Good morning from wet s somerset

No news today, de-cluttering is finished and so are my trips to re-cycling for now. Gansey knitting is continuing apace, very enjoyable too

I am waiting to hear back from a friend, I want to fix a bit in her garden, not too hard for me but would be for her. She always finds it hard to become an acceptor rather than a giver so I am holding my breath. I have so much more energy than her

Another here with a quiet day ahead and am hoping that it evolves, it usually does

Have a good day

Good morning from an overcast S E Essex we have rain forecast (we did have torrential rain for approximately 10 minutes yesterday around noon)

We have The Imp today, DH is hoping to take him to the park before the rain while I go to the gym, I will be on Granny duty from 11, colouring and Lego along with feeding at regular intervals will be my afternoon.

We are off to the local Tapas restaurant this evening, it will be nice to eat without the smell of plaster and the hint/taste of plaster and building dust.

Stay dry folks 🙋‍♀️☔️

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and damp. Kalu best of luck. Rosesandlilac I hope your Bluetooth issue is resolved.
Yesterday I spent some time in the school library. I worked with two classes; one before lunch and one after. I managed to fix a couple of bent books too. Later, in a torrential rain fall, I went for a mammogram. It was all over very efficiently and quickly if just a bit uncomfortable.
Today my new living room rug is being delivered, sometimes this morning. I expect dd will be in with mountains of stuff for the boys. Dd and Dsil are heading to Majorca tomorrow morning to celebrate their tenth anniversary which was earlier this year. The boys are spending two nights at their other grandparents and then two nights with me. My garden centre friend is horrified and thinks I'm doing too much. The boys are really looking forward to it apparently. I definitely need to tidy up their bedroom here today and hang more paintings. Two require careful measuring as they are going on the same wall. That is not a strength of mine. Have a good day all

Good morning from Malta where it is cloudy but already 26°C and will rise to 37°C later.

The boys were angels yesterday. Took them up to the little play park where we’ve already made friends with several other little ones who go there regularly.

I shall miss having them on a daily basis as they are such good company now and very well behaved on the whole!

Had a lovely photo of DGD in the US being welcomed to her new softball team.

They have recently moved from South Florida to Tennessee so she has had to start at a new school and find a new softball team. She seems very resilient and just gets on with it. I do miss her. It’s nearly three years since we were together in person and not on a screen.

DD1 arrived last night having had a lovely time with her sister in Budapest. She said it was very expensive though. €10 for a cappuccino!

I have no plans for today other than to strip the bed and do a bit of washing. Later I shall be glued to the tennis!

Glad to hear Himself is back home and hope he will feel better surrounded by his loved ones.

Take care all and have the best day you can.☀️

Good morning all from a dry at the moment north Wales where our recent rainfall ☔️ is nowhere near enough to green up our pocket handkerchief of a lawn grandMattie!

A trip to the cinema to see Ballad of Wallis Island beckons with two friends is my treat today and we’ll have lunch first so no cooking for me today - the staff at PG Towers have been told to sort their own sustenance this evening…😂

Hope all having health woes have some respite and as good a weekend as possible, too many to name individually and I hate to leave folks out so 🤗 hugs to all x

Thank you GM. I am wishing the morning away.

It’s the silliest things that break us Roses. I hope a connection to blue tooth is solved soon.

grandMattie Fri 29-Aug-25 06:11:37

Good luck, kalu 🍀
I hope MD’s appointment went satisfactorily yesterday.

Good morning all. Dry this morning in Glasgow but rain this afternoon.

I have a 2hr dental appointment at 9.00 to begin the procedure of lower implants. I don’t have any problem going to the dentist but I know there will be a lot of discomfort involved. All worth it when the work is done I keep telling myself….just wish it was 11.30. No other plans for today as yet.

Best wishes to all for a good day.

Good morning from a still dark Torbay but I can see (and I heard!) that rain has fallen overnight.

In conversation with our relief postman yesterday, I discovered that he used to be a MFL teacher in a secondary school. He gave it up when his first child was expected because he wanted a job that didn’t encroach on his home life at all. An understandable choice but a loss to the profession in a subject area where there is a shortage.

Today I hope to venture into town on the bus as I need to pay in a cheque and take empty blister packs to Superdrug for recycling. A coffee in Waterstones will be my reward!

Could you call in at your audiology clinic for help with connecting your hearing aids to your phone, RosesandLilac? A frustrating issue.

Hope today is kind to everyone. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

RosesandLilac Fri 29-Aug-25 05:49:29

Good morning Mick and followers, it’s dark and damp here in south Glos, I’m not sure how much rain we’ve had overnight, we had one brief downpour yesterday.
I went back to the phone shop in town yesterday as I cannot get my Bluetooth hearing aids to connect to my new phone. Utterly frustrating and wasted journey, I ended up sitting in the car in tears. Why do the silliest things upset us? Anyway, they’re still not connected 🤬
I did do some arty bits yesterday, enjoyed fiddling around.
I awoke at silly o’clock this morning, made a coffee and I let bigger dog upstairs so she’s snoozing in the bed, tucked in behind my knees on top of a blanket. A rare treat for us both as I don’t usually let dogs upstairs.
Housework today, then let’s see what happens.
I wish we had some substantial rainfall, I am still watering my pots as I doubt if we’ve had more than a few millimetres.
Best wishes to you all 🌹

Good morning from Bristol.
Rain - we were forecast a wet, stormy day. Ha! We had about 20 minutes of heavy rain in the early afternoon : and the overnight rain has still to materialise. How I long for some more. (I shall then whinge if we have more that a week’s worth! 🤣)
Thank you so much for all your kind messages and comments yesterday; they really helped. I do have bad days but the last few have been especially low. I think the August isolation has given me too much time to think. Roll on September!
Other than taichi, I saw few people - they have been keeping indoors in preparation for the famous storms we were due.
I picked a whole load of baby tomatoes off my three plants. They have been prolific this year. I have been distributing them to my neighbours as I have had too many to eat. Yesterday, I decided to roast some in the air fryer for lunch. Oh, they were delicious!
Today, another empty. Spanish restarts in a couple of weeks. l shall be progressing with my latest quilt, assembling the squares.
Contentment goes a long way, love much and have @ good day.
Carpe diem ❤️🦩🦩🦩🦩
