Show us your cushions……..we need something lighthearted!

I like 2 on the living room sofa and sit with 1 behind my back. I change them for each season/holiday.It breaks up the monotony and it keeps me from wanting to redecorate the whole room.

I couldnt be bothered to have cushions to put on and off the bed. I have pillows which are matched to the duvet cover, but also have a v shaped pillow that provides two things. One is to be behind my back when I am struggling with my back and am more comfortable watching tv or listening to a concert in bed. The other thing is to provide me with a way to raise my legs especially when I am having problems with either cramp or swollen legs. So pure practicality. (If I won the lottery or whatever I would have newly ironed linen sheets fresh every day. Bliss!

We had our latest bedroom curtains made as I no longer have my sewing machine, which was from the 1960s and died from overwork! The friend who made them was a professional curtain and soft furnishings maker. She had material over and made 2 cushions for the bedroom and they go on the chairs there, not the bed. We have a plain sofa with coloured cushions which match the spots on the curtains. I can't show you pictures of my beautiful orchid as it's real 😃

I still blush with embarrassment when I remember one year we posted photos of our Christmas trees and I compared LauraNorderr’s to a bottle brush.

Before I saw this post, I had just made the bed. And I said to hubby “if I die, will you still arrange the cushions on the bed, or leave them on the floor?” He replied “they will all go in the bin” 😆 He loves me really. I have retro patterned ones on my sofas to brighten them up. I use them to balance my iPad on and for a little nap.

I just love glimpses of lovely homes when a thread like this started.
I have mind pictures of regular GN contributors and then I get a mind picture of their lovely homes.

Cushions?? NOOOOO!!!!! Not anywhere, even the ones that match our motorhome decor are indoors and vacuum packed in a cupboard out the way.

Only one on the bed as it supports my back when reading.

I’ve loved this thread but then I’m obsessed with cushions! Well, some women buy shoes so …. Get over here Oreo you know you want to and you’re halfway already with that fake orchid. I haven’t got any cushions on the bed but can’t see it’s much of a faff to toss them on the floor at night and put them back in the morning, the work of moments. All your cushions (and pets!) are lovely. I shall be changing mine to the autumn range soon! 😉

Beds, all five have cushions on them. Caught my sons when on one of their flying visits, taking pictures of their beds. Asking why, was told to help put the cushions back how I had them when they left! Wish they had been so tidy minded when they were young. PS The tidy effort only lasted for one visit.

My cushions cum hot-water bottles are self-propelling.

I don't have them on the beds. Totally pointless.

Thank you! I wish I had made the cushions, as at one time, I would have done, but not really up to it now. They were from a lovely shop in Canterbury called ‘the Cotswold Co’. I didn’t think the prices were bad at all in there. I’ve just tried to look on the website to check the price but it’s down.
They do beautiful furniture and I could have bought a lot more in there if I could have afforded it!

Not only do I have one fake orchids in my hall, I have two.
I have a smaller one at the other end of the hall. It is on a table under a mirror.
I just went to take a photograph of it when I realised there was a wrinkly old woman, still in her dressing gown staring into the camera, a reflection in the mirror.
I can’t inflict that on you on Sunday morning but I have now informed you of the fact.

Oh bless you, Usedtobeblonde. I am so aware of my wrinkles too. I used to look in the mirror and see my Mum. Now, I see my grandmother! As she died when she was 60, and I am now 80, I don’t quite know where I can go from here! 😱
