Every morning and evening I go through the palaver of removing and replacing cushions on our bed, every bed in the house has a cushion arrangement!

It always seems a shame to throw them on the floor each evening and then there’s the huffing and puffing when my husband tries to replace them in the morning but gets it hopelessly wrong.

Do you fiddle and faff with cushions or could you not give a flying fig?

Pictures please.

Beware, Oreo, you might be on the slippery slope to cushion - loving...

Oh, Primrose, I'm suffering from house envy about someone I've not met. Your cousin's house sounds lovely, including the cushions.

No cushions on the beds or downstairs, can’t see the point of bed ones as I like to pull the duvet almost off the bed so it can air.Our living room furniture is comfortable without cushions.
Have enjoyed seeing some lovely cushions on here tho. There is a fashion for embroidery wool ones just now and they are really lovely.I like the William Morris patterns too.Maybe I can be persuaded to go over to the dark side😂

Just pillows on my bed. The sofa in the living room has cushions to match, and that's it. I'm not into soft furnishings really.

Just one in our lounge…….on my armchair as I have short legs and it’s really uncomfortable to have my back against the back of the chair and my legs dangling……hence the cushion to shorten the seat.

My cousin lives in a beautiful Arts and Crafts house. When she showed me around we went into her lovely bedroom overlooking the sea and I am not kidding, there were so many cushions on her bed that they came halfway down the bed. I asked her what she did with them when they went to bed and she said they put some on the bedside chairs and throw the rest on the floor!

I have cushions for colour - not too many though.

My favourite cushion 😍

These Laurence LLewelyn-Bowen cushions from Dunelm are a good match for my new peacock green sofa and chair, although they are called teal. The colours in the photos are not true to life. The other cushions are old ones, one from India made from saris and the other from TK Maxx years ago.

I spend a lot of time every day smoothing away the giant imprint of my backside on the sofa's velour fabric!

Love cushions.

We have cushions but not many. I never put cushions on the bed, they just have to come off every night then go on again in the morning.

I like cushions. My DH can take them or leave them. We have three on the bed, ties in with our colour scheme. I put them on and take them off, in seconds. On our sofas we also have cushions. I like one in the small of my back when I’m relaxing.

Definitely no cushions on the bed. Who sees them during the day? A few downstairs for other people’s benefit not mine.

I have a sofa in my kitchen & it has a rainbow cushion accompaniment. It gives a lift every moaning! 🌈

Chocolatelovinggran Sat 30-Aug-25 10:28:29

I'm with TerriBull - no surface in my house is without cushions. I have to restrain myself if I see others that appeal to me. I thought of therapy, but cushions are cheaper.

We are in the midst of buying cushions for our newly refurbished upstairs sitting room. Up to now we have bought 2.

Keith looks very much at home, kittylester! 🐱

I like a cushion behind my back on the sofa, particularly as I seem to be getting shorter ☹

Flippinheck Sat 30-Aug-25 10:24:42

I use curtains on my sofa to add colour. I have them on my bed too but just so they can prop me up when. They get dumped on the floor overnight.

Don't like cushions anywhere!

No cushions anywhere, I’ve never understood their function, particularly on a bed.

Same! On beds, anyway. It irritates me in hotel rooms, when I have to chuck them all on the floor, when there’s not all that much floor space anyway.
On sofas, to me, it’s a different matter.

TerriBull Sat 30-Aug-25 10:17:21

Cushions everywhere, including the kitchen sofa. There can never be too many imo!

Usedtobeblonde Sat 30-Aug-25 10:16:29

I don’t have any on beds but an abundance downstairs.
I have a longe, a small sitting room which is mine and a conservatory.
With lots of furniture I have counted I have 26 cushions in those rooms.
My favourites I bought from M&S quite recently, they are green backs with white fronts covered in embroidery.
I shall try and post a photo later.
The lounge furniture is old and tatty so is covered in cushions to hide the fact.
I shall not replace it now, it will “see me out” as my mother used to say.

I've been told by members of my family I have too many cushions, they're part of a cohort of anti cushion weirdos. I take no notice whatsoever.
