I'm not fancying a Snickers bar today unfortunately!

I remember those bars too Tilly and Madeleine but was never a fan of crème fillings. My mum loved them though.

Thinking of chocolate bars of yore I got thinking about the bars of Milk Tray. Remember those? Several different fillings in one bar. I liked the caramel one but hated the lime cordial … yuk.

Oh yes I remember those Madeleine I found this poster on the www of when it was launched in the 70’s?
and the flavours inside.

I like my chocolate as I like my men, dark and strong! So yes I miss the dark Bounty, which was an occasional treat. Wouldnt give you tuppence for milk chocolate in any form. I used to like pontefract cakes - liquorice circles but didnt like the very stiff liquorice pipes or bards, but loved what we called boot laces and catherine wheels which had the blue bobbly centre to them. Long time since I had any of those. Being diabetic I should not have any of course, but actually I do get some dark probably 80% cocoa chocolate. I find on the occasions when I sddenly long for something sweet, one bit of that satisfies my craving, but if I dont have that I find myself wanting to eat biscuits or bread and jam or something sweet, and fruit on that occasion , dont fit the bill. Do any of you remember that frys chocolate bar, not the mint one all through but one that had five different flavours in it, strawberry, orange , coffee and cant remember the other two.Sometimes our family would have one of those as we all liked different ones. Of course mine was the coffee one as coffee remains my first choice , whether in a cake or as a drink, and have tried many other things over the years but it stays as my favourite.

I’ve always liked Tunnocks chocolate caramel wafers but then found I like the copies made by Belmont at Aldi more!
They are £1 per pack of 8 cheaper too.

I ended up getting a Snickers again! as usual. But, it was a duo bar so I had two!

I love a Star Bar, especially when it comes in a twin pack! They have a caramel and peanut centre.

Me too. But I am diabetic….sad

I gave up chocolate almost a year ago when I started calorie counting. It was really hard at first as I always craved chocolate in the evening. I now never think about chocolate.

However I don’t want to spoil anyone else’s enjoyment.

In the good old days 2 triangles of Toblerone would hit the mark. 😋

Why haven’t I heard of this before? Sounds right up my street.
Are you in the US or Oz?

I have a piece of Aldi's dark chocolate with hazelnuts almost every day. I kid myself that it's good for me and I enjoy every moment it is in my mouth. I don't know why but I always have to hunt for it in Aldi, often they have every other type but not the one I want, so when I find it, I buy the lot so I have a stash!

Any...of course.

Lion bar or turkish delight 😋

We discovered KitKat Balls while we were away this year. Much better IMO than Maltesers.
You can get them here but they’re much more expensive than they were in France. Thank heavens they weren’t on the forbidden list this year, so we bought back multiple family bags.

I’m liking Revels at the moment.
Not a chocolate bar, I know
Just be careful that you don’t eat the whole bag

I've just demolished half of a bag with a cup of tea!!
Last week it was Munchies.

Maybe late but it has to be Lindt Excellence 70%. It is 'spenny but I can't binge on it - so it does last a bit.

There is some very deliciou vegan chocolate in some budget supermarkets. Yet you wouldn't be able to tell it was vegan at all! There's one with lovely bits of honeycomb in, another with gorgeous nibbles of a almond inside & yet another that contains moorish cookie-nibs.
It is some of the best chocolate that I've ever tasted & I have had rather a lot! 😊

Gone off chocolate bars since I started liking dark chocolate a couple of years back. I now have 2 pieces of the 85% chocolate from Sainsbury's sometimes even 4squares but that's plenty to satisfy my chocolate craving for the day

Casdon Tue 23-Sept-25 16:14:35

I’d go for a Galaxy, just chocolate.

love0c Tue 23-Sept-25 15:43:28

One that is big enough to taste!

ginny Tue 23-Sept-25 15:36:18

Nothing but a good dark chocolate for me.

No chocolate for me……a sweet treat would be£ have to be in the form of licorice. Actually, I received an order this morning of some very posh, grown up licorice………too good for the GC 🤭😜😂

Liquorice for me, too! Our local sweet shop does one called Soft Tubes (except that they’re not hollow!) They are soft and chewy and way too moreish!

They also do a gf chocolate fudge, which doesn’t seem to be as sweet and sickly as the usual fudges.

Whatever you do GrannyIvy don’t buy the large box of Maltesers 😏 I did and lived to regret it.🤭
