She always does her homework and knows exactly what she is talking about when she meets members of the public.

Agree, she came to visit when I was a volunteer for a charity. She made a point of speaking to every single one of us and asked very relevant questions. She was genuinely interested and very knowledgeable. She was so down to earth we all forgot to curtsy!

She's amazing.

She is her father's daughter. I wonder if Prince Phillip found his 3 sons not to be quite the tough, no-nonsense boys he wanted. Charles hated Gordonstoun and talked to his plants, Edward soon left the Royal Marines and went into theatre life and as for Andrew.....
Princess Anne isn't one for what's in fashion as regards clothes and hairstyles. She never sought the titles for her children. To me Princess Anne and her family come across as the most down to earth Royals and despite being in her 70's, Princess Anne is a grafter.

Princess Anne is the patron of our local hospice and she has been a frequent and loyal visitor for decades. I'm not a royalist but I do respect her..

She wasn't glam or pretty enough to interest the media which she should be grateful. She’s kept the same hairdo for ever and wears posh old country clothes so wouldn't sell papers. Good for her.

I read recently about when she landed at some airport and a member of the welcoming party asked how her flight had been.
It was reported that she asked him if he had ever flown, when he said yes, she said ,well it was like that.
I just burst out laughing.
If true I could have totally believed it.

I'm afraid I don't see the humour in humiliating someone who is just doing their job and, more importantly, can't answer back with equal sarcasm. She wouldn't get very far in the real world speaking to people like that.

Royal Navy apart, Prince Phillip was still around to see his son's friendship with Epstein come to light. I daresay that rather overshadowed Andrew's naval service.

It was rather a daft question though, I'm sure she must get fed up of being asked the same questions over and over again. It also depends how she said it.

I'd have probably laughed, it seems quite funny to me!

Yes, as Edward leaving the Royal Marines was listed I thought is was their youth being discussed, Edward has done and still does much for Duke Edinburgh awards and as a working member

Princess Anne is the best of the bunch of her generation. I like King Charles,too.

Good point. It’s all very well being applauded for blunt speaking and having a no nonsense approach giving free rein to sarcasm but not so nice for the unfortunate and probably nervous person on the receiving end who is just trying to be polite.

Yes I’ve always liked her. She took her role seriously.

Same here I'm a Republican but she works hard with no nonesense.

I don't believe that Andrew ever "served" anything or anybody, he just looks does what he wants with as little trouble to himself as possible.

I have always preferred her more than her siblings.

Wise after the event

I've always liked Princess Anne for all the reasons given in the positive comments above. No-nonsense and hard working are the stand-out characteristics that I like. I have never met her ( she seems to have survived that particular disappointment🤣🤣) but am not surprised that she is reported as being well -informed. You never know how true reported anecdotes are but two stand out; the first being the Late Queen Elizabeth and Anne swapping stories about the " interesting" people that they had met doing the "everyday stuff" and the other is the legendary "Not Bloody Likely" when someone tried to kidnap her on the Mall.
Also her career as a professional horsewoman is impressive as it was achieved independantly of her royal status ( clearly money and (some) time) no object).

She seems to have inherited the tremendous grit, determination and resilience of both parents.

I admire the way she raised her children, unroyal, out of the public eye, including the way after divorce , she and their father remained living as neighbours on her estate Now their children and grandchildren all live there. All demonstrating that it's perfectly possible for royalty to marry commoners, do satisfying work and have a private family life.

William got the message. Pity Harry didn't.

You obviously know nothing about the Royal Navy cc.

They are not called The Services for nothing and the Royal Navy is the Senior Service.
Royal Navy personnel serve on board ships.
