Keepingquiet the last time I went upstairs on a bus I had to come down backwards !

😂 Sorry, but that tickled me! But then I quickly realised I’d be in the same boat, so that wiped the smile off my face!

Sounds quite marvellous Rosieand herMaw.

Not the same thing really but we recently enjoyed upper deck views from our TGV train from Paris through Bordeaux to Agen where the line goes on to Toulouse.
Wonderful views across the countryside from a light and airy train.

Highlight of our holiday when the children were young was an open top bus ride from Bournemouth to Swanage….and back

We used to do Swanage to Poole and back. Lovely views.

When my DD and I went to Aberdeen to the University open day we travelled by bus. Homeward bound we sat at the front on the top deck all the way to Glasgow. The scenery was stunning.

Many of the buses on the route from our house into town are double deckers, I haven’t ventured upstairs yet as the stairs look very steep. However last year we took some hop on hop off tour buses when we were in London with our grandchildren and the best views were upstairs so I did manage the stairs.

I love going upstairs on the bus- it's getting down the stairs that's the problem!

The Gdcs rarely go on a bus at home, so whenever possible I take them on buses here, even when it’d probably be quicker to drive. Front seats on a double decker are their favourites, but a whole row at the back top deck will also do very nicely.

Oh, how the grandchildren and I loved our recent excursion on the open- top bus.
We managed premium seats at the top and enjoyed the whole journey, managing to ignore the envious looks of other travellers.
When we left, there was a very unseemly scramble for our vacated seats

I remember dashing up the stairs in the bus to get to the front seat first.
Can't dash now and a bit wary climbing stairs if the bus starts to move.

I can’t climb the steps now, but I remember how we used to love sitting upstairs as children.

It is very special, isn't it? Sadly they've dispensed with double deckers around here. However when we go to Cornwall or the Lake District they are mostly double deckers. The views are spectacular especially in the Lake District.

I went to town this morning on the bus. The usual buses are single deckers, the bus garage is just down the road and a double decker starting its route came to the stop. Because it had just set off I was able to go upstairs and sit in a single seat. The buses on the route are all new, electric buses and very plush. I was giddy because I love being on the top deck. Just me and one other person.
