Hello wise people. This morning when I got up I found the boiler is not working, so no heat or hot water. I have insurance with BG on the boiler, hob and fire in lounge. This costs nearly £1000 a year. I rang BG and at first they said they couldnt get anyone here until Thursday. I am 88 and supposedly on the "at risk" list. I protested vehemently, and after a bit of arguing they will come today after 12 am.
The question is, do you think its worth paying for the insurance or would I be better going qith a local plumber who has an excellent reputation? I understand a boiler service would be about £!00. BUT, you have no idea how quickly he would be able to get to you in an emergency. I don't want to jump out of the frying pan into the fire!
Husband I think is looking for divorce after 50 years.
