I'm not fancying a Snickers bar today unfortunately!

Clapey? That's new word for me!

I like chocolate but had to give it up due to migraines. However, after many years, I find I can eat a small amount which is a treat.

I don’t like chocolate so you can have my share I can never understand what people see in the clapey stuff
Now there’s a problem have I spelt clapey right as in thick and unswallowable ( not sure that’s a word either) 🤣

…“Not sure if that’s a word” .. it is now BlueBelle 😉

Well Oreo the chocolate is still in the fridge and has been all week. I usually cut it into 3 pieces and have a piece occasionally after dinner. No way would I eat chocolate before a meal. 🙄

You remind me of my late husband. He loved dark chocolate, but would make a bar last for weeks, just having a square now and again. He also liked Mars bars but would slice them and just have one slice when the fancy took him. I had/have no willpower and if I have a Mars bar, I have to eat it all in one go! I could only ever buy the smallest Dairy milk bars for the same reason! I am now diabetic 🥲 and have had to learn that one square of chocolate now and again as a treat, is all I can have!

Does anyone remember the Old Jamaica chocolate bar? I think it was rum and raisin flavour and the tv advert featured pirates.

Yes, I remember it! I can hardly forget it really - I loved it so much, I once ate the whole bar in one go, and was throwing up for hours after!
Greedy whatsit, wasn’t I?
There was another bar I loved whose name escapes me. It was like a Dairy Milk bar to look at, but the chocolate had Rice Krispies mixed into it. Yummy!

Yes cabana….lost chocolate bars of Britain! I remember the Aztec bar commercial but it wasn’t really my thing, too complicated at age 8 or 9 …the ads were so good in the “olden” days, so memorable.

Any one remember an Aztec bar. Was it coconut with cherries😳?

Was the Aztec bar not just a nougat and caramel? I think the one with coconut and cherries was called the Cabana, maybe?

There are two bars of marzipan covered in dark chocolate beckoning me from the fridge. Maybe not before lunch 🤔

Def after lunch with a coffee 😏

Why is it that all I want now is a dark chocolate coated Bounty bar?
I haven’t thought about them for years .

They were actually whiskey truffles not liqueurs. Delicious.

Not a bar, but around Christmas I love chocolate coated cherries.
M&S are lovely but Aldi do a good version although I don’t get there anymore so I assume they still do.
I think they have liqueur in them but not sure.

We've just bought some chocolate coated cherries from Hotel Chocolat. We haven't eaten them yet as we also bought some Whisky liqueurs which we polished off immediately.

Not really got a sweet tooth. Before I was an adult I quite liked revels, bounty, and crunchie bars. The only choc bar I’ve bought as an adult has been plain bounty bars, never anything else. Now discontinued I’ve not eaten a choc bar in years. Now cheese is another matter entirely …. 🙄

You can often buy plain chocolate Bounty in Home Bargains, if I see them I buy a few at a time.😋

Many thanks Oreo!

Mars bar: nibble the chocolate round the sides first, then the top, the caramel and finally the base. Or cut it into this slices. Too sweet to take bites of the whole thing though.

Though actually I’m with you in Snickers being the best of the bunch.

Absolutely what I do, Lixy! I also put the bar in the fridge for half an hour, once sliced. It improves the flavour, I think. Not sure I agree about Snickers being the best, although I love them too.
A friend of mine used to cook her Mars bar in batter, like fish! (Yes, honestly). Each to her own. That never appealed to me!

My H’s favourite chocolate was Chocolate Brazils.
I always bought him a box for Christmas, happy memories Allira thank you.

Same here, Usedtobeblonde and Allira. They were my late husband’s favourite too.

You should not buy any chocolate bars, they are full of calories, eat a beautiful fruit instead.

I see you are doing your usual thing of criticising anything and everything that people like. I have said before that if you dislike something, that’s fine, but I, and probably others, don’t need to know how you feel every time you are in a critical mood. You don’t gave to try to put a damper on everything!
As someone said, lighten up and let the rest of us enjoy life, even of you don’t. You frequently come across as sad and miserable.

Usedtobeblonde Sat 27-Sept-25 22:31:45

They had to be milk chocolate.
No fancy dark stuff for him!!
