Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. A sunny start.

I'm on duty today minding one of the venues in Doors Open Day. It's the recently restored Hearse House in the churchyard. There are explanation boards. Sadly, it can't be left open all the time.
There's also a street fair and our usual coffee morning.

Enjoy the food fair pantglas
Such a cheerful quilt gMattie .

Wishing everyone a good weekend.

Morning Mick, morning All from a very damp and dreary corner of Somerset.

Enjoyed my volunteer stint yesterday morning although I felt very cold by the time we left as we sit in front of a constantly opening door. A successful shop in the afternoon, all in all a good day.

Today we do need some groceries, hopefully we’ll dodge the forecast squally showers. I should carry on with the sorting I began earlier in the week, Mr C has offered to change the bed. Having totally forgotten to phone our Welsh friend on my usual day I must do so today. Suspect she’ll be irritated with me.

Good luck to your daughter karmalady.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from a sunny Peterborough where I am staying with DB. I think an outing is planned for later
Best wishes

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. Clear blue sky again and quite cool. No doubt we’ll have showers later. Yesterday was sunny until the usual hefty shower at school pickup time! I had my hair cut and coloured yesterday afternoon, good to catch up with my hairdresser, who I’ve known for many years.
I may put the autumn weight duvet on the bed today as I haven’t been very warm for the last few nights.
I’ll do a little more gardening today in between showers, I hope the soil is damp enough to enable me to dig a few roots and weeds out.
I hope those who are poorly or anxious for any reason find some relief
Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from Malta where another sunny day is forecast with a high of 35°C.

DD1 and Bertie left at 3.20am for the airport so I feel very sad seeing them go after three lovely weeks of having them home.

Goodbyes never get any easier and knowing it will be at least a year before I see them again makes it even harder not to shed a tear.

We had a lovely dinner last night at a restaurant which has a play area so the boys were happy. I hadn’t seen them for a while and DGS1 came straight to me and snuggled on my knee, bless him.

DGS2 was being his usual full-on self. He can be quite naughty when he has an audience but it’s hard not to laugh at his antics at times.

I shall busy myself doing laundry, bed stripping and general cleaning to keep my mind off the long trek home for DD1. I won’t settle until I know she’s safely back but it will be late tonight before I hear anything.

Lovely quilt grandMattie, you are so talented and very kind to do so much for others.🌹

Wishing a good day to you all.☀️

Good morning from Shropshire.A day of sunshine and showers forecast.

DH got the grass cut yesterday and I put out my autumn decor.H was very quiet when we picked him up from school and has woken with a heavy cold.DGD had already generously shared with us earlier in the week so a day at home as I don’t think we will be welcome anywhere🤧

We hope to go to the Ludlow food festival tomorrow Pantglas if my cold is better.

Hoping Blossoming is doing ok and that Marydoll had a helpful phone call.

Wishing everyone a good day🦩🌻

Good Morning from Durham. After a night of heavy rain, it’s still overcast.
Yesterday’s car hunt didn’t go as well as expected. Decisions were made for DD2, not by her, so most on her shortlist were discounted. Back to the drawing board.
After what seems a busy week, I was hoping for a quiet weekend, but I’m meeting a friend for coffee today instead of Monday, as she’s going away and DD2, DGS2 and Little Dog will probably call in later, as SinL will be at the football match.

I hope MD had something positive from her phone consultation.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from Crete. It has been a very hot 31 degrees so far and we are enjoying exploring and relaxing in the sun. Lots of good food and fine wine and beers. I may not fit into my autumn wardrobe on my return 😂

I am a little out of touch with everyone’s news but will catch up as soon as I’m able. Take care wishing a happy Saturday to all 🍻

