Happy birthday Glammagran
Out for lunch today with DS and family a late birthday treat for him
Best wishes to all
Good morning everyone from a very grey and wet Northampton; it looks very gloomy outside. Hoping this rain stops by late morning as I have a rugby match to go to.
Yes, it's the start of the new season and my team Northampton Saints have a home match against Exeter Chiefs. Keeping my fingers crossed for the boys in black, green and gold!
A very good result for the England women yesterday, duly crowned world champions. So pleased for them.
Happy birthday glammagran hope.you have a lovely day and a good lunch out with your family! 💐🎉🍾🍰🎁🎂
Wishing all a pleasant day.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a clear sunny start to the day
A very Happy Birthday glammagran enjoy your special day and get together lunch
I’ve a facetime call with DS this morning, it’s always good to catch up on his news. Then no definite plans for thd rest of today, hopefully I’ll get outside in the garden for a while or maybe a short walk somewhere.
That’s frustrating EkwaNimitee I hope you get your prescription sorted ok on Monday
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning from a brightening sky following rain last night just as we were leaving the theatre!
The performance of Blood Brothers was brilliant, earning the cast a well deserved standing ovation. DH conceded that it was well done but I don’t think we shall convert him to musicals - ballet and plays are his cultural choice.
Prior to that, we dined at a nearby Italian restaurant for which we’d had to pre-order. DD2 had eaten there several times, including with colleagues from the academy board of directors from her school and had always been impressed with the food and service.
Unfortunately, there was a mix up with one starter and this wasn’t handled graciously by the waitress or manageress who reacted as if we were to blame! To add insult to injury the missing starter was added to the bill. “A slip of the finger on the till,” according to the manageress! I might need to slip my fingers on to Trip Advisor later today….!
DH is going by train to Stafford this morning where he will make use of the courtesy bus to reach the County Show Ground for the model railway exhibition. He spends a lot of time on RMWeb, a site for railway enthusiasts. Perhaps your DH is familiar with it, Susan56.
While DH is out, DD2, DGD and I will watch DGS2 play football. I feel guilty that we take much more interest in his sister's dancing performances than his football achievements so this is an attempt to redress the balance.
Happy birthday, Glammagran. I was 70 during the pandemic and celebrated with neighbours outside our flats (socially distanced!) with fizz, nibbles and cake!
A blessed Sunday to all! 🦩🥰✝️💐🦩
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° with some early morning cloud. It has been cold in the night as my windows are misted. I've put on the heating for a little while. Glammagran a very happy birthday to you. Redcar I have ironing to do too. Grammaretto I hope you feel better soon.
Yesterday was a merry meeting with my chum. We had a lovely breakfast and caught up with all our news. I had managed a quick trip to Aldi beforehand and washed and dried the bedding on my return from taking my friend home. Thereafter reading and some tv.
Today I'll get the ironing done. My intention is to put up the autumn decorations but it'll depend on my balance on the step ladders. Then some pottering. Have a good day all.
Good morning Mick and everyone from a rather cloudy Carlisle where it has rained a little during the night.
Yesterday's trip into town to collect a prescription was wasted...it's the third time I've tried to get a remaining item from a previous prescription and they couldn't find it in spite of assuring me last week that a new supply was arriving. They've put in a special order for the pills and now it will be Monday.....I'm getting rather concerned.
I came home to coffee and a long phone chat with my sister where we put the world to rights...if only! The rest of the day...tidying and sorting stuff and then a long video call with DS1 whom I could see had sunshine whilst it showered here.
I watched an old film in the evening, The Clothes in the Wardrobe, featuring some old hands like Jeanne Moreau, Joan Plowright and Julie Walters. Creakily 1960's but well done and you can understand them without using subtitles too.
Today, I'll be busy pottering about with this and that, I have stuff scattered about everywhere that needs putting back somewhere!
Have a pleasant Sunday everyone especially Glammagran...Happy Birthday to you!
Good morning from N. Bucks.?
Had a lovely day with DGS 3 yesterday. He has just started in reception class and is settling in well but I think he is missing his old activities. Today he and his brother will be very excited as they are collecting their two new kittens. L
DH and I are meeting DDs 1 & 2 for brunch .’ We have some bulbs to put in the garden later up and then relax
Happy Birthday Glammagran and a good day wished for all.
Good morning everyone from mid Essex. Broken cloud this morning with a lovely pinky gold tinge as the sun comes up. It’s quite mild too. Yesterday started off sunny but clouded over during the day and we had a very short light shower. I changed the bedclothes yesterday but kept the 7.0 tog duvet on, it’s too early for the winter weight one yet!
Happy Birthday glammagran have a great day and a super lunch with your family.
sar I’m pleased that S is out of hospital and hope she’s making a good recovery.
I’ll try to do some more cutting back of shrubs and possibly put a few more bulbs in the garden. I still have ironing to do, I didn’t do any yesterday but must get myself moving around more.
Thinking of those who are struggling for any reason.
Have the best day you can everyone
.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Just getting light.
We had a family dinner and get together last night. My niece and her husband cooked. I lit the fire. DS and DGS came out from Edinburgh to
join us.
I was plied with hot toddies as my cold is no better. 🤧
Happy birthday Glammagran
Have a lovely party.
