Good afternoon from a sunny midlands.

I’m stepping back from GN - I’m sick of the bitchiness and being invisible.

Have the best life that you all can have.

Hugs to those suffering.

Thank you for the lovely Welcome Back’. I may not post every day at the moment as my energy levels are so up and down, but I aim to try as I find this lovely thread healing. ♥️

Ilovedogs22 Mon 22-Sept-25 11:05:37

Good moaning to you all from the West Midlands.
A cold morning here but the sky is so beautiful & the light has changed too as we move into autuum. It actually has a magical luminescent quality about it today. Wonderful. 😊

I meant to say that on Saturday I went to see a play called Small Acts of Love in the newly reopened Citzens Theatre. It’s a true story about the Lockerbie disaster and the beautiful connection which has grown between the people in the town and the families of many of the families of the young Americans who were killed. It’s on till 4th of October and I think that anyone who could manage to see it would really enjoy it. Great music.

NannyJan53 Mon 22-Sept-25 09:05:12

Meant so say, I hope you are home today kitty and wish you a speedy recovery.

Good morning from 3 degrees South Lanarkshire but a bright blue sky. That was a terrible shock for you Bellasnana, you must feel shaken as well as sad.

That was a nice picture of your grandchildren baubles, you’ll have had a lovely weekend but I’m sure you slept well last night!

Grammaretto I have a mental picture of you in a medieval painting called The Apple Press, can you see it too?😊

The next week will feel long Marydoll, I’ll be thinking about you.

Wishing everyone a good day, I am keeping in mind all who have been struggling at the moment and hope for improvements soon.

Good morning Mick and everyone from Cambridgeshire where it is a sunny 7 degrees but feels very chilly. I had an early text from my friend in Italy to say her next door neighbours cat was shut in her garage. DH had been over to mow her lawn yesterday and had opened up the garage hence the little visitor moved in😂 As soon as I got the message I went out to free the cat. There appeared to be nothing there then all of a sudden it shot out had been hiding in the roof and goodness made me jump.

Yesterday was a lovely quiet day, sunny and 16 degrees, a nip in the air but had a good day tidying the garden and planted some cyclamen and pansies. Then I had a couple of hours with my book before preparing a roast dinner.

Today we plan to go to a NT property and walk sound the gardens. Then back home to pick DGD2 up from dance class. Not seen her for a couple of weeks due to us being away so looking forward to catching up with DD2 and DGS2 as well later on.

Lovely to see you posting again Blossoming and hope your recovery goes well. I too was sad to see certain comments yesterday on this lovely supportive thread.

Also pleased to see Bella back I wondered if you were ok and so sorry to hear about your friend.

Kitty hope you manage to get home today and all going well.

Happy holidays to those going off on adventures and thinking of those struggling and where things are not easy. Wishing everyone a good day.

I succumbed to ibruprofen and looked up some reassurance, it is likely to take 130 days before the pain stops coming and going, that long for the pulp to heal. and the pain can be intensive. I think I will take paracetamol every night and ibruprofen every morning as I need breakfast first for that one

GM I would pay £4 for hm mincemeat

Good morning from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
I’ve been practising a lot to get the higher part of my voice going again as I’ve returned to the opera company after a long break. I’m also enjoying a couple of pieces new to me.

This morning I’m off to see the Downton finale and then house stuff this afternoon. Clearing shelves of things like guide books and maps I will never use again.
Still haven’t heard from the plumber and the new window cleaner hasn’t made a very good job. The kitchen window looks streaky…
Thoughts to Bellasnana and I hope you feel better day by day Blossoming🌺

Good morning from a sunny NE, it has been dry for24 hours now after Saturday's deluge.
SIL arrived early afternoon and we spent an hour or so in the study checking out the new computer, making sure everything I need had been transferred.
We had dinner early so that SIL could have a video call with DD who is on a business trip, she had flown to Warsaw and was waiting for an ongoing flight.
Today I will do laundry.
Get well soon kitty.
Bellasnana 💐

Good morning and it’s bright and sunny here in Essex, but the heating came in for the first time.

Yesterday seemed a long day. Tired from gardening, got fed up with reading and puzzle books, watched the end of the athletics, walked the dog and just moped around. Dh mowed the lawn but he’s quite happy sitting and watching TV 😬.

Today we have DS2 coming at lunchtime. He has an online meeting at 2 but the rest of the time we’ll be discussing decisions that need to be made. He is calm, thoughtful and patient . DS1 (my whirlwind) will come in after work. The polar opposite to his brother! 😉.

A sad week for you Bellasnanna 🙏
Toothache is horrid Karma. Hope it improves soon.
I hope all struggling get some respite today.

Oh Sar have a lovely holiday. ☀️.

glammagran Mon 22-Sept-25 08:30:21

Good morning from cold and sunny Wiltshire. Temp in bedroom is 19c atm.

At last, at 6am this morning I got my WhatsApp working again as when I requested yet another verification code after being told I must wait another 24 hours I actually received one for the very first time. Such a relief. I was communicating with useless bots only at Meta.

School pickup up later. Macaroni cheese for dinner - we will all eat together. Other son in law’s birthday today. We have 6 family birthdays in September including mine at the weekend. 3 of those are within 4 days of each other. Nightmare.

I’m so sorry about your friend Bellasnana. You’ve had a really tough time this year. Enjoy being with your twins.