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and looks damp. Pantglas enjoy your coach trip. GrandMattie the quilt is lovely. I'm glad your meeting went well.
Yesterday I did an hour in the school library and enjoyed talking to people and helping them with books. I saw both grandsons. The nursery visited in batches and dgs2 was there. We had a cuddle. Then I took a book to dgs1's class and he wanted a hug as well. The surprise was, when I arrived at the school and was speaking to the secretary and depute, a little girl from dgs1's class appeared, saw me and gave me a big hug too. This little girl is autistic and struggles at times. We were all really touched.
Afterwards I nipped to dds and had a chat and a cuppa. The rest of the day was spent pottering.
Today I'm off to Marks and Spencers for a food shop. Ds and Dsil are coming to put my old suite in the driveway and I'll contact the council to get it removed. Before they arrive I will remove the cushions and give it a hoover. Where the crumbs appear from, is a mystery to me (two small boys) . Later on I might go for a nap. I had a dreadful night and my feet were extremely painful last night. The usual paracetamol didn't really help. I won't have anything comfortable to sit on anyway, so I might as well rest. Have a good day all

Just to say that I am watching a series on youtube called clayhanger, it is lovely, another era and slow paced

Good morning, it’s a bit damp here on the hillside in south Glos, definitely cooler now autumn is here.
I had a lovely morning at art group yesterday, lots of nattering and laughing, a little art was done 😊
Our second dog walk was in mellow warm sunshine, we just followed where the dogs wanted to go, very peaceful and relaxing.
The hawthorn trees were glowing, they’re so heavily laden with red berries, a feast for the birds, so much fruit this year.
Today we’ll take the dogs to the village for their walk I think, go down into the valley (not looking forward to the long haul back to the top!) somewhere different is always good.
I hope the weekend goes well for you all 🌹

Good morning from cooler, damp and perhaps sunny, s somerset

Yesterday I enjoyed cooking from a meal box I had ordered from my organic supplier. A simple pilaf, no meat in it. It was nice and I have enough for today and tomorrow. I went to pick tomatoes and got the feeling that I ought to be prepping for the coming storm, everything is now secure and bistro tables and chairs are in the garage, so is my bin. I have a car journey on monday and want to concentrate on my driving, not my garden

I started on sorting seeds, I have a lovely new seed box and will put the veg and flower seeds into that today, at the moment they are all over my dining table. While sorting, I did manage to use the last of some ingredients and I made a large parkin. Boxes are washed and put away in my outside keter storage and I have made some more inside space via a bit of de-cluttering. For the future I will be doing my best to just buy as I need. I will be freezing parkin pieces but first it has to mature. I have always used my keter for storage of lock n lock boxes. The whole lot was moved as it was ,to my new house

The last lightbulbs are changed now, I am liking warm white rather than daylight, there seems to be more lumens in the newer bulbs

Today is an extension of yesterday but I am hoping to get out for a brisk walk first. Very much a pottering day, while also keeping an eye on my dds progress, she is cycling, national championships this weekend

Have a good day

Good morning from a dry Torbay with sunshine promised.

Safe journey to Ludlow - a beautiful town and more enjoyable when someone else is taking care of the driving and parking, Pantglas2.

Yesterday, my Lidl shop was a breeze, being virtually deserted at 7.30 am when I arrived. Luckily, I found knights in shining armour to assist when I needed eggs from a too high shelf and when my pound coin wouldn’t come out of the trolley at the end of my visit!

Coffee morning at church today then a walk over the Downs if the promised sunshine materialises.

Happy weekend if possible, everyone. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from a cool Bristol. It’s dry, but most likely not for long…
Our resident’ meeting went well yesterday, with sensible suggestions - one which wasn’t, was to appoint me as spokesman at Monday’s meeting with Teflon boss. I was anxious to give everyone a chance to voice their dissatisfaction but not let them bang on. One couple does that, it’s very wearing. The meeting was generally well attended, but I feel annoyed by the residents who benefit from our work, but refuse to engage or join the rest.
The rest of the day quiet - I was exhausted as I hadn’t slept well.
The photos are of the quilt I made for a GN member, finished last week. The colours are brighter than in the photo, it looks very cheerful! She is very pleased with it.
Today is very full. Because I can’t go to the supermarket on Monday due to the meeting, im going to Waitrose on foot very early, as I’m serving coffee again at church this morning.
I need to bake this afternoon because I’m horribly busy early next week and have promised to make cakes for Wednesday’s ladies’ guild meeting, etc…
Yes, Iris is neurally diverse but her behaviour is unnecessary- she is “perfect”with her friends and at school!
I hope your consultation went satisfactorily MD. 💐*FGT*.
Have a good weekend and enjoy what you can of life. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
