Hope I don’t live to regret it but last night, around 11 pm, I saw and fell in love with a cruise itinerary over to Fiji and Samoa and booked and paid a deposit to the cruise line there and then. Figuring it might well be our last cruise ( old age creeping up for both of us ) . I’m not usually impulsive and prefer to weigh things up but, hey, once in a while. Hadn’t even had a drink, either.
Anyone else done anything just suddenly without a lot of thought ?

Driven 150 miles to surprise someone.

Great work, nanna8 - we are more likely to regret the things we haven't done, as we age, than things done. Carpe Dien and all that.

Good stuff. Just yesterday my DD was urging me to book as many holidays as I wanted and to get as many cats as I could before we're too old or unwell to enjoy them. Not sure what to make of that but it was kind of her. I think.
Meanwhile I can't think where I fancy going and neither can DH.

I was on holiday in Ireland August 2003, loved it, decided it would be a great place to live (my husband's home town). Moved 2 months later. Still here almost 22 years later. No regrets

At 74, I’m taking advantage of as many holiday offers as I can. DH hated holidays, but encouraged me to go anywhere I wanted, but other than married DD2, I had no-one to go with. Then DH’s bro-in-law died and I started to go away with his sister. Almost 10 years ago, my friend divorced, making her free too. So now, after DH died in ‘21, I’m lucky to enjoy 3 holidays a year.
Yesterday, after brief texts with S-in-Law, I shot off to TUI and booked us a week in Cyprus later this month.

I tend not to be an impulse buyer. I think things through
BUT
Just after Easter I bought a skirt on impulse in M&S, not a shop I use much, then a few weeks ago, in Tesco, another shop I do not use much, I saw the light polo neck and knitted cardigan that were the perfect match, so again I impulse bought, I showed it to DD who said, in an admiringway, that outfit was so me.

I am just waiting for the weaather to get colder enough for me to wear it.