Today we plan to visit an open garden.
Thinking of all with troubles.
Sorry Glammagran. Predictive text
Have a very happy birthday, Glammagran🎂🎈
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is still dark, but it looks damp at the moment. Apart from one bathroom break, I slept well last night. Yesterday I renewed my car tax online and baked a batch of chocolate brownies, some of which I will take over to DD sometime today. In the afternoon I spent a couple of hours in the garden cutting down spent plants, and scrubbing moss off the back of the wall that separates the top lawn from the patio. It’s a job I hate, but left to its own devices it damages the brickwork. Today, weather permitting, I intend to take my camera into the woods where we have our Thursday walks and take some photographs. There is never time on Thursdays to stand and stare - it’s frowned upon!!
Have the best day you can, folks.
Happ Birthday Glamorgan. Enjoy your special day
Happy Birthday, Glammagran 🥂🎂💐
Thinking of those with mountains to climb
Happy holidays to those enjoying different places
Fgt, Md, Blossoming 💐💐😨
Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
Happy 70th Glammagran 🌹🌹🎂
I’m still in bed so no idea what the weather is like.
OH and I are visiting our local NT property after lunch. It is their last weekend before closing until next Easter: we will look at the beautiful Burne Jones mural and have a cream tea. Before we leave home I will prepare a beef in beer casserole and a treacle pudding ready to cook when we get back home.
Have a good day everyone.
Good Morning from MS, sunny & 30c. Glammagran: I hope you have a very Happy Birthday🎂 Make a wish iiiii
Wishing you a very happy birthday glammagran.🥳
Good morning everyone. It was very overcast yesterday but hopefully it will be sunnier later.
Today I am 70. I can’t imagine how this has happened. 16 of us are having Sunday lunch at a lovely pub near Marlborough. The only person missing will be GD1 as she has started at Newcastle Uni. She is settling in very well. She turned down an offer from Bristol because her BF is a 2nd year student at Newcastle also from the Reading area of Berkshire. Times have changed - 2 airfryers have been provided in the student kitchen.
Sar53 so glad S is back home. Such a hindrance for her having such bad asthma.
Kitty good you are recovering and getting out and about.
Bellasnana pleased your twin GS’s are settling in at school. It’s a little strange when they start school for the Grans who have looked after them from babyhood.
Peli soooo envious of your lovely verandah. Maybe you could post a photo of the view you look out on.
Have a good Sunday all
Good morning, it’s damp and dark here in south Glos, we didn’t see much sun yesterday so hoping for some today.
A meh day yesterday, I was completely lacking in energy and couldn’t get warm in the afternoon despite layers of warm clothes and the wood burner being lit 🤷🏼♀️
I did give the kitchen a good tidy, two loads of washing almost dried on the line and then I just gave up.
Nothing much planned for today except dog walking and making a chicken casserole for dinner, we’ll probably have it with mash, baby carrots and peas I think.
Wishing you all a lovely day 🌹
Good morning from s somerset, wall to wall sun here today
I spent a happy two hours on the allotment yesterday, starting the autumn tidy-up. Chopping the grown green manure and covered two beds with weighted cardboard, to keep the worms cozy while they eat greens during winter. My plants were not delivered , looks as though evri have mis-placed them and I have written to the sender, they need to be in the ground
It will be lovely to work outside and I think I can get all the allotment tools cleaned, oiled and sharpened in one day, I brought them home and my garden is very warm and sheltered for me, ideal for that work
Today I want to do a little spinning and also some knitting as well as make a small soup, I have an invaluable one-person soup maker. I do have to chop the veg small but chopping is very therapeutic
Dds new puppies are settled very well, they already come to call and have good recall, they have good scenting ability too, sniffing out toads yesterday. Eating and sleeping very well and are two happy little springers. They are in the country and have a few acres, ideal for these active happy dogs
Last night I discovered a series called Daniel Deronda by George Eliot. Very enjoyable and yet again another easy , youtube watch of an old tv series
Have a good day
Good morning from Malta where another day of unsettled weather is forecast with a high of 29°C.
Yesterday was a mixture of thundery rainstorms and bright spells so I decided not to go to the Air Show although it still took place and I could hear the noise of the planes.
It’s on again today so I might go if I can find somewhere to park. The Red Arrows don’t do their display until 5.45pm and I am not interested in sitting through all that comes before them.
I’m meeting a friend for coffee at 9.30 and will then come home to watch tennis and chat to my friend in Leicester although we had a long chat yesterday and she will be here to chat to in person in a couple of weeks!
Hoping you all have a good Sunday.☀️
Good morning from Bristol. It rained a bit during the night.
Yesterday’s coffee in church was mega busy. There had been a planting of some 200 daffodil bulbs and quite different people came in for refreshments.
In the evening, I went with a neighbour to a concert by a Bristol string ensemble + piano. “Eastern European” composers - Chopin, Liszt, Stravinsky and Bartok. Loved it except that I found Liszt’s Hungarian rhapsodies quite peculiar played by only strings…. In November, my favourite Baroque composers.
Empty today apart from church. I’ll do nothing again, ready to face another busy week.
Hugs for those with difficulties, especially the FGTs and MD.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good Morning Everyone,
