Why doesn’t anybody answer phones any more?

WFH is fine as long as that is what they are doing.

As you say, you don’t wish to hear distractions in the background that tell you otherwise.

Whether it’s businesses, hospitals, GP surgeries or insurance companies you just spend hours trying to get through.

This morning I tried to call the ENT outpatients at our hospital. It just rang and rang for 10 minutes then just went dead. When my husband was on a hospital ward I never got through once in 3 weeks.

Other places if you eventually get through you know full well they are working from home because you either hear a barking dog or a noisy child. Why are people still working from home?

Our GP surgery tells you that you are Number 12 in a queue and you wait for ages and when you get through you are told the person who can help you “is not in today”.

It really annoys me and is a complete waste of my time.
Don’t even mention places that say they will call you back and never do!
