I adore flowers and get them from my family for lots of occasions.
I think if you give flowers to others, especially a large bouquet, you have to bear in mind that a) they may not have a big enough vase and b) they may not know how to arrange them. In those cases, a big bouquet wouldnât be a very nice gift as it would be a worry! I am ok because my late mother-in-law demonstrated flower arranging at the WI and she taught me all I know.
If in doubt, you can always buy pre-arranged flowers in various containers from good florists.
Also, I am more than happy with flowers picked by my family from their gardens. Freesias and roses are favourites, but most of all, I adore Sweet Peas. My late grandmother grew them and their perfume reminds me of long Summer holidays with her and my grandfather in Wales. As long as itâs flowers or plants, bring it on!
