Indoors I try not to wear any kind of footwear as I have the beginnings of arthritis in one of my toes. Outdoors: trainers, Skechers Go Walk, or Salomon walking shoes. If I need something “tidy”, these:
Baggs your boots look like my old Meindl walking boots - the best and most comfortable I’ve ever worn. They finally fell apart last year!

Hello 👋 Baggs you've reminded me that my dear friend's Mum used to call her slippers her 'bauchles'. I haven't heard that word for a long time, it brings back happy memories of childhood.
Today, I've been wearing Scholl's flip flops ( with the arch support) around the house, and Skechers espadrille style sandals out and about. Very comfy.

Fidelity2 Sun 17-Aug-25 23:40:15

I have just been reading the post about shoes and am amazed at the number of people who don't wear shoes or slippers about the house, I would be stubbing my toes or treading on something sharp!

Maggymay Sun 17-Aug-25 22:42:31

Barefoot in the house, outside pavers pumps.
After a bad fall two years ago I no longer wear flip flops.

Barefoot - Sorry, I’m a dark TV Room

Baggs

Wish I could walk around barefoot more often but my feet are usually cold. Today I wore Swedish sheepskin slippers when I got up, then my old hiking boots while in the garden (yes, necessary on our wild and Boggy Brae), then changed into my old elk-leather bauchles in the house. The socks I hand-knitted and they work in boots and bauchles.

Love those socks Baggs!

What lovely feet all the three barefoot GNs have.

I know, am very envious!

hollysteers Sun 17-Aug-25 22:07:46

Posters remarking that they don’t want to post pics of their feet remind me of my DD who has always hated what she calls her ugly feet.
We joke now that she grew up with the refrain “At least you’ve got feet!”😁

dogsmother Sun 17-Aug-25 20:29:04

Baggs your socks are stunning! I had a great aunt who knitted socks but certainly not to that beautiful standard.

You’ll have to take my word for it but today I walked the dogs in my oldest (Nike) black and orange trainers, then pottered in the garden in a pair of DD’s cast off flip flops, and have a V shaped tan line. Barefoot now on the cool kitchen tiles while I stone plums my neighbour kindly brought round.

grandMattie Sun 17-Aug-25 18:59:00

Hate wearing shoes, so am barefoot in warmer weather and socks in cold weather. Naturally, I do have something on my feet when going out - but not to the bins/clothes line, in summer.

NotAGran55 Sun 17-Aug-25 18:50:24

FitFlop canvas Rally trainers in cream today - one of last year’s colours. So comfortable I also have them in navy and khaki.

I’m barefoot. In the spring sandals on as soon as possible and wear them until as late into the autumn as I can.

Mt61 Sun 17-Aug-25 18:26:42

Some nice, well kept tootsies on here.. won’t post mine as my toes need shaving ha.
Something comfy & flat for me. The high heels are long gone.

May I ask where you bought your lovely trainers? I need slip-ons after a knee op, looking for white. Lace ups aplenty but slip ons seem to be rare. Thanks

I have bought many pairs if Skechers so I can confidently order the right size on line. Ebay have a good selection of Slip-ins, but if you prefer to shop in person Sports Direct usually have a good choice. They have an on line shop too.
Slip-ins are the most expensive version of Skechers, but worth it to me as I have joint problems due to RA.

Greenfinch Sun 17-Aug-25 17:54:54

Thanks Sago. I’ll stick with mules then.

Sago Sun 17-Aug-25 17:51:24

Greenfinch

I call these mules. But some refer to them as sliders. What is the difference please?

Sliders are flat, mules have a heel.

Keep them coming ladies, I’m enjoying this!
