I have a relative who loves to play along potential plonkers - particularly the "gentlemen" with an Indian accent who tell them they are from Microsoft and they are going to fix all the errors on his computer. Some of them have got really irate because they cannot make him understand how to do things on his windows computer. Eventually he will tell them its a MAC and they will hang up.

This relative built both of my desktops! hahaha

Yep....there's probably every sort of accent going on YouTube - found Indian and Pakistani accents too.....

Oooh go on someone - string him along. I've got a male friend that took great delight in stringing along a woman (or was she) that was contacting him on his phone and professing undying love.

He's happily married actually - but strung that person along for sometime with professions of undying love back and generally playing them at their own game....we used to get told all about his latest encounter with them on his FB page.

Yep....one quick YouTube google later and I started with Nigerian accents - got instant hits and now know how to pronounce "Macdonalds" (as in Macdonalds junk food) in the correct voice....

Has anyone got the nerve to reply to them with a "Please make a phonecall to me - I think we should get to know each other better". Off to check out what other accents I can find there....

I didn’t reply, just blocked him. Afraid to say I was tempted to string him along for a bit, with my best gullible old dear act, but resisted.

Can we be sure "Paul" was even a man? There's female scammers around too doubtless.......

...and shucks that no-one has talked to him on the phone yet - in order to pick up what part of the world he comes from? They must have videos of people talking from various parts of the world on YouTube - as they've certainly got ones for various British voices there (so one can tell what part of Britain they're from and/or what background).

Someone once DID try to con money from me to pay for an operation on his sick mom. He came into one of my online shops presenting himself as a celebrity hairdresser.

Found out from a Google search he was also special forces, a pilot. a rig worker and a personal trainer. Busy guy!
