James and Jon wishing you DH a speedy and good recovery💐
JamesandJon hope your DH is making a good recovery 💐
JamesandJon, sorry I missed your post regarding your DH's fall. Thank goodness not much damage done, and hope he is recovering.
The next door village has its Harvest Home celebration today and it looks as though the weather will favour it, the last outdoor event of the summer round here. Need to brave the supermarket I think though could leave it a bit longer, but have nothing planned so it would perhaps be sensible to get it over with. During lockdown such a trip was the highlight of the week!
Good morning all from a damp Co Armagh, I’m not feeling top notch , I’ll look for some paracetamol
Sorry your OH had a fall , best wishes that all is well for your break JamesandJon
Good morning from a country hideaway where it is cloudy but dry. We shall have a relaxing day with a little lunch out
Best wishes to all
Good morning from South Lanarkshire, very dull sky but dry at the moment.
Lovely evening to look forward to NannyJan, I hope you both have a wonderful time.
Cocktails in your beach hut Pantglas, what a perfect way to celebrate the end of summer, serious envy here😊😎!
And another happy morning gathering cornergran, good luck to your DGD on the start of her Uni adventure, lots of happy events on here this morning.
I’ll get some much needed tidying done now before meeting two friends for lunch, so a nice day for me too.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
Good morning once again. I’m sorry no one has commented on DH’s fall.
Hwyl Fawr
Good morning from a slightly sunny south coast. Slept like a log last night thank goodness. Maybe I’ll have more energy today.
DD and DSiL are in Pembrokeshire visiting DGD2. A twelve hour round trip to deliver all her indoor plants!!
Housework, gardening or sorting out cupboards today. Such choices!!
Have a good day everyone.
Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
Just a quick hello as we’re off later on holiday to Devon. We haven’t finished packing!
Have a lovely day.
Good morning everyone from a cloudy, dry Northampton. The forecast looks good for the next couple of days, so I am pleased for my gardeners who are coming this afternoon for the first time.
Before that I need to pop down to the shops for a few things, and will probably find time for a coffee in M&S.
I had a good day out yesterday, although I failed to spend my M&S voucher - there was a dismal offering in the Rushden Lakes store. I will need to go to Milton Keynes! I did find a nice sweater in H&M, and had a nice pasta lunch and
in Wildwood.
The carpet company man arrived on time yesterday morning with samples of carpets for my second bedroom; he measured up, confirmed that they would deal with moving the furniture if I emptied it and gave me a quote which I accepted. Fitting will be the beginning of October.
Looking forward to having a nice tidy garden later today!
Wishing all a pleasant day.
Good morning from a dull northwest coast. I enjoyed getting back to the art group, where the chat seems more important than the artwork, however it’s therapeutic and I’m quite pleased with my watercolour. In fact I concentrate more when I work at home, but like the company.
I’m waiting for the plumber to contact me regarding my hidden leak, it’s always the weekend isn’t it?
Off soon to Church fair on the other side of town and a quiet day in store, but plenty of decluttering to carry on with.
Thoughts to all🌺
Morning, the sun has just broken through high cloud, I’ll get the bedding washed and out in a minute.
I had an unsettled night with a vivid dream that had me screaming, it frightened MrJ, I'm blaming it on my shingles jab.
My car passed its MOT, two new tyres needed soon, she had a service too, all by our local mechanic and £100 cheaper than the main dealer.
Usual Saturday with the newspaper, there’s a village fete locally I might go to this afternoon.
Your weekend sounds glorious Sar I hope your lurgy improves.
I too was pleased to hear from Blossoming.

Good morning from. a dry N.Bucks.
Home from holiday with DDs having had a lovely week with lots of fun and laughter.
Laundry to put in and a local food shop to do, the fridge is bare. Bits and bobs for the rest of the day . Homemade Lasagne for dinner which I must get out of the freezer.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.
Good Morning from Durham.
After a full on day yesterday, DGS1 had a sleepover here and didn’t wake until 8am. We’re both ready to meet DGS2 for breakfast at 10.30, then I’ll take DGS1 home and head for a nearby big(ish) garden centre for quite a bit of stuff. L
A relaxed afternoon will suit me!
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning from a dry and sunny NE, probably still cool as the heating is on.
Spent about an hour in the garden spraying the weeds, my neighbour came to chat. She wanted me to know she is going on holiday in a few weeks. I pick up her post, there is never very much these days as most companies are paperless. This lady does not have a computer, I wonder how that works.
Just need to do some housework in preparation for family coming tomorrow.
Have a good weekend.
Sar53 I hope your cough doesn’t spoil your boating activities, the weather is meant to be dry and warm, have fun 🤩
Good morning all from a damp Glasgow, where it is 12°C.
Pants, I love the sound of your beach hut 💚 and Roses, I am intrigued by your crayons.
GM, I think it is the same in most churches, a few willing horses and plenty complainers.
I have crept back into my own bed, Dollie has claimed the whole bed and I have been hanging on to the edge for dear life all night. It is worse than sleeping with DH.🤣
As I'm typing, a wee figure has just appeared in the doorway. She woke up and panicked, when she saw me missing. 😍
DH, who has just appeared with a cuppa and a hot water bottle for my hip, did a double take, when he saw someone lying on his side of the bed. 🤣
Yesterday, DH accompanied me to Silverburn. I sensed he would rather have pulled out his toe nails , than be there.
The plan was to go to the M&S food hall and then get US dollars for Dollie's trip to New York.
