Every morning and evening I go through the palaver of removing and replacing cushions on our bed, every bed in the house has a cushion arrangement!

It always seems a shame to throw them on the floor each evening and then there’s the huffing and puffing when my husband tries to replace them in the morning but gets it hopelessly wrong.

Do you fiddle and faff with cushions or could you not give a flying fig?

Pictures please.

We have cushions but not many. I never put cushions on the bed, they just have to come off every night then go on again in the morning.

Love cushions.

These Laurence LLewelyn-Bowen cushions from Dunelm are a good match for my new peacock green sofa and chair, although they are called teal. The colours in the photos are not true to life. The other cushions are old ones, one from India made from saris and the other from TK Maxx years ago.

I spend a lot of time every day smoothing away the giant imprint of my backside on the sofa's velour fabric!

I have cushions for colour - not too many though.

My cousin lives in a beautiful Arts and Crafts house. When she showed me around we went into her lovely bedroom overlooking the sea and I am not kidding, there were so many cushions on her bed that they came halfway down the bed. I asked her what she did with them when they went to bed and she said they put some on the bedside chairs and throw the rest on the floor!

Just one in our lounge…….on my armchair as I have short legs and it’s really uncomfortable to have my back against the back of the chair and my legs dangling……hence the cushion to shorten the seat.

Just pillows on my bed. The sofa in the living room has cushions to match, and that's it. I'm not into soft furnishings really.

No cushions on the beds or downstairs, can’t see the point of bed ones as I like to pull the duvet almost off the bed so it can air.Our living room furniture is comfortable without cushions.
Have enjoyed seeing some lovely cushions on here tho. There is a fashion for embroidery wool ones just now and they are really lovely.I like the William Morris patterns too.Maybe I can be persuaded to go over to the dark side😂

Oh, Primrose, I'm suffering from house envy about someone I've not met. Your cousin's house sounds lovely, including the cushions.

Chocolatelovinggran Sat 30-Aug-25 11:12:56

Beware, Oreo, you might be on the slippery slope to cushion - loving...

None on the bed. Ours are pretty boring.

merlotgran Sat 30-Aug-25 11:33:37

It can be a very dark side, if you go for deeper tones, purple, crimson for example. Even with lighter colours, don't be fooled, by the softness of cushions. They are simply the crack cocaine of soft furnishings. I've known people start with one or two and before long they've graduated to the bigger stuff like throws, blankets and rugs, once they've reached that stage it's really too late, often those hardened addicts can be found of an evening, whilst trying to stay focused on something suitably relaxing and nauseating such as with love Meghan and within minutes they can be found lying comatose under a throw or two surrounded by cushions. The only way out of that state is to embrace hard, hard benches and even then there is a tendency to relapse on entering anywhere that sells such pernicious and dangerous paraphernalia.

So don't say you haven't been warned Oreo!

My sister moved house and found an embroidery we had both worked on by tge fireside in our youth. I made it into. Cushion where my back is resting against at this moment. It is not very colourful but has great memories!

We stayed in a gite in Brittany in July. We took this picture when we saw the bedroom.

Patsy70 Sat 30-Aug-25 11:53:29

I do love bright cushions, but not on the bed, as I find it a ‘faff’ to put them on/take them off! 🙄. Here are some of mine.

Patsy70 Sat 30-Aug-25 11:54:32

Another one!

Patsy70 Sat 30-Aug-25 11:55:59

I can’t seem to post more than one image at a time - sorry! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Patsy70 Sat 30-Aug-25 11:56:51

These are for the patio.

Usedtobeblonde Sat 30-Aug-25 11:56:53

The tatty sofa with cushions.

Usedtobeblonde Sat 30-Aug-25 11:58:04

I hope it appears in time.

PamelaJ1 Sat 30-Aug-25 12:11:00

Oh no Sago not only don’t I give a flying fig but I don’t even make my bed!
I fold the duvet back and let the bed air.
However here is a photo of the cushions on the sofa just to prove that I’m not cushionist!

Made these hook & loop cushions for last Christmas. I’m rather proud of them 😂
