Is this a scam, winter fuel payments

Just had a message come on my phone that says it is from Department of Work and Pension saying they have not received an application from me for winter fuel payments 2005-2006. My application must be by 1st September. They give a link to follow gov.through-subsidy.com/uk. This appears to be a site about electricity companies. I have never had to apply for payments previously (before they were stopped last year) they came automatically, and being of a suspicious nature I wonder if this is a scam. Would be interested to know if anyone else has had this sent them

Yes, you don’t have to apply.

These scam artists are low lives. Trying to trick older people . They make me sick, bartards. .

I received this message today too.

It's a scam, it was part of a "group chat" of unknown numbers. I deleted it and blocked the number. I post on another thread about this earlier today.

Thank you gransnet, didn’t see there was a thread about it already. Thought you would all know something about it. It is such a shame that you have to be suspicious about messages. Do hope that others ignore it.