Have a good Monday everyone.

ginny Mon 22-Sept-25 08:30:19

Good morning. Sunny but chilly here in N. Bucks.
A bit of ironing and housework this morning. This afternoon is WI sewing group where we will start work on our entry for the tree festival in December.
I’ll walk there and back, about 20 minutes each way. I’m trying to do more walking in the hopes that it helps my weight loss. I’ve lost just over two stone since February but seem to have hit a plateau in spite of good food choices.
I hope today brings something good to you all.

Jaxjacky Mon 22-Sept-25 08:24:17

Morning, sunny in S Hants and 7.
Happy holidays Sar and Georgesgran friends of ours are off to Cyprus this week.
Hope so kitty 🤞
Yesterday washed some jeans, dried outside and kitchen tidy up, no luck on the meat draw.
More housework today in between voluntary phone, quiz tonight, I’ll fit in a short walk.
Hugs to poorlies.

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Lancashire. It’s a chilly start to the day, though I’m nice and warm in my room. MrB took me out in my wheelchair yesterday, I really enjoyed it. My legs are feeling a little stronger each day so maybe I will be able to use my tri walker again soon while this pleasant Autumn weather lasts.

I was sad to see some criticism of this lovely warm and friendly thread over the weekend. It is a lifeline for me at the moment, it has such community spirit. Keep doing what you’re doing folks, I may not mention everyone but I read all your posts,

I hope you’re feeling better today Marydoll and I eagerly await your next novella whenever you feel up to writing it x

NannyJan53 Mon 22-Sept-25 08:02:34

Good morning from a lovely sunny Black Country with a bright blue sky.

The weather was the same yesterday, and I went to my birthday lunch in a summer dress and sandals! 12 of us altogether as youngest DGD (14) didn't come as she had a rotten cold. It was quite funny, as I had a mini dessert and Cappuccino. Sipped the coffee, and thought 'this is rather weak' turned out to be a mug of just hot milk smile Soon rectified though.

Walking group walk today then Line Dancing, as I will miss the next two Mondays. Looks like idea weather for walking.

gM I would pay £4 for homemade mincemeat. Mum used to make Delia Smiths recipe until about 3 years ago, and it was absolutely better than any shop bought. She used to give it away to family and friends. Any jar left over was ok for the following year, as long as a drop of Brandy was added.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your friend Bellas flowers

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny but frosty Carlisle where it is currently 2°C. Folks have been scraping ice off their car windscreens! I don't expect that in September these days.
Yesterday was a lovely sunny day so eventually I couldn't resist going out in the garden to work and abandoned my tedious admin. I replenished my beer trap and moved it to the other end of my veg border. This morning I found it well occupied by large, demised slugs, presumably the ones who have accelerated the demolishing of my potato plants.

Today the usual routine bed changing, laundry and vacuuming. I'm switching to my heavier duvet now the nights are a lot cooler. I'm also hoping to finish my admin job which will involve a lot of typing. Plus I have to chase the surgery who have got my last prescription wrong, I'm short of vital drugs, one of which has dire warnings of the results of stopping taking it.

Have the best possible day everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 22-Sept-25 07:50:59

Oh o have my fingers crossed kitty 🤞🏻

Hope you get home, and remember to rest, rest and then rest some more 🌸

Grandmabatty Mon 22-Sept-25 07:47:45

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5° and sunny. We've had the first frost here as the cars are quite covered still. Bellasnana I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. The boys will keep you busy and distracted, I hope. GrandMattie I would pay that for homemade mincemeat.
Yesterday was a reasonable day. I didn't achieve much but I had the boys for a couple of hours. They were so good. Dgs2 wanted me to read books to him and I happily obliged then dgs1 wanted in on the act so I read one to him too. Both boys cooried in, one on each side of me. This bonhomie lasted until five minutes before their mummy arrived when they turned into puppies and had an attack of the zoomies, is the only way I can describe it! I am sure dd thinks I feed them constantly on sugar but that wasn't the case(yesterday). After they left I prepared dinner and had a lie down.
Last night I wasn't in quite as much pain as the previous one but up a lot to the loo. Today I'm taking the car to the garage to get the exhaust fixed, so no early childcare. If I get it back early enough I'll pick the boys up from school. So a day in the house for me. I might do the ironing and make lentil soup. Have a good day all.

Grammaretto Mon 22-Sept-25 07:42:17

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. A touch of frost so the leaves will be falling soon.

Yesterday was very warm as a group of us pressed tons of apples outside our community store. I met my new neighbours who seem a nice young family. They have moved from the city.

Today I catch an early bus for a physio appointment and then on to Edinburgh to meet a French friend who is visiting with her small son.

Then home to housework and preparations for my next guests who are due on Friday.

I send best of wishes to all those unwell especially thinking of Marydoll

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve a dry bright start to the day
Sorry to hear about your friend Bellas so sad
Yesterday ended up busier than planned as DD2 asked me out for lunch and a chat, wasn’t home until tea time. Today I’ve a bit of shopping to do and the usual housework but nothing else planned, hopefully some gardening if the sun comes out
Enjoy your holiday Sar and safe travels
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a bright WKent. Early visit to the GP and then my cleaner should be sorting out the kitchen and hoovering through
Hope you do get home kitty
Sorry to read about your friend Bella
Best wishes
