Very thoughtful and understanding of Bertie.
He probably made the lady's day, and her companion's ๐Ÿฅฐ

Kind, sensitive young man, well done him.

No apologies needed, we'd be proud as well.

Well done Bertie thatโ€™s cheered my day.

What a wonderful boy. Thirteen is not generally an age when children appreciate being treated like little kids so he did very well. I wonder if he realised that the lady needed especial kindness. You must be very proud of him.

Sometimes small children can be surprisingly sensitive. What a lovely boy.

The more lovely stories like this, the better, I say.
Well done Bertie ๐Ÿ‘

Bravo Bertie!

And show off on GN as much as you like on a designated thread like this. I wish more posters did because I'm sure there's hundreds of lovely youngsters out there between us.

How lovely and it says a lot about how he's being brought up. All the family should be proud off Bertie and what a lovely name he has.

Yesterday, DH took Bertie (13) and Wolfie (6) to the park. As they were on the way home, a lady came up to Bertie and said 'Isn't you hair lovely' and proceeded to ruffle his curls and run her fingers through his very carefully arranged 'do'.

He stood smiling at her until she stopped. As she moved away, her companion thanked him and explained that her friend had Alzheimer's.

I was so proud of him for not giving in to what must have been his natural instinct to hurry away.

With apologies for the proud grandma moment - but I am.
