I’ve never know my drawer to get hot

I haven’t seen that advice but DD recently had a new kitchen from one of the big suppliers and her cutlery drawer is under the induction hob on the island, hidden inside the upper of the two deep drawers. She uses those drawers as her larder, even for eggs and bread as well as dry goods and jars, the kitchen design is frankly terrible and I’m baffled at the layout they suggested (and that she accepted), but of course I know nothing and they’re experts!

I haven’t noticed a problem with the cutlery getting hot, don’t induction hobs only heat the pan? Steam rises so I don’t think that would be an issue?

PS There's a drawer directly beneath the hob at my future home.
Looking forward to comments from experiencenced users.

I think you will be ok. Just don’t store tea towels, although you can put a tea towel under your pan to save scratches. I just use paper towel.

Oh I never thought of that after we had ours fitted, kitchen guy never said.
Maybe because of the magnets.
Saying that I have a knife block in my drawer, tin foil & cling film.

I'm moving to a house with an induction hob so I am interested to know what people do regarding storing cutlery under the hob.
I understand from Google that it's possible, but good ventilation and circulation of air are necessary to prevent the drawer and contents overheating.

I’m thinking of buying an induction hob but have been told that you should not have cutlery stored underneath the hob. All my kitchen gadgets and cutlery are stored in a large drawer underneath where the hob will be fitted. Has anyone heard of this before I purchase one.
