Recycle 5 empties or more, and spend £10 in-store to collect 500 Advantage Card Points*.

You have to spend £10 in-store to get the 500 points, that's why I just pop things into the box and don't bother with registering them.

I am grateful that Boots have a recycle service. Their app is awful though. But, also good that I don't need to travel to the next town to recycle the blister packs at Superdrug!
I have usedthe Boots recycle app twice, and each time I was just a little late claiming my points. Also, I thought the points just went onto my card - but not the case. In future I will just place all the empty blister packs in their recycle bin without the app hassle.
I will attempt the 'make up' recycling bit, and if that is equally ridiculous, I will delete the app.

My Boots do not recycle blister medicine packs. Nearest one is 45min bus journey - all my saved blister packs now in general landfill bin.

You take photos of the items you want to recycle and the app then tells you whether they accept them or not. There is a long list on the app. They don't accept shampoo bottles or tubes but they take most other things, I've taken hand cream, cleansers, sun cream etc and a Dove stick anti persperant. I admit it takes a bit of effort to wash out the tubes but I'm all for saving a few points for Xmas pressies or just for everyday toiletries.

Davida1968 - are you referring to used blister packs or unused? I take unused or out of date to a pharmacy. You don't get Boots points for those of course.

The Boots recycling is for used/empty blister packs. I would rather get 100 points for them than put them in the bin.

I don't usually shop with Superdrug so I wasn't aware they had a recycling scheme.

Frankly I think the Boots recycling scheme is a right faff. Much prefer Superdrug, where blisterpacks can simply be dropped in. (Has to be a Superdrug with a Pharmacy, I think.) However, each to their own!

It's all explained here. It's small items that your local council or other services won't accept. Boots might accepted them e.g.:

• Products made of composite mixed materials, such as metal and plastics.

• Products made of non-recyclable materials like toothpaste tubes and lotion pumps.

• Small cosmetics, such as travel minis, samples and mascaras.

Again I didn’t say but there’s a tub or big box in the store and you scan them and pop them in the letterbox and they add the money on Hope I ve got that right Molly I only been the once with her last week

I d heard of it She’s travelling for a year so I m going to put all my disposals in for her as I rarely buy from boots vans hopefully she ll have a few pound in her kitty when she comes back