The look on his face was indescribable, when I noticed the M&S sale sign.🤣
I went into White Stuff to pick up a parcel, to find the assistant was a young parishioner, whom I was planning to contact. One less job to do.
After lunch, I felt exhausted and a bit out of sorts. The room started spinning and I felt awful. Then I had a thought, could it be my BP? It was in my boots, which was unusual, because it is always dangerously high. This is exactly what happened, when I had my overly dramatic faint a few weeks ago.
Of course I needed to find out why. It seems everything points to the new conditions I have.
DH's anxiety was actually making me worse and a lecture later from DD didn't help. It is so easy to issue orders, when one has no idea how my lack of care has affected my mental wellbeing.
If they had their way, I would be locked in the conservatory and fed a diet of Turkish dramas. 😉
This morning, I have to represent the hospitalised P,P at a meeting to form a new parish hall and social committee.
I have made it clear, that I will not be taking on any admin roles, nor clearing out the mountain of junk, which has accumulated over the years.
Vigil Mass tonight, however I can set things up, when I am there this morning, for the two young sacristans will be about to help.
I am learning to delegate.
I had a brief message from Blossoming she is slightly better. I hope we hear from her on the GM thread.
Take care my friends and enjoy your weeked.
I'm afraid I am feeling a tad overwhelmed at the moment and finding it difficult to process the news, which is posted. Please forgive me if I miss important news.
A little princess is lying beside me, watching You Tube rubbish ( please don't tell her parents!).
I am off to get her an interim breakfast, ( her request), while I make the pancakes.
Happy days!
Good morning from Shropshire where a sunny day is forecast.
Yesterday morning wasn’t as restful as I had hoped. The GP asked me to call the hospital to find out when I would be having a particular test.No record of me having been referred and no sign of my discharge letter🤦🏼♀️After a frustrating nearly two hours on the phone I phoned PALS who were really helpful and are on the case.I then phoned the GP surgery. The lovely receptionist put me down for a phone call which I got within the hour and the GP is chasing the referral while PALS chase the discharge letter.Very lucky as sometimes at the surgery I would be told someone will phone in a week.
The children have been very well behaved and helpful.DD and SIL were at a wedding and I think the children were warned to behave.H started to wind his sister up at one point but stopped as soon as he started with a look from his sister!Today we will go into town for hot chocolate and they love the charity shops!
DD is making a meal for us all this evening then we will watch The Thursday Murder Club.
Thoughts to all our good morning friends with mountains to climb.
Wishing everyone the best day possible🦩🌻
Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s dry and sunny but cool out. A warm day is forecast so I’ll do a little more gardening today. The washing is on and I’ll be able to get it dry outside later. I still have a horrible cough, but am feeling a little more human. I won’t see family today, weekend activities for the grandchildren have resumed after the summer break, and they’re also going to Radio2 in the park later today.
I ordered some bulbs yesterday in the hopes of being able to put them in the garden rather than in pots.
Sar a lovely weekend for your sail and the gig rowers. cornergran enjoy your family breakfast, and I hope your granddaughter has a great time at uni.
Best wishes to all those who are struggling in any way.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning from Malta where the sky is blue, the sun is shining and a high of 37°C is forecast.
Had fun with the boys yesterday, then DD1 and her friend arrived from their week away in Crete so I went to my hair appointment without the boys, much to DGS2’s fury! Apparently he had a meltdown when he realized I had gone, poor little chap.
After my haircut I went to clean my car at the do-it-yourself car wash then stopped at Eurospin (which is similar to Lidl) for a few necessities.
Watched the tennis semifinals last night hence I’m up rather later than usual.
No plans at all for today. The house is tidy and spotless, just a small load of laundry to do.
What a pity your DH spoiled his birthday surprise NannyJan!
Happy weekend to all.☀️
Good morning from a grey S E Essex.
No builders today, I will go to the local butchers and shops first thing and I need flowers for the sitting room and kitchen.
Then I am going to cull the toys and books in the play room, ready for the new curtains and bits next week.
I also have to move into one of the completed bedrooms so they can start in our bedroom on Monday, like packing for a holiday without the sun or travel 😹😹😹
Enjoy your day 🙋♀️
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it will be dry but cloudy all day. Yesterday we had a fair bit of sun so a good day for laundry. I went out and bought some paint samples for the living room. I was expecting the small ones but there’s enough in each one to paint the downstairs cloakroom! They are ‘trade’ colours and have to be mixed. I only want to paint a sheet of paper so goodness knows what I shall do with the rest. I hope this will enable me to finally make a decision. The clock is ticking. I called in at Dunelm on the way home which seemed to be busy with new students and their beleaguered parents!
Today I will do a food shop, cut the front lawn and generally potter about.
Have the best day you can folks.
Good morning from a dry yet dull Black Country, where it was very sunny yesterday.
Took Mum for a check up at the Dentist, whereupon he informed me that after the last visit they only need to see her once a year. So wondered why Receptionist didn't inform me when I rang to make the appointment. Hey ho.
I bought tickets as part of MrJ's birthday present a couple of weeks ago to see Richard Ashcroft as he has said he would like to see him, also booked hotel for overnight stay. Last night he said "by the way, I have booked tickets to see Richard Ashcroft, and a Hotel stay"! So my surprise for his birthday is blown! We have registered the tickets on their re-sale website, and looking to see if we can change one of the Hotels for another date and go to the Theatre sometime.
Tonight we are going to a family /friends get together in a social club to celebrate MrJ's coming through his Cancer treatment with the all clear. There will be a singer, and the aim is to raise money for Cancer Research.
Wishing you all the best day possible.
