Tissues in the washing machine. I’ve just heard a tip to get it off your items . Put it all back in the machine with 6 to 8 dispensable aspirin tablets and put it on to wash again . It should all go .

I’m the tissue Queen in our house and try to always remember to check pockets but often one slips through into the wash 🙈

Oh dear, I bet everything is covered in white bits, give everything a good shake outside if you can and hopefully most of it will come off, check your washing machine drum in case there are any bits left in there you may need a quick wash to get rid.

& check the filter 👍🏻

I want to know whether you are blaming your husband or taking ownership, in other words who put the washing in the machine?
Either or both perhaps need to be 'trained' so it becomes automatic to check all pockets before clothes goes in the machine. The hassle is so annoying and takes forever to sort out. I shake it outside and then wash it again, usually that works. Remember to empty your filter too and to check around the rim of the machine. It gets stuck everywhere. As you can tell I did it years ago and decided never again.

I use a lint roller.

For tissue hassle I put a good bit of sticky tape round my hand sticky side out and go over the garments. It can get quite a bit off, but it is such a fag I know

I once washed one of my father's disposable nappies in the washing machine and had to call out an engineer .
He plainly thought that I was a fool .
It was a mistake !

It doesn’t sound like you really needed lightbulbs, Kittylester - the lightbulb was on but no one was home!

I’m the tissue culprit in this house, but I have improved over the years, sometimes I find some kitchen roll, a hard ball, in dried clothes, not shredded at all.

We use a sheet of Plenty kitchen roll instead of a tissue, as it's stronger.
As an added bonus if it does end up in the washing machine it comes out in one piece, no mess at all 🙂

Checking clothes for tissues is something I do without thinking now as the consequences of not doing so are such a pain kittylester.

Just like your DH, when Mr. S. pops out he's nearly always longer than I expect. This morning he popped out because we needed milk and I was wondering where he'd got too when he came back and had also bought .

I have just found a bar receipt in old trousers. Whisky and ginger and a pint of beer £4.50. Very old trousers

Yes just check all pockets before washing. Including your own as even a small one can play havoc with ruining your wash.

They do surprise you when you least expect it. I’d been talking about painting a wall in our bedroom, as a feature wall, for a while. I went out last week and when I returned he had done it as a surprise. Poor chap has health issues at the moment, so I was amazed he’d gone up the ladder to do it.
